31. So are leftists
Rachel ,   US   (04.22.13)
This guy is a real loon!
32. #28 take some lessons in history 1st
eli ,   Yerushalayim   (04.22.13)
Ariel Sharon was not assassinated. He suffered a stroke a few months after he evicted Jews from Gush Kativ. He is still alive. Since then we got thousands of explosives from there. This one of the reasons, why many people in Israel don't believe anymore in "land for peace".
33. #27 Britain,France not commanded by G-d to settle US,Canada
Sam ,   Canada   (04.22.13)
Jews have a biblical connection to Israel and the West Bank. That may not be important to non-Jews or some secular Jews but it is important to many Jews. Jews are not settling Switzerland or Argentina. They are settling the land specified to them in the bible. Even so, most Jews would compromise with Palestinians for peace whereas Palestinians refuse to do so. In the absence of peace Jews will continue to settle the land. They are not going to wait around for Palestinians to have a change of heart.
34. 28 "they assassinated Ariel Sharon"?
Charles   (04.22.13)
Step away from the meds.
35. Obama: Settler violence against Palestinians goes unpunished
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.22.13)
"Put yourself in their shoes – look at the world through their eyes. It is not fair that a Palestinian child cannot grow up in a state of her own, and lives with the presence of a foreign army that controls the movements of her parents every single day. It is not just when settler violence against Palestinians goes unpunished. It is not right to prevent Palestinians from farming their lands; to restrict a student’s ability to move around the West Bank; or to displace Palestinian families from their home. Neither occupation nor expulsion is the answer. Just as Israelis built a state in their homeland, Palestinians have a right to be a free people in their own land."
36. #35
deavman ,   Acco, Israel   (04.22.13)
Steve. This quote is almost something I would see as legitimate if a bit ignoring the roots of the whole situation.Nonetheless reasonable. And yet because of your past comments on other articles, I am forced to ignore it as I will ignore everything else you will ever write anywhere. Peace...if you want it.
37. Sharon's stroke was caused by injection.
Miron ,   USA   (04.22.13)
He was assassinated.
38. #35 Most Pals want BOTH West Bank+ Israel+ refuse compromise
Sam ,   Canada   (04.22.13)
Palestinians want the West Bank for a state and the door left open to taking Israel through a right of return or war. Palestinians want a Palestinian Muslim state for themselves but reject a Jewish majority state for Jews. Why then should Jews give a bleep what Palestinians want?
39. #14. Judea/Samaria belong to Israel & make Israel viable.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.22.13)
#14. Israel's legal ownership of Judea and Samaria has been incontrovertibly proven by many world leading international law experts. Including even Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242. Moreover, it is obvious to any literate child, capable of reading a map, that Judea and Samaria make Israel viable. Without Judea and Samaria, Israel would be a 9 mile wide concentration camp.
40. Benassi - you calling for an Indian revolt against you?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (04.22.13)
Put yourself in their shoes – look at the world through their eyes. It is not fair that a native American child cannot grow up in a state of her own, and lives with the presence of a foreign army that controls the movements of her parents every single day. It is not just when settler violence against native Americans goes unpunished. It is not right to prevent native Americans from living and hunting and fishing on their lands; to restrict a native's ability to move around Minnesota; or to displace native families from their homes in Silver Bay or Minneapolis. Neither occupation nor expulsion is the answer. Just as Israelis built a state in their homeland, native Americans have a right to be a free people in their own land." I like it, Steve. When are you leaving Silver Bay and giving your illegal settlement back to the people you stole it from?
41. Israel can't afford to have these lunatics wielding power..
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.22.13)
Israel's voters have made it clear, time and time again, that they know Judea and Samria are ours. They know Judea and Samaria make Israel viable. The time has come to end the destructive power of a small number of radical leftists like Ben Yair. We simply can't afford to have these lunatics yielding power, and inflicting their lunacy on the vast sane majority.
42. #36, Jews care only about Jews, bring hate upon themselves
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.22.13)
43. "in which the settlers and the IDF are coordinated."
split ,   US   (04.22.13)
Heheh, not exactly the most moral Army and the light to others nation ,...
44. # 35
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (04.22.13)
It's not Israels fault that the Pals have refused a state several times. The child you speak of should blame her leaders for her troubles. They are using her to make themselves and Sufa Arafat rich.
45. Seriously?
John   (04.22.13)
Darfur = over 250,000+ deaths Settlements = Anyone got a number? Very logic Mr. AG.
46. Really? worse than mass shootings? slave labor? killing fiel
Shneerhere ,   Chicago   (04.22.13)
worse than killing fields to the tune of 3 million? Are there storerooms full of skulls like Pol Pot arranged for his countrymen? Are Pali women routinely serially raped like Stalin's henchmen did? This attorney general is delusional and dangerous. If this Israeli leadership, then just give the keys over to the Arabs now and be done with it!!!
