Yoram Kaniuk was a truly brilliant man. Not necessarily for his works, but for his political position. This man was a true secular humanist, who understood that state and religion can never be merged. He felt that the state should not have a database with people's religions in it. He knew that religion was a personal, private matter, and a matter of belief, not an accident of birth. Yet, from all the negative talkbacks in various media outlets, there's so much hatred for him. They hate him more than they hate leftists. They use the most degrading terms to describe a man who simply made a personal choice. Terms like 70kg of garbage and the like. This is just a graphic demonstration how the ignorant, religious masses always hate the best and the brightest. For them, the most enlightened people, with humanist, pluralistic values, that see past local superstitions and tribalism, are terrible horrible traitors. For shame.

There are millions of non-religious Jews both in Israel and all over the world, they don't renounce their Jewish status or heritage, THAT'S what Kaniuk did. Does mr eichler pay taxes? Of course he does because the government knows exactly what he's earning since he is employed by them!!! I don't gauge anything from home buyers.....that's because nothing I own is for sale!!! Just look around you and see where all the hate comes from: you got it! It's the self-righteous priests (and their blind followers).
