We don't so often hear good news from university campuses. G-d bless Daniel and all his fellow Yale students.
6. And like many young Israeli nowadays...
Beautiful Haifa   (04.18.13)
...he has zero plans to come back to live in Israel. Sad, really.
7. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.18.13)
Don't bet on it. Of all the foreign students that come to the United States to study, Israel actually ranks first in the number of students who return to Israel. The ones most likely to remain in the United States come from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. In that order.
8. Ariel University can learn from Yale, allow PA Arabs in
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.18.13)
...and stop discriminating.
9. Congrats Daniel

Establish your foundations to benefit the land of your birth.
10. Congrats!!
(04.18.13)
Dear Daniel Avraham, University of Minnesota Students Supporting Israel are very proud of you! We all know how many prejudice ideas people have about Israel and Israelis on college campuses, so hopefully this is not the case in Yale. We are sure that you'll make all Israeli students proud of your achievements, and we want to congratulate you and wish you all the best in your new role and any future accomplishments!!
11. That's silly, Steve: the PA is at war with Israel, not Yale!
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (04.18.13)
As you know, Steve, many of Ariel University's students are Arabs. Once the PA ends its war with Israel, I am sure the Arabs living under that jurisdiction will be able to sign up, too -- just as Bir Zeit and other universities under PA jurisdiction will no doubt start admitting Israelis!

You live in fantasy land.3-4 years in Ivy league worth a fortune and financial return in Israel will be mediocre at best.
14. How can this be?
Daniel   (04.18.13)
How can an Israeli student be elected president of the students at Yale? After all, I've been told again and again by the Israeli media that US campuses are seething hotbeds of antisemitism and Jewish students are in mortal danger of being lynched on a daily basis.
15. hope he is not an anti Israel Israeli
bernard ross   (04.18.13)
Its hard to believe a pro Israel Israeli would be elected
16. Stay Jewish
Eli ,   Israel   (04.18.13)
I hope he doesn't lose his identity like many western Jews. Whats more important is that he doesn't get too comfortable and sell his soul like many Jews in the west do. Keep the family Jewish, marry a Jewish girl and make lots of Jewish babies. We see too many privilege Jews in America who lose their souls. Natalie Portman comes to mind, what a disappointment.

18. Yale student union keep an eye on your bank account

19. A word of caution
Nechama ,   Sydney   (04.19.13)
Mazal tov on this wonderful achievement. But a word of caution. Many a Marxist has been 'educated' at Yale. And Yale is also connected to some things most people don't understand. This probably has undertones of many shades of grey.
20. Yale
David Sternlight ,   Los Angeles, US   (04.19.13)
With the election of an Israeli student union president, Yale has come a very long way from its days with a Jewish Quota until the early 1950's.
21. Another victory for secular education
Haim ,   TA   (04.21.13)
Gee i wonder how many of the harideem will go on to become world leaders, surgeons saving peoples lives or discover the cure for cancer? Instead of brain washing young minds who will go on to sponging off the state their entire lives, not working, dodging the draft and not paying taxes.
22. Ben

Won an election without an opponent. What an accomplishment!
23. Election was uncontested
James   (07.07.20)
The election was uncontested; hardly an accomplishment to get elected when you have no opponents
