During my trip to Israel last month, a friend and I drove through the narrow streets of the ultra-orthodox Mea Shearim (100 Gates) area in Jerusalem. One thing that stood out was that there was trash all over their streets which was quite surprising since they are so conservative—usually conservatism also breeds order and cleanliness. Trash belongs to garbage bins... and they should be made to clean up their streets and get into the habit of doing it.

its really interesting how anti-semitism is kosher when it deals with people who wear black hats but not kosher when it deals with anne frank. watch what you say and make an honest assessment of your heart: are you a bigot? are you falling prey to the same sort of hatred that drives the arabs or drove european antisemitism?

be educated in hi technology by the state for free. Then they should be hired first. Those that contributed two or more years of their youth deserve to be rewarded before draft dodgers. Of course you would never see such a story of haredi boys making any high-tech discoveries. They are solely involved in more important studies to waste their time learning useless things like math, engineering, science, or computing.

Frankly, I didn't understand the comparison to a "mammography device," but who am I to measure up to those Haredi genius women? There is hope, hurray, there is hope to Israel. If only her husband doesn't slow her down, or stones are not thrown at her ...

go to the Sheirut leumi? I don't get it. If the Hredi girls have ever had an excuse why don't they go the the national serviece, now it's meaningless. Whatever those girls are coped with, they have the same obstacles as there is in the Shirut leumi. The one and only difference is that Shirut leumi is volunteer, and those girls are rush to make money and to give birth. When I hear those news, it's acually hurts me.

We, the Torah Jews, have a right to live according to our own ancient principles, which are the basis for the Jewish survival and which have been followed by our fathers (including those of the seculars) for many centuries. Those who want to work - work; those who want to serve in the army - serve; those who want to study Torah full-time - study. We give to the state more than we get from it. And it's not to this immoral and corrupt secular society to preach to us justice and patriotism. Please leave us alone! Better turn your attention to the Arabs and the African infiltrators.

Through their good work, involvement in society and economy, by delivering quality products, through setting example to other Haredi women. No need to complain, only to wish there were more like them. As a woman, the greatest contribution YOU can make is to teach Harediot that women are not baby making machines, that their minds and spirits are as important, and more important at times than their wombs. Teach them that they should be proud of themselves and not yield to discrimination by men even if those men carry titles.

Sorry folks, haredi women have been working in hi-tech for years now. I don't get what is the news here. About 40% of haredi girls go on to study computers after high school. Mock the harediim all you want, but keep in mind the following; compare percentages of how many 18 year old college students dodge the IDF and compare what they go to study and what their reason for not serving in the army is. There are a lot of haredi men studying accounting, law, management, hi-tch..., and no Ora they are still considered harediim. The fact is if the news has to compliment a large group of harediim then they just won't write about it. It doesn't fit the agenda of making the harediim look bad.
