2. no shame at all
Ilana   (05.03.13)
no they have no shame. A criminal heads a religious party! A greater farce, G-d has not yet witnessed!
3. I think think that god either has no shame(he'd have said
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.03.13)
something long time ago) or he simply is not there, which is the most logical conclusion... No wait, there is one more possibility: he IS there and his name is Allah (the Merciful)- then it all makes sense :-)
4. Do Deri "cures" also fix stupididy?
Alfredo ,   Raanana   (05.03.13)
5. deri and shabbat
caleb ,   israel   (05.03.13)
He is indeed a convicted criminal but IMO they singled him out among others for their own agenda. Probably most of the MKs could be brought down if there was a need as we have seen in other cases. Curious question though: is the Shabbat a cure all for all Jews observant or not? BTW I am not a supporter of Shas at all!

8. #3 tom: He DID say something a long time ago...
Israeili Jew ,   Israel   (05.03.13)
The Ultra-Orthodox contradict what He said, so don't try to blame any of their European Medieval reforms and superstitions on Him. Makes you no less a simpleton than them!
9. why condemning only the religious one?
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (05.03.13)
They want and pretend to be a (religious) beacon, an example for all Israelis and the bad seculars. So, why they make than a convicted ex-criminal chairman of Shas, a beacon for what, for whom?
10. MR DERI - SHABBAT CURED NOTHING AT AUSCHWITZ
stude ham   (05.03.13)
nor will shbbat ever cure the taint of your corrupt past.

Sarah   (05.03.13)
In my books, Deri is not religious. Crime and religion cannot go hand in hand. Ilana is 100% correct.
12. #8:If believing man made set of rules as coming from Above
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.03.13)
or just plainly searching for answers with reason and basic, human moral compass, I choose the latter. Count me as the most simple(ton) guy on Earth. No, you don't need HIM to have moral life but that's another, long story.....

I cannot stand either of those PMs. Your condemning me and you have no idea what my beliefs are.
14. Look who's talking, the devil himself.

Thinking Jew ,   Israel   (05.03.13)
There are billions of individual "reasonings" and "basic human moral compasses." What makes YOUR "reason" with YOUR "basic human moral compasses" any better than theirs? You're not even the most simpleton. Just another shallow opiner among the innumerable simpletons.
16. He could be right
Taxpayer ,   Hod Hasharon   (05.03.13)
Considering that the Ayatollah Yosef had a stroke last weekend - it could well be that the evil get their just resorts on Shabbat
17. African women
Shifra ,   Israel   (05.03.13)
What sort of Israeli newspaper carries blatant advertisements on their leading articles, "It is exciting, meet African beauties"...a clear path to high-priced sexual liaisons? Front page, where every child can see the ad. What have we come to in Israel?

Very true but it was proven tat the money he took wasnt for himself .. While the others were taken for them selfs ... Why only attacking te religious .. Non religious also have to be honest ?. Not to keep the toreh is 1.thing but to be honest is a other think
20. Rabbi Yaakov Yosef of blessed memory
David Jacobs ,   Hasmonaim, Israel   (05.03.13)
Aryeh Deri is as low as an individual can be. It is hard to believe that he could have pressured Rav Ovadia Yosef to appoint him leader of Shas during the 30 day mourning period for his son Rav Yaakov Yosef who died from cancer. Rabbi Yaakov Yosef of blessed memory would have opposed and stopped the appointment of Aryeh Dery. As we all know Deri supported Oslo and the giving of rifles to Israel's enemies. He also supports a Palestinean State and backed the Hebron Accords.

Ok.... But here ur only condeming him because he's religious .. Honesty is for every human being religious or not !!!!
22. Carrying out the garbage or taking it to work?
Mea   (05.03.13)
Interesting choice of photos, Ynet. Another example of a politician too dumb to factor in that media could snap a shot of him leaving for the office. You would think he would have the help take out the garbage bag.

Moshe ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.03.13)
Actually, Aryeh Deri lives in a rather small, modest apartment in Har Nof. He certainly doesn't hire any "help" to take out his trash. I'm not a fan of Deri politically by any means (to put it mildly), but your snotty, elitist comment compelled me to reply. The fact that you think a picture of a person performing domestic chores makes him look "dumb", tells us far more about you than it does about the person in question.
25. garbage????
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (05.03.13)
Aryeh likes financial and other austerity. So, he still uses the same bag where he put his clothes and personal belongings that he carried with him when he left prison. Took bribes? After, I see this picture: I don't know anymore. Tears welling up in my eyes,…
