1. Seems whoever wins the war, Syria will be led by an idiot
Charles   (05.13.13)
Kudos to this rebel leader getting a head start on showing the world he is insane. Doesn't look like Syria has any hope for anything..
2. Israel's sole purpose in Syria
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (05.13.13)
israel's sole purpose in syria is to keep assad from transferring advanced weapons to Islamic terrorists like hezbollah. it is noteworthy that saleh, commander of the al-tawhid brigade, wants to get his hands on advanced weapons that would be denied to hezbollah.
3. NEWS FLASH! We don't trust anyone with those weapons
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (05.13.13)
4. Arab fantasy rediculous tales
rands ,   tlv israel   (05.13.13)
Arabs are devided with their herd hatred to Israel to 2 parts: 1 Israel is against the rebels pro Iran 2/ Israel is against Asad pro the rebels and both theories solidly enshrined and valid throughout the levant
5. I think Israel and the west must...
Chris.B ,   Australia   (05.13.13)
understand now that Assad wont fall any time soon and the imported Jihadis against him are a bigger danger.America France, England,Turkey,Saudi Arabia and the others must have lost their minds training and arming Al quada to atack Syria its lunacy that will blow back in their faces.A stable Syria is good for Israel the occupied Golan has been peaceful for a long time! Thanks to Assad,
6. There is hope for Syria yet
zionist foever   (05.13.13)
As usual when it comes to Israeli involvement in anything there is always a conspiracy about evil Israel wanting to stop our noble cause. So if the rebels are already moaning about Israel teaming up with their enemies to stop them getting the weapons then maybe Syria does have a brighter future than first thought because it shows arab logic hasn't changed. The idea of an Alawite state is probably the best one for the country itself. Create an alawite state where the traditionally persecuted alawite minority can rule over themselves Long term it wouldn't last but it may survive long enough for tensions to calm then rejoin the rest of Syria. With any luck though this war is going to last a long time yet and the more they kill each other the more damage they will do and the more it will keep them off Israels back
7. Shitstorm in the Levant

10. SYRIA, WE AND THE REST OF MANKIND ON OUR PLANET OF EARTH, FO
SJOERD VAN DER VELDE ,   OUR PLANET OF EARTH   (05.13.13)
FOR THE TIME BEING... IN PRINCIPLE/AT FIRST IT IS TO THE SYRIAN PEOPLE, TO CHOOSE A PARLIAMENT/GOVERNMENT/DIRECT DEMOCRACY, WITHIN THE SYRIAN TERRITORY. THE SAME GOES FOR EVERY OTHER COUNTRY, WITH A POPULATION AND FOR THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE.
11. Syria
Edouard ,   Montrealcanada   (05.13.13)
With some luck this civil war will last an other 10 years and by then what will remain from Syria will not be a danger for israel
12. 11
zionist forever   (05.13.13)
AGREED I hope that Syria is Iraq 2 They will loose their strong president and then spend the next 10 year killing each other and no matter how hard the outside world tried to help them them just keep on killing each other. Will also silence the idiots calling for us to return the Golan
13. I want to wish both Rebels and Assadniks best of luck murder
Alan ,   SA   (05.13.13)
ing each other Israel can have no benefit from either.
14. Syria is cursed.
Beni B ,   Baltimore   (05.13.13)
Syria wanted to see Israel go down. Now the Syrians are killing each other. Stupid Rebels sided with Al Qaida. Catch-22 indeed. -- Happy shooting.
15. There is a saying
Isac   (05.13.13)
that the so called "Palestinians" never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. That is to apply for all the Arabs in the entire Arab world. Can somebody show me please one Arab State where there is anything closed to "normality?' I agree with the previous article commentators. You insane guys in Syria keep on butting your heads. That is probably in the best interest for Israel since nothing good and only evil will come out of any future Syrian leader.
16. #11 optimist
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.13.13)
You are an optimist. The disasters that followed the Oslo Accords and ethnic cleansing of Gush Katif, including Israel's loss of support, increased antisemitism, deficit, wars, death and bombardment of the South was supposed to silence the idiots calling for surrendering Judea and Samaria, but they didn't Trust me: soon you will hear the Leftists bleating that Israel surrender of Golan to whichever butcher takes over Syria is critical to world peace.
17. Anyway,,,,, Whatever,,,,,,
Linda ,   New Haven, Conn.   (05.13.13)
This Israel will not be the one to bring Peace to the Middle East and the world as prophesied. We'll just wait on the New Jerusalem. Isrrael you got yourself in a pickle and it ain't Kosher.
18. Lose, Lose, Lose....no future for Syria
Koose E Mack ,   NY NY   (05.13.13)
It seems that there is no middle of the line for the Sunni/Shia struggle to murder the inhabitants of Syria. If they get rid of Assad, they will have to deal with Sunni Islamo Fascists. In any case...it's a lose/lose proposition for Syria, The Middle East and the West.
19. Israel allied with Assad/Hezb/Iran???
No arms for terror   (05.14.13)
This is the newest but demented version of the "Tales of a 1001 Nights"...however this one is very much lacking the charm and intelligence found in the old classic one. For Israel to ally itself with its mortal enemies (all barking for the extermination of the Jews and the destruction of Israel) requires one to abandon all claims at rationality and a willingness to accept self-delusions as facts. Israel does NOT want anyone to attack it...ergo it does and will prevent any group from acquiring more lethal weapons than they already possess. Unfortunately, Israel cannot constrain either Russia or Iran thus Israel's imperious need to thwart Hezbollah's, Syria's and Iran's schemes for covert weapons transfers. The Al-Qaida linked rebels in Syria are just as dangerous to Israel as the pro-Assad enemies of Israel thus Israel's recent actions on this matter.