47. Idiots like yourself are a lot more dangerous
Hannah ,   Jerusalem   (04.22.13)
Come and live here and learn a little of history of the land, then talk. Now you sound like a parrot repeating all the nonsense from liberal media.
48. Israel should just take back everything
MBH ,   Palm Beach USA   (04.22.13)
Including Sinai. Take it all back and then no more settlement issue to complain about.
49. Muslim settlers and occupiers are not evil
Raphael ,   Netanya   (04.22.13)
This juwish Uncle Tom clearly never visited Northern Cyprus, some 00miles aay from Haïfa. He never heard avout the 20 million muslim unsollicited guests who are creating "liberated areas" over Europe, starting with Kossovo where they expelled the Serbs. Most suburbs of Paris or Brussels are now "judenrein" thanks to their usual colonial tactics. And this idiot makes a fuss about building homes in desert areas!
50. Anoither loser.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (04.22.13)
This guy, needs to be in therapy. He is an anti-zionist who has no respect for himself, Judaism or israel. HIs children will marry goyim and live abroad.
51. For those who don't remember, the 1992 Israeli government
Logic ,   Israel   (04.22.13)
was the most left leaning one in decades, included Meretz in the government, and initiated the Oslo Accords. In retrospect, it was Israel's version of the current US administration.
52. Steve Benassi
(04.22.13)
Oh Steve Benassi it’s difficult to be in opposition so why not join the legitimate group unless you are made with different type of clay.
53. Ben-Yair - more proof of the left's lack of a moral compass
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.22.13)
Settlements worse than the Iron Curtain? Or the killing fields of Cambodia? Or Rwanda? Worse than Syria's Hama, the gassings of Hussein's Iraq, the oppressions of the Taliban, and the prisons of Islamic Iran? Ben-Yair's comments suggest he's completely lost it. It's often the case that the left, lacking a convincing argument, just goes so beyond the pale they wander into the world of the ridiculous and the unreal.
54. To mark in Cleveland
Sam1am ,   FC, Calif   (04.22.13)
Unfortunately you confused your comfort zone with people life in a war zone.....sit quietly in Cleveland and mind your Chicks
55. To wannabe Golda
Sam1am ,   FC, Calif   (04.22.13)
Your comment is authentic as your handle, get a life rather than acting like someone with brains
56. Stupid
Zachary ,   Baltimore, MD USA   (04.22.13)
"the most evil and immoral act since...World War II." to make such ridiculous remarks tell me nothing about the subject and everything I need to know about the writer.
57. #49 and similar: the settlement policy IS
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (04.23.13)
dispicable because it is built on a lie; the lie that we have a right to take what no longer belongs to us, regardless of the cost to other people(s). It is cold, calculated, cynical and wrong. Period. And the settlers and people of Israel who truly believe that we have a legal right to be there are as much victims as the "Pals."
58. #24 The shame is yours.
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (04.23.13)
Since when does being Jewiish require us to forget that we too are human beings? Hyperbole aside, the AG is correct. The settlement policy has hardened our hearts and calloused our very soul as a people.
59. #10 - neither are true
William ,   Israel   (04.23.13)
Only the ICJ made a ruling on the matter, and it did so under the narrow perspective and hyperbole in the requesting document which already labeled the settlements illegal. The ICJ ruling is, and always will be, non-binding and with it, nothing more than an amorphous guidance. No court has definitively ruled on the legality of the settlements nor the land on which they sit which to this day has never been proven to be private land. Intl Law allows for the return of populations ethnically cleansed through war and illegal conquest of land, and under such, Jews are permitted to reside in the West Bank in a reversal of the Arab war crimes of 1949. Humanity rights? Which ones are violated? No one asked the Arabs to start a major genocidal war after several massacres of Jews. And as such, the mere existence of a Jewish village on barren hilltops that were not used for agriculture or grazing is not a human rights violation unless the site of Jews disgusts you. And if they do, you have a bigger problem. Finally, morality does state that Jews should be allowed to return to land that they were ethnically cleansed from and was promised in the intl vote of the league of nations in 1922. Now, what's more Moral than upholding the very laws and intl votes originally made on the issue decades prior, despite the political positions today?
60. #13- Yeah, Anat Kam thought the same thing
William ,   Israel   (04.23.13)
And like the lefties who are full of self-righteous indignation, Ben-Yair will be sidelined as a selfish nut and will be a minority in Israel....just as others in his camp which continually get voted out of office. Like MK Gal-On, her squeaky tirades still don't dismiss the fact that she's at the back of the line.
