So far, Erdogan has blown a ton of hot air and is cementing his reputation as the mouse that roared. After the atrocity in Reyhanli, if Erdogan does nothing to retaliate against the Assad regime, he stands to lose political face. Let's see which way it goes now that Assad is blaming Turkey for the bombing.

Face it, unless it was a military target (say Chechen terrorists based in Turkey), it makes no sense that Assad would attack the Turks at Reyhanli. That leaves only two possible perpetrators: Iran (might want to draw Turkey and Obama into a Syrian war) or Sunni Jihad (want Obama military support to defeat Assad). As he and Turkey get flushed down the sewer thanks to his mismanagement, Erdogan should contemplate whether it was worth it attacking Israel.

syria is a tough foe for certain and the assad family cannot shake off their father's blind hatred of israel. Assad could do business with israel though he had to acknowledge israeli sovereignty of golan in return for israeli recognition of his control of lebanonn. Otherwise peace will not be assured. Yet assad unlike olmert, fights for his position( yes with nasrollah and the fake ayatollah regime of n ada killers). And turkish endorsement of rebel tactics may have caused thebombings since that is what they do. However, notwithstanding 50000 hezbollah militia assisting him with iranian material, if war comes to israel, general yaalon is in charged not barak or mofaz, one a reluctant commando lousy at land warfare, the other a sloppy general who appointed the misfit halutz, an incompetent chief of staff to this day he does not know what a succcessful outcome is. He goes on about changing the consicousness of the enemy. Talk like this is disconnected from reeality much as barak would say hamas suffered a blow. How about, 20000 killed, 20 towns taken or laid waste, all fuel depots knocked out, communications destroyed, bridge bombed etc as a better index of performance. Certanly erdgoan who talks tough turns out to be cheap coward fearful of assad
