Remakable that soldiers have to be instructed on what is pemissable to post and what the security risks are. From the headline thought the article was going to give guidance about not divulging personal details when pole dancing or exhibiting in various states of nudity etc.

not at all remarkable. In the army nothing is ever taken for granted or assumed...
3. Clearly stated.

Now needs to be fully disseminated via Orders of the day and posted on every base.
4. Technology moving faster than education

Kids are so unaware of online risks. Most parents are not equiped to teach them. Online security should be taught in middle schools. Then by the time kids are draft age they should understand themselves what should be online and what shouldn't, and the new rules would just serve as a reminder.
5. The real damage

The real damage is the public photos that show soldiers in a distasteful way. Soldiers need to post tasteful photos showing the IDF in a positive and strong way when they are in uniform or with their weapons. I know of some soldiers that will do funny videos of themselves but also ask their commander's permission before posting them because they know they are questionable.

Not so remarkable when you recall that Israeli boys and girls are cast into the military at age eighteen when your young people are out gallivanting around enjoying their late adolescence. Ours must be taught and taught in a hurry. Young Israelis come out of the military far more prepared to take on the responsibilities of adult life than youth from Europe and North America. In a way, I wish it weren't so but they are required to perform incredible functions as the life preservers of our society. So keep in mind the context, the rigours of military training in late adolescence, when you so freely criticize.
8. Information on Facebook
Ros ,   Tel Aviv   (06.12.13)
If our soldiers are so responsible, why would they even consider giving out information on Facebook - even the cellphones put them in danger!!
