1. Agree,most of the analysis is true,BUT some is outdated
Mekava Hunter ,   Lebanon   (05.18.13)
We have already had training on these legendary rockets. Israel will be surprised as was surprised before. The order is given and clear. In the case of an Israeli attack the respond is imminent this time. In the case the situation is to escalating to a full scale attack ,within the first 3 minutes ,10000 rockets should have already landed in the most strategic /industrial area of Israel including Dimona. Israel will enjoy a rocket rain beyond the capacity of Iron Dome /patriotic etc... for an extended time. How long ?Multiply 33 days by 3 . Israeli war planes won't have a free ride any more on the Lebanese sky, believe me and I know what I am talking about. I will among the attacking brigades that enter Galilee first.
2. Exactly !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (05.18.13)
3. win-win
jack ,   dark side of the moo   (05.18.13)
So far its a win-win situation for them, - attempting to eliminate Israeli oil industry through their proxy and boosting their low popularity at home with own military action. They should have been approached in the way that make it clear of negative consequences to them. For Putler its a risk to get a treatment of Chaushescu, Kadaffi and Saddam. But also the preasure on him at home to keep oil/gas prices high.
4. putin has been playing a double game
mifta   (05.18.13)
like he warned USA about tsarnaev without giving details. Or like he wants israeli drone technology while he sells syria israeli secrets and s-300. Its enough. Israel has to do what is good for it andyaalon and bennett, not bibi will decide for israel. Meanwhile, russian should be kept at some distance as that state is corrupt and primary supplier of terrorr. Yeltsin woke the state up for a few moments and then stupid berezowksi recommended putin, an autocrat as PM. He has been a disaster for russia and the world.
5. The noose gets tighter
Eliyahu ,   US   (05.18.13)
If Russia is arming and assisting Syria, what makes anyone think they will not do the same for Iran? Counting on Obama and the lefties who are tearing apart the U.S. will soon be clear was a tragic mistake. Have you foolish wonders not done a background check on him? Obama’s policies makes one wonder if he is with the MB, (who’s agenda is to destroy the U.S. from within) if that is the case then Israel has put its head in the noose and it will be tightened soon. As for Putin, he claims to be a Christian but he does not believe in the Bible, if he did he would not be in the predicament he is in now. Since he insists on helping the enemies of Israel, Russia will pay a heavy price.
6. Israel wants to strike Russian Military
paco ,   canada   (05.18.13)
Your gov has lost its mind totally, leave Israel before nothing is left from it. The Russians will never ever allow one of their citizens to be harmed by Israel NEVER. They will burn Israel to the ground.. think twice before hitting again anywhere in Syria.
7. All we have to do, is place one banana-peel in the right
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.18.13)
spot where Mr.Putin will put his foot. Preferably on top of long stairs....
8. Picture os S-300
Behnsen ,   Hermeskeil   (05.18.13)
This is a Picture of the S-300V1, aka SA-12b (Giant). This system is not the one which is on delivery (?) to Syria.
9. For Iran's protection, not Syria's.
Isabella1709 ,   Tampa USA   (05.18.13)
But Obama won't know what to do here, nor will his pathetic staff, IE, Hagel, Brenner, et al. Brenner comes to Israel for what?
10. 6 paco
Henry ,   toronto   (05.18.13)
you are hullucinating ! Are you aware that Russian pilots were flying Arab planes in several wars with Israel ? Many were shot out of the sky. The Russians will do little !
11. #1 Better get your running shoes ready
Benji ,   US   (05.18.13)
So you can run home to mama when the going gets tough. By now Israel knows where your weapons are stored and they'll be hit while you're looking back to watch them go up in flames. At least learn to spell Merkeva brave little chest pounder.
12. Israel is a backwater now, nothing more...
Edithann ,   USA   (05.18.13)
Although still capable of irritating and killing innocents and especially the defenseless...Israel is becoming the land that time, brains and real 'men' are already forgetting. Can we say China, Russia, Syria, US..give it up boys, your days of anything are over… No education, no culture, no economy and certainly no future.. .While everyone is trying to handle the turmoil Israel has created in the ME, Israel is trying to settle ancient rivalries amongst themselves as they destroy what’s left of Palestine,. Using settlements to placate their already brain dead population into believing settlements means their future, when all predictions show there is none. Israel didn’t even know they’re broke and one of the poorest states on the planet until last week.. And settlements will revive a non existent Israeli culture, economy etc, etc, .… You’re got to be kidding!!. TATA
13. Dreaming Of The Day The S-300 Blows An Israeli ...
World Citizen ,   the world   (05.18.13)
Jet Out Of The Air. That will be a great day. After that the Israeli government will cry to the Americans but learn that the USA is not going to war with Russia over your continuous provocations. Even the Americans (as stupid as they are) aren't insane.
14. No1 What's a Mekva are referring to
Mike ,   Israel   (05.18.13)
the Israeli tank Merkava? .the same one that ran over the left side of your head. Oh and I will be waiting for you or even visit you in you and we can discus this further. You never learn. 10000rockets lol and this you think scares us? the very sound of our jets you run to the UN holding your mothers hand to protect you.
