Since when it it Israel's responsibility to compensate anyone for the actions of hamas? and who will compensate Israel for the decades of harassment and violence erupting out of the so-called Palestinian territories? Israel had its real opportunity for decisive victory in past conflicts. After seizing the territories from which they were being bombarded, those lands should have been annexed officially, any foreign nationals repatriated, and that's that. Instead we have a never ending conflict with territorial ambiguity, and it's too late now to take such action effectively.

I am not afraid of Israel's enemies. I am truly afraid of the lunatics who run Israel. There is simply no precedent, in all of human history, for this madness. Israel's enemies murder and Israeli taxpayers are forced to compensate the victims. Many of Israel's leaders belong in asylums.

You do, I trust, appreciate the difference between Hamas' acts of aggression and Israel's affirmative duty to protect and defend its citizens, don't you? The law looks to intent, not efficacy. Where the missiles fired from Gaza land is irrelevant; the misdeed occurred the instant the missile was launched. Israel has every right to retaliate. That's black letter international law. If anything, Israel has been remarkably patient. I'd have gone after Gaza a lot harder.

Israel should demand compensation for damages, lost work hours, lost school hours, hospitalization of Israeli citizens due to stress,etc. caused by every terror attack since Israel left gaza. I don't think hamas will walk away with a "+" account.
