I was of course referring to religion, as in organized chicanery or outright thievery, which has been turned into a trade and a profession, replete with tycoons dressed in splendour and residing in palaces, all the way down to the street corner Rabbi who makes a living out of interfering with nature on the eighth day of male birth or the priest administering confession or last rites.
On spirituality I have only one thing to say. When it comes to nonsense invented by Man, it ranks way up in the top ten. My experience in life has taught me that people who profess to have spirituality tend to spout unadulterated nonsense and that the connection between their cerebral ingenuity and their facial orifice is, at least, impaired, if not non existent. This is particularly so of highly strung women and ordained officials of the Christian denominations, not to mention Southern preachers, but then again, that is strictly business. Spirituality is an invention of Man's effervescent mind, not a particularly good one, but nevertheless harmless in general.
