5. We should have offered Bill some strippers.
Ira G. ,   Israel   (06.05.13)
This obscene practice of paying crazy amounts of money to people to show up at an event smacks if prostitution. Speaking of prostitution, had we just offered Clinton some lap dances he would probably have waived his fee.
6. Mr. President Peres
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.05.13)
This is your responsibility. Cancel Clinton's appearance NOW!
7. If Peres had any decencey
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.05.13)
He would call Clinton and cancel his speech. Clinton is a crook and a skanky louse.
8. Will somebody please pull the plug on Peres?
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.05.13)

A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.05.13)
and tell him what you think about this: public@president.gov.il
10. President Clinton - $ 500,000 for an hour
Shoshieb ,   Migdal, Israel   (06.05.13)
He should be ashamed of himself, isn't he rich enough? My God, $500,00 for an hour???????????? I would tell him - thanks but no thanks!!
11. limits
sam ,   Israel   (06.05.13)
As a wise man said there is NO limit to stupidity especially when government are in the picture. If president Clinton is such a good friend of President Peres he should do it for free. Monica did him for free
12. I totally agree with this op Ed.
Israeli ,   Haifa   (06.05.13)
Absolutely un conscionable! Vile greed! Are we going down hill? Heading for a crash, when our leaders waste money, and on THEMSELVES like this? I fear for our country!!!
13. Half a million buys sincerity
Ilan   (06.05.13)
Or as close to sincerity as Clinton is able to achieve, but Pere loves even insincere flattery
14. Peres' birthday party
jan ,   jerusalem, israel   (06.05.13)
too bad the JNF didn't ask me to speak! I would have taken far less money-and I would even have used 10% of the monies I received from them to improve and beautify parks- in celebration and in honor of Peres on his birthday!
15. JNF and other charities
g.p. ,   t.aviv   (06.05.13)
I've stopped giving charity money to any organisation that spends most of the donations on its own leaders. And why only attack Clinton? How do we all think Messrs Barak, Netanyahu and Co. all accumulated their multi millions?
16. why like this Yigal why?
(06.05.13)
17. Clinton will lay an egg at Peres feet...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.05.13)
that is priceless. Why so much noise? One might think he lays asteroids.
18. NO SHAME...
FO ,   Belgium   (06.05.13)
A P.M. with a fitted bedroom on board of an El Al flight to London at the price of 150.000$ and now a President inviting a guest at the price of 500.000$. Who said that there poor people in the country longing for bread? A certain Marie-Antoinette would have told them: "no bread? Eat cake". The fact is, that she became a head shorter!
19. #7
(06.05.13)
birds of a feather flock together hamevin yavin
20. Both Clinton and Peres have damaged Israel greatly.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.05.13)
The author makes a good point, but his criticism of Clinton and Peres is understated. Both these men have damaged Israel greatly and continue to do so. Clinton does not deserve a penny. Peres should be tried for treason for his constant betrayal of Israel. He should also be sued, along with the Labor Party, for billions of dollars for criminal negligence, by thousands of Israeli Oslo victims.
21. 100% right
Michal ,   Tel Aviv   (06.05.13)
22. After all, Clinton likes Jewish women like Monica
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (06.05.13)
I guess we ought to gratefully thank him for the respect he shows to the Jewish people.
23. I will think again before donating to the JNF
Arnold Szmerling ,   Israel   (06.05.13)
It has become a self fulfilling detached whale like this government.
24. The headline using the word greed
Raptor   (06.05.13)
is intended to incite and it has achieved its goal in the TBs posted. The author is wrong and the article is stupid as are the comments. President Clinton is not receiving a fee for his lecture, the Clinton Foundation is and this is a donation which the Foundation will use for whatever public/global enterprise it sees fit within the scope of the terms of the Foundation. This is what President Clinton does and he has a right and duty to ask for a donation of any size he wishes. To interpet this as greed is showing both ignorance and disrespect for Clinton and Peres.
25. Clinton will refuse to take any money, my bet.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.05.13)
Has anyone asked Clinton whether he knows about the 1/2 mil? His agents may have asked for the sum without his knowledge. Ranting doesn't make a commentator correct here.
26. Pay for it from Bibi's ice cream fund
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (06.05.13)
Your disrespect for Clinton is annoying though not a surprise. Respect is in short supply in Israel.
27. One of the most disgusting stories since I started reading
Alan ,   SA   (06.05.13)
28. Celebrating Peres`s birthday ? Crazy !
Nora Tel Aviv   (06.05.13)
Why in earth sould such a celebration be held in the first place ? Since when such a ridiculus ceremony of thePresident of Israel is in vogue ? Are you a child, Mr. Peres ? Or, are you the israeli equivalent of the Queen of England ? As an Israeli, I am ashamed.
29. Just jealous ;) ,...
split ,   US   (06.05.13)
No one would ever pay a dime for any of your statesman's appearance, as matter of fact no one would like him/her to be near by on such an occasion ,...
30. clinton/peres
sue ,   mevasseret   (06.05.13)
