31. #24, Gideon..."eggs" are in short supply !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (05.20.13)
32. Lapid, thanks for accelerating the 1S1P1V solution
Ramzi Jaber ,   Palestine   (05.20.13)
1S1P1V - one state, one person, one vote - for all citizens of the democratic and secular State of the Holy Land where Christians, Moslems, and Jews all live together in peace, security, and justice with equal rights and equal responsibilities. This is the only remaining solution given what the zionist regime is doing, planning, and saying.
33. can Bennett continue with Lapid?
ma nishma ,   modiin   (05.20.13)
What seems more strange is Naftali Bennet staying in the government with Lapid. Isn't Bennett for the settlers and opposed to withdrawals. Let's give back Hertzlia instead...
34. ?good looks
david ,   new york   (05.20.13)
in a cro magnon sort of way, i guess
35. Lapid - another lying politician
Ezer   (05.20.13)
Supports Settlers and Ariel just to get elected - once elected - screw them. Mr. Lapid please remember that voters have a long memory.
36. TWO great posts: #17 & #19
Israeli 2   (05.20.13)
LAPID IS OUT. Like father, like son - very true. The electorate catches on and his star is falling.
37. Uniting the Centrist block should be Lapid's goal.
Michael ,   California, USA   (05.20.13)
It is possible for the Centrist block to gain 50% in the next elections. Israelis are tired of extremist positions and of the religious rubble. The tail of 25% in the population has been mercilessly shaking the 75% of the dog's body. Lapid tried to explain it to NYT but they are foreigners ...
38. #21. Israeli concessions & retreats cause war.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.20.13)
#21 Mordechai. Q: What caused Israel's Lebanon Wars? A: Israel's retreat from South Lebanon. Q: What caused Israel's Gaza Wars? A: Israel's retreat from Gaza. Q: What caused more than 900 Israelis to be murdered and more than 14,000 maimed? A: Labor's lunatic Oslo concessions. Israeli concessions and retreats cause not only wars but almost all of Israel's problems.
39. Settler Haim.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (05.20.13)
#12, Haim, you need a lesson in Jewish history. The only Palestinians are the Jews. The Giborai Israel live in Judea and Samaria. I am going to repatriate you and your arab friends to your countries of origin.
40. Settlers will stay in Palestine Israel, 2 States, 1 Country
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.20.13)
Get used to it.
41. 21 & 28
Mordechai ,   Beit Shemesh   (05.20.13)
emotional drivel you both write. rockets r presently pointing at the whole of Israel that are accurate to within metres so all the claptrap about what the settlers do in defending the country is just propaganda of thieves! the difference between you and me is that i live here work pay taxes have children and grandchildren here and you think you have the right to tell me that i am wrong, you don;'t even have the right to open your mouth! sounds like you wants us to send our children to defend the country and if we succeed then you might come, don't bother your sorts we don't need! as to 28 as you know the answers to your questions why bother to write, if it because you need to reinforce them on others likewise don't! why not admit the truth, Amir was right! we all know that your types and rantings fall on deaf ears which hurts you, this time the silent majority made its voice he heard and Lapid is not daft or stupid he heard very well what we want him to do. the question is asked how is it the we r 40b NIS in debt the answer is quite simple the settlers/settlements and the haridim, black holes where all our taxes have gone.
42. #3 it leaves Israel with less of a demographic threat
Vlad   (05.20.13)
43. to #6 - Yair Lapid "repulsive" ? You
miri ,   israel   (05.20.13)
should be half as handsome ! Yair do your best in yr new position and surround yrself with experts in finance (talk to Mr. Stanley Fisher).
44. swollen head
alexi   (05.20.13)
lapid did well in the elections. Suddenly he knows everythin!?? His father kissed olmert's ass and we all saw how the unilateral gaza withdrawal worked out with cast lead and followup and thousands of missiles. So much for the experinece of mitzn which politically is almost worthless. Likewise dagan should stay within military circles and not venture politically since the arab league plan is full of merde and offers israel nothing, zero. So lapid wants to give up the ridges of judea and samaria and jordan valley and repeat the gaza experience but this time aimed at ben gurion. What a shmuck!
45. #41, Your wise reply will not penetrate the closed minds.
Michael ,   California, USA   (05.20.13)
When you read what they say, you know right away that they are among the minority that is irrelevant to history. There is no chance to penetrate their minds, nor their souls.
46. #2: YOU are absolutely correct.
Israeli 2   (05.20.13)
He is also giving Likud a bad name and credence to Meretz and company. Why isn't any Likud member getting down on this guy? Where is Bennet in all of this? Sometimes I get the feeling that every Israeli Party is part of one entire Party called the unreliable Clown Party.
47. To #1 & #2, the educated on both sides are leaving.
Michal ,   USA   (05.20.13)
48. #17 could not have said it any better. I said it from the
Michal ,   Michalistan   (05.20.13)
Said it from the beginning, Lapid had no intention of pushing positive change within Israeli society. He's just another former rich kid, entitled celebrity, who felt the need to follow in daddy's footsteps. This man doesn't give a hoot about ordinary Israelis, near has and never will.
49. #41 shtuyot. from #28
Volvi   (05.20.13)
I have lived and served there. I have children and grandkids there, who are all in danger from leftie nut jobs like you. Havent you already caused enough deaths and misery from your little feeble mindset . Its you wimps that can never learn. But Im not worried the majority of Israel knows all too well what the stupid left have brought the country to, your not in the majority inspite of what you think lapid stands for. your just one of the few hardcore anti religious leftie nuts, probably an old bolshevik has been. your irrelevant to the discourse.
50. This should be the end of Lapid..
Mayim ,   Israel   (05.21.13)
Benneth collaboration,if the latter has the qualities of a leader of vision, which i think he has.
51. #49
Mordechai ,   Beit Shemesh   (05.21.13)
obviously you really hate to have to face the truth as it complete destroys the ideological claptrap you spout. instead of of making stupid and unsubstantiated claims, how about refuting what i wrote about rockets as that is the reality we live under here not whether we hold on to the West Bank as it makes no difference if we do or do not. 40 kilometres are spanned in several seconds by today's rockets. Go and tell Hezbollah that holding on to the West Bank shields us from their rockets, they will laugh at you. time to stop all your fascistic political rhetoric, we all see through it. the silent majority have spoken! Stay where you are that is the best thing you can do for Israel and Israelis!
52. #49 World needs Palestinian-Israel accord
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (05.21.13)
Why do the US and EU focus so much attention on the settlements -aside from the fact that they are flagrant violations of international law? Because the west is also under attack by Islamist Jihadists who foster public ambivalence and confusion by deliberately concealing their true agenda behind the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Remove that cloak by settling the conflict and they will be exposed to all for what they really are: Islamic terrorists, pure and simple. The unsettled state of affairs in Arab-Moslem countries and increasing presence of Moslems in the Western world has created a heightened sense of urgency on the part of the U.S. and EU to remove any ambiguity and misdirected public support produced by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We are fools or worse not to appreciate that we and the world needs a peace agreement more than we need the settlements.
53. Memo to Lapid
Yehuda ,   NYC   (05.21.13)
In the Torah, Hashem acknowledged that thousands of Lapidnicks would someday be uprooted, something he called "heartbreaking." /fixed it.
54. #52 World needs to Stop Jihad,
