Very Hot.
2. Arming Israel has produced "aggressive behavior'"
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.22.13)
Blind support of Israel, has spawned a spoiled brat child, a bully, willing to drag the World into a nuclear war, to get its own way.
3. In one of my previous commentaries, I
Israeli 2   (05.22.13)
noted concern mainly for one thing. ISRAEL will be limited by USA & EUROPE to go full out against our most destructive enemies. If our leadership is, was and will be lapdogs, hell will break as they will play havoc with us. What good will our technology be? "Those who think we'll just press 'Enter' and win the war are wrong."

You can't possibly believe this nonsense. So the question is: do you lie for free or someone is paying you. litvac120

Well, were it not for the fact that the world seems determined to exterminate the Jewish people and bring about the destruction of the State of Israel, the world would not have a problem with us. Do you seriously expect us to allow ourselves to be herded into the twenty-first century equivalent of gas chambers yet again? The words "Never Again" resonate quite strongly with the Jewish people. If you don't like it, too bad.

I see yet another unfortunate explosion in Syria's future ...

and is therefore vulnerable to spoofing. Also my bet is that Barak 8 naval anti-missile system can handle this threat.

Get Real ,   UK   (05.22.13)
Another military chief has his say. It is good that they are all on the same realism-wavelength in recognising the multiple threats that Israel faces. Israel is showing her enemies it is aware, ready and prepared to act as necessary and they will suffer the harsh consequences of any hostilities. Syria may be emboldened by missles but they should not forget that Israel too has more than just defence missles.

Self defense in not aggressive behavior. Israel isn't going to roll over and play dead just to make you and the world happy.
12. Damn screw ups

Because the Arab countries can't get their shit together is why they have war in the region. Believe me Israel is more than happy to continue being the leader in technology/entrepreneurs/College grads...

in people that refuse to get a clue. How many terrorist activities would your state take before wiping out a weapons cache before they could be used? How is it that people don't realize that hatred of Israel and America are taught to Arab children in school? How is it that we are so uneducated that we don't know the difference between sunni and shia? Do you know there are Arab fathers who object to their sons being taught that being a martyr is a worthy goal? do you know that there are Arab fathers who are proud of their son if he murders people? Oh btw...my last two questions are from newspapers. The first was from an article on why an Arab father wants peace. The second is from an Arab newspaper.
15. Sarah b if your intention is that people
American girl ,   USA   (05.22.13)
Support Israel you are failing miserably. I wonder if you realize that some people might be negatively influenced by your comments. Perhaps that is what you want.
16. #12 Actually its a good thing arab countries
A ,   Belgium   (05.22.13)
can't get their shit together, Israel might well have a serious problem on their hands. Luckily, they are too busy lying to each other, murdering each other and stabbing each other in the back to pose any kind of united front.
17. My post 7 simply sloppy

conflating the Russian Yak-whatever naval missile with the S-300, sorry.

What you may ask? Why GTNWW (Global Thermo-Nuclear World War); WW III. Israelis have the power, several times over, to snuff the entire planet all by themselves. So...

They are hust en route.
24. Just a curious question
JLB ,   USA   (05.22.13)
I know it might sound a bit ignorant, but I really am wondering why the IAF doesn't destroy the missles currently facing TLV BEFORE the Russian shipment arrives. Obviously this shipment will go to Hezbollah and will need to be destroyed, which will in turn cause Assad to fire on Israel. Everyone knows that Israel is going to eventually get involved so why doesn't the IDF do some more preemptive stiles?
25. Israel must change it's tactics ASAP
Observer   (05.22.13)
Russia EU and US must learn that Israel is not their military testing grounds. Israel must strike the threatening countries with nuclear power with full force. Waiting will just delay this and eventually it will come to that.
26. Let the Russians 'honour' their contract
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (05.22.13)
to deliver these missiles.....begging won't deter them to do so Destroy them on the quay or port of entry to Syria the minute they change hands. Et voila, fait accompli

I take the Machiavellan approach -- 'tis better to be feared than loved." You cannot compel people to love you, but you can make damn well sure that they fear you and THAT is the key to Israel's survival. The State of Israel and the Jewish people cannot compel people to love us -- if anything, most people would rather see the State of Israel destroyed and the Jewish people converted or exterminated. Making concession after concession after concession has not made people more fond of Israel -- it has made them demand ever more from the State of Israel. Witness Egypt. Witness Gaza. On the other hand, the fear factor causes them to be quite wary of Israel. Keep in mind that the first war that Israel loses will be Israel's last war. Of course, in the extremely unlikely event that that day will come, you do of course realize that we will pull down the temple walls. We'll take as much of the world with us as we can, and make damned well sure that what is left will be uninhabitable for the next 100,000 years. If we can't live, neither can anyone else. It's really all that simple.

I was thinking much the same thing. Wouldn't it be simply awful if a Russian cargo vessel were to sink? We've done it before (two cargo vessels out of Bandar Abbas). The Russians probably wouldn't like it, but they are very well aware that the Soviets couldn't handle Afghanistan, and they know that they won't be able to handle Israel. The United States has made it plain -- as have several European countries -- that Israel has an absolute right to self-defense, and stopping weapons shipments that are "game-changers" constitutes self-defense.

30. simple facts
tom ,   toronto, canada   (05.23.13)
the simple fact is that israel has dealt with russian anti-aircraft systems before, and has the means to deal with them again. in 1973, in 1982, and in 2007, the iaf defeated russian-built, syrian air defences. israel has also destroyed thousands of hezbollah rockets in the past, and with its new anti-missile defence systems, the idf will be even better able to protect the country from the mad mullahs and their terrorist proxies. if mr putin is trying to restore russian influence in the middle east, then he is certainly going about it the wrong way. by re-enacting the defeats of 1967 and 1973, he will neither prove his political value as an ally, nor the effectiveness of russia's newest armaments. to borrow an old cliché: "his greed will be his undoing."
