31. would they still want arabs there is Sarah B was there
zionist forever   (06.02.13)
Now if Sarah B went to Superland they would have to give her the whole park to herself if she was going to enjoy herself otherwise she would be constantly criticising everybody for not being patriotic enough. Would it be racism if we refused entry to arabs because Sarah B was in town?
32. # 31
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (06.03.13)
It's a pointless question and a silly idea but if those Arabs are like me they might like to have an autograph. Now that would be Super.
33. well researched
Simon Soesan ,   Haifa Israel   (06.03.13)
Well researched, Mr. Cohen. Great example for your pupils how to simply attack a subject without really understanding what it is about. Let's see: the owner of this amusement park, from experience, decided to create special days for groups, after time and again these groups fought and created damage. We give special days for religious good-for-nothings on the beaches and in swimming pools, as well as in Superland and many more places and institutions, but for you, that is a story better not be told. Instead of praising the management of Superland for coming up with a solution where everyone can come and visit, but each at his own turn, you call him a discriminator. I call upon you, as an an educator, to first show all the facts before judging.
34. Israel is not a racist country.
Susan ,   far Saba   (06.03.13)
It is a good country with some racism. I see Arabs everywhere I go , every day. They work and shop in the mal and supermarkets. They come to parks in Jewish cities, they study and teach in our colleges, they are patients and work in our hospitals. As for mixing the schools, that would be difficult since they speak a different language, although a few Arab high school pupils do go to Jewish schools. There is a lot of integration. The discrimination that does exist is because that they are not trusted.
35. No #22, she is too young for Jim Crow.
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (06.03.13)
Now-a-days there are many racially mixed people in the US. Its not such a big deal anymore. She is a beautiful, talented woman and I admire her for not caving into the haters.
36. Why aren't Jews allowed
Raphael ,   Netanya   (06.03.13)
To pray on Temple Mount, or enter PA's A area (except the top Jew haters)?
37. Managing crowds in a thoughtless manner
David G. ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.04.13)
Everywhere I go in Israel. I see Jews and Arabs working side by side or in the same setting. In the pharmacies where at least half of the workers and pharmacists are often arabs, in the supermarkets, in the post office, in the markets such as Machane Yehuda in West Jerusalem. In the malls in 'Jewish neighborhoods', arab shoppers are numerous, enjoying themselves, eating in the restaurants, no different from Jewish customers. This is Israel. Amusement parks often try to deal with potential problems with their limited staff such as potential clashes among groups of unruly youths by devising quick fixes--separate the haredim, the arabs and the secular and religious Jews from each other. I understand that the owners have admitted their error. This was also done at times at one amusement parks in the US where special days were designated for special groups, such as gays .
38. No racist state, no racist Israeli but there is racism
Samy ,   Belgium   (06.04.13)
Can people still debate online???? The "opinion" written" by this professor is made 1) to shock or 2) for propaganda. I personally choose the 2nd option. I believe It exagerate a real issue. No, the state of Israel or Israeli are not racist, not less not more than in any other country i lived in or visited. However, there can be racism and i believe it should be tackled properly. Unfortunately, successive governments have been muting the debate!!!!! For example: 1)Many sport supporters are known for their stupid racist rants against arab israelis and black players. 2)apartment of illegal immigrants was burn down last year. 3) The word "THE ARABS" meaning all arabs without distinction of nationality .This, to my view is offensive toward any arabs israeli serving voluntarily in the IDF, working and saving lives in hospitals TOO (not matter how numerous they are)!!! This is the work of a healthy democracy to spot issues, debate them and tackle them....racism included. As Jews and in the only Jewish country in the world, we should be an example for all, even in the most difficult times.... We should never forget or judaic moral values of self respect and respect for others (even more important if they are israeli). Any realistic and honest person is welcomed to reply.
39. sarah #8
ERIK ,   PRAHA   (06.04.13)
I hope that after your next visit to Israel they will not let you come back to USA
40. To #15 : (All are welcome...)
Roni ,   Yarka-Israel   (06.04.13)
Hey. You are presenting Israel as an epic state , and the people of Israel as blameless. What would you tell someone like me , as a druze citizen of Israel that was grown up in a zionist home, served as an officer in the army , being a nice guy - and yet ,still suffering from discrimination and racism everywhere ! Good night.
41. Really overboard and incorrect
Jo   (06.04.13)
All this fuss over superland. It is expedient that this very small amusement park cater to different groups wisely...... Haredim do not like secular dress code... And most Arab schools are also like minded. There are also days when anyone who wants to go be they Arab or Jew, secular or religious, can go at the same time. Plenty days. But for school trips it is just practical. It is not a big place and school trips can fill the entire space. As to racism.....try the London tube in rush hour.....
42. To N 34, Susan
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (06.04.13)
Susan, I fully endorse your comment. Israel couldn't be a racist country, and, in fact, she is not it. We, her friends around the world, do understand some discriminations because of permanent danger that you feel. But we believe, too much, in the humanistic principles that inspirated the creation of your State. Salutes from South America.
