If he were committed to a mental hospital the chances are that in a few years they would consider him "competent" with drugs and release him. I think he should be released immediately. Jailing Teitel is unfair and unequal treatment compared to the 1000 Arab terrorists that were freed in the Gilad Shalit exchange. The next 999 'Jewish terrorists' should also go free, though it's very unlikely that that number will ever be reached.

It's good to give him a very severe sentence. Killing people because of political- ideological, religious,… motives, done by whoever (Palestinians, Muslims, Jews, Christians,…), must be punished always on the same way. No compassion, no mercy,… and don't free him (them) too quickly. I read above that Teitel is mentally disturbed and ill. Ok, also I find there is - when you see that glance in his eyes - something wrong with the guy.
