Just wait for hysterical Palestinians & friends come storming in and claiming this was part of 'Historical Palestine' and stolen by the Jews, I mean Israeli's. I hope that in the Louvre they are aware & prepared for these kind of culture .
2. #1 tiki, thanks for correcting, Jews don't steal,

You barely even bother to mask your ugly prejudice. The Jewish population of Israel is more than 6 million. That's nearly half of the world's Jewish population you're slandering.

fering: preferably incuding a pool of blood, maybe a paper boat with a doll wearing a "freedom-belt", you get the general idea?
5. Not the first Israeli exhibition at the Louvre!

It may be the first Israeli Government Exhibition but it is not the first Israeli exhibition. About 4 years ago a female artist from the north was invited to exhibit her work at the Louvre in their modern art section therefore she is the first Israeli to have exhibited at the Louvre. I am sure of this because the IBA did a special on the artists work.
6. I saw the Lod mosaic - in situ in 1996.

My wife and I saw the Lod mosaic, in situ, as it was being excavated in the street in 1996. It was first discovered during digging to replace and expand water supply pipes. The archeological authority had a large tent covering the site to shield against the sun. They had papr pathways laid out so people could walk out onto the mosaic and see its various area. it was a magnificent sight. Bezek issued phone cards showing the Lod mosaic. I still have a few of those. mini mosaics.
