2. Please,note Assad´s ears
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (04.18.13)
According to my researches, these are the typical ears ,as depicted in classical paintings, of that red little "man", with two horns over the head and a black tail in the rear end, known as "the thing".Not a good thing.
3. well ...
RDJ ,   USA   (04.18.13)
assad is right , you know ? What the hell gives amerikka the right to ally with those muslim lunatics alqaeda , destroy democratic regimes in the middle east , and replace them with alqaeda headed ones so they can have an excuse to start a war ? Assad is dictatorial , powerhungry and the like , but hes the best we can hope for in the middle east right now !!

5. Maybe al-Qaeda is striking "in the heart the United States"
Steve   (04.18.13)
6. Assad vs Islamist-Jihadist Terrorists
Brod ,   USA   (04.18.13)
Assad is still better than the Islamist-Jihadist Terrorists who have converged in Syria to try to dethrone Assad. It is time Congress stops the stupidity of supporting the Islamist-Jihadist Terrorists who murdered the American Ambassador and Americans in Benghazi, destroyed America's landmarks and butchered 3000 Americans on 9/11, and all the Islamist-Jihadist terrorisms around the world since then. Remember the Islamist-Jihadist terrorists who butchered Christians and others in Nigeria, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Burma, the Philippines, the UK, Beslan-Russia, Xinxiang-China, Bali-Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Spain, Holland, etc.
7. Assad knows what he's talking about
Dmitry ,   Israel   (04.18.13)
After all, he supported Hamas and Islamic Jihad against Israel and Sunni tribal groups against America in Iraq. I'm sure back in the 2000s it was all fun and games and seeing how much missiles you could smuggle to Hezbollah or pay to the family of a suicide bomber and get away with it.
8. Assad!
pink elephant   (04.18.13)
Go home, nobody likes you, nobody respects you!
9. #2 is a thieving fake

11. Choosing the lesser evil
Cameron ,   USA   (04.18.13)
Poisonous Baathist regime or Fanatical Sunni rabble
12. And he's ... Right!
(04.18.13)
The US eventually messed up almost always, almost anywhere where it tried to make big changes. US displayed superficiality and inexperience in almost all international political games, and ended up with hurting itself and its allies... The current Admin is particularly prone to making mistakes on political and military decisions, so eventually all the US allies should prepare to fighting the enemy alone. Sad, very sad, but true.
13. he is right
anton ,   istanbul   (04.18.13)
and points out one big hypocrisy many here cliams west does not support terrorists, west supports al kaida in syria supported taliban in afghanistan back in 80ties supports pjak in iran and many out there we dont know maybe iran just does what she learned from west :)
14. hmm, from what I see
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!! ,   United States   (04.18.13)
it's hard to determine one dictator from another, that's the bad news, the good news is, while they are at war with each other they are less likely to attack Israel or, US and when it's over, their people will still be as they were before, just less of them.
15. Assad is right.Thats how AQ started in Afghanistan
Alan ,   SA   (04.18.13)
The ancestors of the AQ were armed to the teeth by the USA in the battle against USSR. Same will happen in Syria...unfortunately Assad has also climbed into bed with Hezballah and other baddies
16. Are you boykotting my letters?
Ibrahim el-Awal ,   Michigan, USA   (04.18.13)
Again and again I find that you do not publish my letters. Why?
17. Assad
Get Real ,   UK   (04.18.13)
Assad never seems short of statements to make to protect his position and conveniently overlooks his own support for and arming of Palestinian terror groups. Pleased to see US is sending troops to Jordan to advise on defense (or perhaps to train rebels?) Jordan's stability will be even more essential to Israel as Syria breaks up.
18. #16 patience)))
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (04.18.13)
I and a lot of others have had the same experience and I can imagine how you're feeling/what you're thinking about it. What I do now is shorten my comments, change "provocative" words that a "bot" might pick up and repost my comment. It works. Good luck!
19. LOOK who is talking
Abu Yusuf   (04.18.13)
Who are your friends? iRAN Hezbolla
20. Assad mistake .
Lebanese 2 ,   USA   (04.18.13)
From day one call for fair election and let them run the country and walk away with Billions and Billions of dollars. But Assad choose to join Khomeini plan .
21. Syria & Assad
JudKast ,   Kimball USA   (04.21.13)
This President that is hanging on in Syria is only concerned with himself, his power and does not care for the Syrian people. He should have stepped down last year. Yet he has caused the death of 70,000 plus and thinks its not his fault. Such power egotists need to be eliminated and he knows that his power reign is short and will do what he can to sustain what power he has left.