15. #5 Attacking Iranian nuclear sites is a wishful dream
Sami ,   Lebanon   (05.18.13)
that will never happen. Why? 1- It is beyond Israel capacity. 2- Destroying these nuclear sites will make the whole region of the Persian Golf inhabitable from the radiation that will reach Israel as well .Just think of the Japan nuclear incident that is way less in power that Iranian reactors. The nuclear cloud reached New Zealand.
16. Although most of the logics in this article
Sami ,   Lebanon   (05.18.13)
appear to be right ,I don't see any Israeli advantage or benefit from the current situation that Israel put itself on it. It will never be able to stop Hizbollah from arming. Failed to do that before and will fail again. Destroying 100 rockets, while 10000 can get through won't make big difference beside it makes the next confrontation closer and inevitable. Israeli will be tossing around and upside down before they accept and swallow the reality, that they need learn how to live with a strong Hezbollah backed up by nuclear Iran. The overinflated Israeli military balloon will take its real size sooner or later.
17. Russians often man Arab SAM sites.
Stephen in New York   (05.18.13)
Israel would not attack the Russians unless Russia attacked first, but will not allow game changing weapons to reach Hezbollah. Israel will continue to attack Syria if it has to, regardless of Russian ships offshore. Israel won't interfere with Russian offloading of these weapons and delivering them to Syria. After they are deployed -if they are used against Israel- no doubt Israel will defend itself and attack these systems regardless of who is operating them. Russians have previously died many times in the futile effort to defend Arabs.
18. Russians always operated Arab SAM sites.
Stephen in New York   (05.18.13)

20. What a tangle of dueling players
Cameron ,   USA   (05.18.13)
So very relieved the US has kept it's distance from being pulled into the Bedlam that Syria has collapsed into.
21. The destruction of Israel's enemies
Rick ,   Houston, Texas   (05.18.13)
We are seeing prophecy coming true right before our eyes. Gog and his hoards (Russia) is being set up for destruction per the book of Ezekiel, Chapters 38 and 39. God Himself will bring them down to Israel in order to decimate their armies. Perisa (Iran) will be with them and her armies will also be destroyed. As for Damascus, read Isaiah (17:1) "behold the burden of Damascus, it shall be a ruinous heap." Get ready Israel. The time is short.
22. Russian missiles to Syria
Serge ,   NY USA   (05.18.13)
Forget about Iran and a BIG war coming out of that .... It looks like Russia is trying to repeat some kind of "poker-player-cuban-missiles-crisis" type of a diplomatic play.... And it's hard to imagine "what" they're asking in return NOT to deliver these S-300 missiles .... An Israeli "capitulation" in the peace process with the Palestinians ? other "secure" naval base in the area? A piece of the gas fields that has been discovered off the coast of Israel? One thing I know about this game...Russia is trying to "force" its hand in the region. USA and Israel must play this deadly game with caution, but also showing that if that will be the case, they too would be ready for a possible military confrontation with the Russians . Now, on Israel side, I have no doubt, that Netanyahu and friends can play this game. But how about Obama and his strategy of "leading from behind"? Anyway, whoever blinks first, looses this deadly and very dangerous game!
23. To the Mekhava Hunter
Claude ,   London   (05.18.13)
You say believe me, but on what basis, All the evidence is that Israelis are not fleeing the Galillee or anywhere else, there is no hysteria in the streets I am not a betting man, I prefer long term equity investments, but I am prepared to bet that in the unlikely scenario of a new major conflict with Hezbollah you will Not enter the Israeli Galilee Hezbollah will suffer huge damage and casualties Israeli borders and infrastructure will remain largely intact Huge foreign investment into Israel from China India and even Russia does not suggest most agree with you So long to a soon to be retired or even expired Mekhava Hunter

26. #1
DavidR ,   USA   (05.18.13)
Underestimating your enemy can be fatal.I would suggest you reduce your breast beating and look for another rock or skirt to hide behind. Israel will rain fire upon hezzies.
27. In truth, #1...
Cameron ,   USA   (05.18.13)
you'll be among the first to drop your weapon, and joining the rest of the immense horde of Shiites grunting in panic & running their furry behinds toward the imagined safety of Beirut as Israeli jets begin to transform S. Lebanon into something akin to the Verdun battlefield. The day of Hezbollah launches will also be the day Hezbollah power collapses as the other Lebanese groups turn on them in sheer desperation.
28. to #13 World Citizen
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (05.19.13)
The Russians are not as dull-witted as you. They remember that we have ICBM's and ordinance that can turn any city in the world into ash and glass.
29. It's true Israel keeps attacking Syria. But...
Persian CAT   (05.19.13)
do they really hit anything other than warehouses full of sacks of pistachio nuts?! No proof has been presented by Israel otherwise, just some shot of one or two room buildings. Get real and stop the BS, Mr. Ben Yishai. Where do you come up with all this dribble?
30. #1 Mossad knows where you live.
Ronnie ,   Australia   (05.19.13)
Somewhere in Israel a big map on a wall has a pin in it. Where you sleep.
