31. Mr. Harri
Ilan ,   Ramat Gan   (06.11.13)
Will you people please stop acting, like you live in Gaza and you actually know what's going on? Because you obviously don't, and you have nooo idea what's going on. You only pick and choose stories and news that go along with your prejudice! No one is claiming the Palestinians aren't suffering! But of course Israel is at fault... , they're the ones with the attack helicopters, and the closed borders! , right? What you see as collective punishment I see my government protecting me from people who collectively want me dead! When you see us as baby killers, I see Hamas cowards holding the Palestinians hostage, using them as human shields, to hide behind while launching rockets knowing full well Israel will take out the source to protect my family and neighbors! I'm pretty sure somewhere in Syria the Syrians believe assad is the good guy, and the rebels are evil! That's because just like you, they are fed b. S. News! Goldstone was okay as long as he was saying what you wanted to hear, after he took it back, you all forgot about him. So like I said I can understand you feel for them, but feel for them. Don't talk for them and pretend you know what's going on in black and white!
32. That brainless self publicist makes a mockery of the UN
Tim ,   Brighton   (06.11.13)
And all it stands for Because his statements are misleading, factually incorrect and in no way designed to encourage or urge dialogue..more to satisfy his lust for hurting Israel
33. Hi Devorah @ #10
Israeli 2   (06.11.13)
#1 is a real F_ _ _ #2 is certainly Fried #3 is already Ash #4 is a Big O Why do we even give credence to them when their closest confidants are inside the Knesset and all throughout Israel? People like us do not have ISRAEL yet. CHAVAL!
34. gaza Movenpick hotel lacking caviar ?
trump   (06.11.13)
enough is more than enough........ If falk was smart enough to look t a map, egypt is available to deliver all the goods .
35. #28 Your knowledge and understanding of history is laughable
Marwan Khoury مروان ,   Montreal, QC   (06.11.13)
Israel withdrew from Gaza and left with to Palestinians to run. In fact, they left world class farms and greenhouses for Palestinians to run, offered economic and security cooperation etc. Hamas took over Gaza in a bloody illegal takeover and since then fired thousands of missiles at Israeli cities. It was Hamas that brought Israeli security measures. It is Hamas that continues to hold people of Gaza hostage to their extremist ideology through terror, repression and religious extremism. Gaza and Egypt have a border that is controlled by Egyptians. You and other Israel bashers don't seem to criticize Egyptians for enforcing border controls. Hamas and their allies even attack and terrorize Egyptians in the Sinai. That's who these people are and that's what they do. Israel has tried every opportunity to bring peace but it is Hamas and their Iranian regime masters that hold refuse to give the people of Gaza a chance at a normal life. Get your facts straight before you pretend to know what you are talking about.
36. I thought Israel did not approve of boycotts?
snow fox ,   uk   (06.11.13)
37. WHY DOES NOBODY METION EGYPT"S BLOCKADE
Andi ,   Israel   (06.11.13)
Its even more hermetic than Israel's, thus for the continued need for tunneling at the Egyptian border by Gazans. Israel via Keren Hashalom is the only port of entry for all merchandise and trade that gets in to Gaza-which is hundreds of trucks a week. It would appear that this glaring act of bias against Israel doesn't even merit a mention by Israel's supporters on this talkback, never mind by Falk.
38. #33 - Israeli 2
Devorah   (06.11.13)
Hi, Israeli 2. Well, I agree with your answers, but say it isn't so regarding those people and Knesset, etc. Chaval? Yes, in a way. But we are living in a time the prophets spoke of. Imagine if they could witness the words they wrote come to life. We will have to be patient until Moshiach settles the score. He is on his way. He always has been.
39. To # 28 Harri
Andi ,   Israel   (06.11.13)
The Israel land blockade would end overnight if Egypt opened its border. Egypt does let civilians cross the border (although not always) so there is no prison, but doesn't allow merchandise to pass. The absence of any criticism of Egypt reveals the impartiality of the Euro Left who are clearly more concerned with bashing Israel than the wellbeing of the Palestinians. Israel enforced its partial blockade very soon after the end of the occupation of Gaza because rocket fire intensified from day 1, when the Gazans destroyed functioning industrial plants that the settlers left undamaged, merely to get better firing positions. And please don't patronise the Egyptians by saying that Israel and the US force Egypt to close its border. Its closed because Gazans are also causing harm to Egypt.
40. He is certainly not a "right" envoy, since he does
Deb J. Goldfarb ,   Washington, DC USA   (06.11.13)
all that he can to ensure the right of Jews to life and life's defense is trashed. This is hardly a "right" envoy, but of course, he represents the UN and one of its most infamous agencies.
41. False Falk--One-lop sided man
Get Real ,   UK   (06.11.13)
Why does he always overlook Israel's right to defend itself from an enemy intent on destroying it. Has he not seen the Hamas Charter or is unaware of the tens of thousands of rockets fired into Israel from Gaza etc etc Until he recognises and reports the reality of the region his views are biased and meaningless.
42. To Andi
Harri ,   EU   (06.11.13)
If you wonder, why Egypt don't ease Gaza blockade more than it has done previously, you should read Washington Post. You could learn that US had put different conditions for 1,3 billion dollar military support for Egypt. One condition is protecting Israel security by Gaza blockade. It would cost 1,3 billion dollars for Egypt to end Gaza blockade without Washington and Jerusalem approval. They do it partially by allowing human transfer and letting Gazans to use tunnels to transfer products, but it is off course not enough to make normal living and trade possible in Gaza. It is however enough to let Egypt of the hook by international community. Only Israel or US can end the Gaza blockade, so don't fool yourself by thinking that everyone don't know that.
43. #42 No cause for complaint
Get Real ,   UK   (06.11.13)
Only Hamas can end the legal blockade of Gaza by recognising the right of Isreal to exist and to cease all military hostilities against Israel. Until they start to do this they can not complain that Israel is protecting its security.
44. Common Sense
Stuart ,   South Africa   (06.11.13)
Dear Mr Falk and Harri i.e. 13 Firstly Mr Falk you are not independant and secondly Harri, you are clearly uninformed of the real situation. There is no such nation as Palestinians. They are Jordanians since 48 and since 67 call themselves Palestinians. If Jordan did not attempt to onliterate Israel off the map in 67, they would still be Jordanians. If they accepted Israels right to exist, they may just be able to become Palestinians. What does it take to get peace? A peaceful attitude for a start. Something Hamas does not intend to adopt. So Mr Falk, rather focus on why Arabs are killing Arabs in Iraq, Syria, and Iran. Focus on why Islamic militants are killing Afganis, Pakistanis adn even Christian Nigerians, Malians etc. That would make more sense if justice and peace is what you work towards achieving. And Harri... perhaps if you started trying to convince Arabs in Gaza that Jews have a right to live in Israel then maybe you could alos be considered objective. That is of course if your Hamas friends allow you to try and do that. Try it by walking down the streets of any Arab country, calling peace with the Jews, if you survive that? Then lets talk.
45. Viability? there's no such thing as gaza viability
Jewjitsu ,   ATLANTA GA USA   (06.19.13)
like the make believe pal people, it's all a hollow shell and the biggest HOAX...all perpetrated by a UN muslim driven faction...a load of baloney... and what about the 100,000 dead and 1,500,000 wounded and displaced in syria? or doesn't that body count do anything to WAKE UP UN! nothing more than the usual perpetually raging arabs (vs. brave and noble Jews) land grab by the make believe "pal people". hey arabs, want some free Jew lands????? come and get it cause it's goin' fast! a la UN!
46. #23- FALK IS A SELF-HATING JEW
