To be honest the IDF command need to look at this in a positive way. An article along with pictures were printed in a national UK tabloid today. In stead of the usual anti-Israel talkbacks there were loads saying wow what an army along with where can I sign up and if this is what Israel is like then I am in etc etc. In fact I have not seen such positive spin so sometimes these things are not bad for Israel but very well needed to show the other side of the country that a lot of people don't know of.

These are teenagers going into the military where they grow up very quickly. I do not condone such behavior, but urge everyone to remember one thing. This does not set the bar on the morality of Zahal. There are young men and women in combat fatigues and full combat gear along every border in Israel. Vigilant, prepared, astute, trained, and placing their lives on the line so that there may never be a repeat of that which occured seventy years ago. So those who are quick to judge, please remember this. Those racy pics and devil may care attitude are not what Zahal should be remembered for. The children of the parents who make sure we sleep soundly at night in Israel and other parts of the world are not doing so in their underwear. They are doing it in close to 100 degree heat, rain and snow throughout our beloved land. May Hashem bless them and protect them for all eternity......remember!

screw the detractors and moralists. these young women are sent to fight and die for their nation, they are old enough to decide how they want to have fun and not to be moralised by prudes. A soldier dancing around a pal is a lot less obscene than pals blowing up children. this is a very small and disproportionate revenge, the revenge should be a lot greater than the trivia complained upon here. Some of them haven't had the best of upbringings. And parents aren't always willing to discipline them. So they get drunk flying to Cyprus on teenage jaunts, act like sexual libertines, and fail to exercise responsibility when posting to social media. So sometimes the IDF has to serve in loco parentis, as parental surrogates, to set them straight. As to the "danger" to Torah Jews in such an environment, two points: First, the haredi world isn't immune to sexual abuse; it's just too often covered up. Second, if these Torah-observant Jews have the self-confidence to maintain proper behavior, they might just have a good influence on their more secular brethren.

the girls sent the pictures (ranging from racy to complete nudity) to one of the cooks on base. he then spread the pictures around and subsequently they ended up on Facebook. half the army has the pictures already. these girls are not in a course to become combat soldiers. they (or their friends - these specific girls may get moved somewhere else) will be running courses to teach different skills to combat soldiers.
