1. Lesson for Israel to learn;solidarity.
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (04.25.13)
Rocket attacks against, for instance Ashdod, is part of the destruction of Israel ,therefore is not Ashdod s problem, but ISRAEL s problem.
2. Rabbi Auerbach should be tried as a traitor
Haim ,   TA   (04.25.13)
The man is inciting anarchy and openly encouraging people to disobay the law. All citizens are bound by the law if his royal holliness has a problem with that , then he can leave the country with his flock only im not sure they will find another state that will allow them to live of welfare all their lives for free.
3. rabbi auerbach
peter ,   tel aviv   (04.25.13)
the venerable rabbi is sitting on the rabbinical court and thus receiving his salary by the state and the public. His calls for refusal to respond to the draft alone should be cause to fire him and cancel his salary. A call from the army threatens all the Jewish people? Go and get checked for dementia cause if not the IDF what protects the Jewish people and please do not give me the baloney of your prayers and studies Face the facts the free ride is over for you , for the port workers and for the electricity company. No more milking. And here are a few more facts no Moses did not walk around with a black coat and a fur hat. No Moses did not speak yiddish. And no Nor Moses nor the people of Israel will be hold hostage by your outrages demands. Serve and work and become a true part of this state otherwise please leave and go to Lithuania or where ever you seem to miss it so much in anyway.
4. Less than 1% of US Military are Jews, 11% of Senate
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.25.13)
5. Can you imagine Haredim could make up their own mind and not
Ali Baba ,   Israel   (04.25.13)
be programmed like robots by their Rabbis? The entire rabbinical institution has become a sham with a few exceptions. When HKBH gave us the Torah He gave it in plain and simple language so that all could understand it and follow it. Rabbis were only consulted when something wasn't clear. Then (in our days) the "rabbis" decided this is something they could do (exploit) to gain power, influence, prestige and "honor" not to mention make a living. Is there a single Haredi man (or woman) who is allowed to make up their own mind about anything or who have actually read the Torah? All they know is what their rabbis have taught them and nothing beyond.
6. #3 - totally incorrect
Shalom Hartman   (04.25.13)
He does not get any money from the state, and does not sit on the government rabiinate board.
7. HE WANTS TO KEEP ALL IN POVERTY
AA ,   New York   (04.25.13)
THE SERVICE IN THE ARMY IS WHAT HASHEM WANTS N. WOULD THEY RATHER BE WITHOUT A STATE WITH ALL ITS HELP . HOW WOULD THEY BE ABLE TO STAY AND LEARN IF THEY DI NOT VOLUNTEER
8. No service, no welfare.
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (04.25.13)
The haredim who refuse to serve should not be arrested (free housing, free meals) or verbally abused, as that demeans the speaker. They should simply be cut off from public funding. Their schools, homes, synagogues. If they are not citizens of Israel, they should support themselves 100%.
9. DO NOT SUPPORT ANYBODY LIKE THAT
AA ,   New York   (04.25.13)
10. It is the free choice of people who are drafted to refuse
Rivkah   (04.25.13)
to serve in the military and go to jail instead. There they can study Torah and Tanakh and refuse to work, too, at taxpayer expense. In the US, it costs about $50,000. a year per person to house and feed and care for a prisoner. Pastor Jim Bakker went to prison and studied the book of Revelation in particular as well as the entire Protestant Bible and he is still teaching from what he learned while in prison. But if the yeshiva students do take up arms and serve in the IDF, then Exodus (2 Mosheh) 15:3 shows the Lord will be with them, "YHWH is a man of battle, YHWH is His Name." The Lord is a man of war as well as the High Priest and Creator of the Universe. He is not beneath fighting battles.
11. #4 :-)

12. #6 (re:#3) So almost "totally incorrect" then.
Carlos K. ,   California, USA   (04.26.13)
Except for the tidbit (and I will take you word on it), everything else checks.
13. Why pussyfoot around?. Just call them for what they are.
Charles M.   (04.26.13)
Traitors that Judea's enemies are pleased they are taking this action against Israel.
14. #4
Steve ,   Dallas USA   (04.26.13)
Talent goes where it is needed. Always. In WWII, almost 600,000 Jews served in the armed forces of the US, a far higher proportion than Gentile service. Their service was needed. Right now, Jews make up 15% of the doctors in the US, and similar proportions of other high prestige, high intelligence professions and positions (CEOs etc) Because talent goes where it is needed. And remember Jews are probably not even 2% of the US population. If you find yourself in kind of a low prestige position- well just keep that in mind.
15. I sure am glad that our ancestors were not like this
Golani ,   Vineland, USA/Israel   (04.26.13)
I am modern orthodox, I served proudly in the IDF, and reserves. Thank G-d that our ancestors did not say, "do not serve in the army, do not protect the Children of Israel, you families and nation" If they had, our Tanach would sure have been different and we as a nation and people would only be ancient history. Serve proudly and protect the nation and your families.
16. Haredi leaders = desecration of...
Jay Abouaf ,   Jaffa Israel   (04.26.13)
These Haredi leaders are desecrating the Torah. Their words are vile and dangerous and sacrilegous.
17. #6, Whoever pays him could do better by feeding turtles.
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.26.13)
Plenty of rabbis are being paid from tax money. And even if not, if they are paid from a schnorr, it is shameful on Israel to tolerate it. Supporting parasitic existence should stop, to set the course for a better future, to show the followers the noble way of supporting themselves through useful work.
18. #11,#14, Jews have co-opted America to fight Israel's wars
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.26.13)
19. steve #4 love you
arne ,   chicago usa   (04.26.13)
there's nothing like a good jew hater to reafirm my love for israel-and my people.the deeper the hate the deeper the love.
20. #19, I was pro-Israel until Ariel Sharon ended peace process
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.26.13)
...by entering the Temple Mount with over 1,000 security guards, in a publicity stunt to get elected PM of Israel. 9/11 occurred less than one year later, and the rest is history, $trillions spent, a million dead.
21. Clear dispute among Hareidi leaders
Aaron Kuperman ,   Baltimore, MD   (04.26.13)
Some are calling for immediate resistance and civil disobedience, whereas the moderates are proposing filling out the paperwork and postponing the confrontation until summer in the hope some compromise can be reached. Most hareidim will be relucant to be forced into an alliance with the Israeli left or the Palestinians, and want to give the zionists time to reconsider before beginning massed civil disobedience. A confrontation doesn't benefit the hareidim, and it could cripple Israel , since persecuting Jews for being too Jewish and not warlike enough and for being religious fanatics would probably violate international human rights standards and discredit the zionist movement in the eyes' of its Christian supporters.
22. 5 Ali. Sesame ,open your mind...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (04.27.13)
