31. #27 Ethan Schwartz, you're joking, right?
Jake   (06.19.13)
Blaming the victim? The palestinian boy and his gang have ready been caught on camera and arrested by the Cypriot police. Where is the rest of the Israeli boy's gang, if indeed he was a bully? Doesn't it appear to you strange that this "anonymus" poster wrote "Israely"?
32. to #13 embassy is non-political institute, after elections
ghostq   (06.19.13)
the embassador is not replaced. and this got no connection to left nor right wing.
33. Home Schooling in such situations...
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.19.13)
Is preferable.. Diplomat or no diplomat they were stupid for sending their kids to school with goyim especially in arab infested Cyprus. I was always at the ready with a switchblade whenever I toured the greek islands including Cyprus.
34. to flee is no solution
dianak ,   germany   (06.19.13)

It was like this before Israel was created. It basically goes back to the early christians and mohhammed being annoyed with the Jews for laughing at their ridiculous rip-offs of Judaism.
36. Greeks are Antisemites
Laila ,   Montreal, Canada   (06.19.13)
Greeks are Antisemites.
37. Cypriot #17 Your claim doesn't stand up
Jake   (06.19.13)
The palestinian and his gang of thugs were caught on camera and arrested by the Cypriot police with an electric shocker, and will be tried for their actions. No doubt they will claim as their defense that their Israeli victim was himself a bully, but does that claim hold water? Where is the Israeli boy's accomplices, or would you have us believe that he was able to "bully" all these thugs on his own? And who would have been his accomplices? There are few Jews and Israelis residing in Cyprus. By contrast, Cyprus has large communities of Arabs (palestinians, Syrians, Lebanese, etc.). Moreover, I am familiar with Greek society. Regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict, they tend to be either neutral, or pro-palestinian and hostile to Israel.

Come on Mr. Itamar Eichner . First of all the above incident took place 1,5 years ago, why don't you write this in your article? What is the point of publishing it now and not before? Secondly, since there are not turks in the non-occupied area of Cyprus, how come a "turkish friend" helped him? And last but not least, pleace write all the details such as in the soccer match the Israeli boy beat the other boy and it was something like payback. Do not show it as anti-semitism for God's sake. Cypriots love the people from Israel and there is no anti-semitism in Cyprus
39. Cyrpiot #38, once again, please cite references.
Jake   (06.19.13)
This article contradicts what you have said. You claim that the Israeli boy attacked the other boy at a soccer game, but this article says the exact opposite: "During a soccer game, the Palestinian boy initiated fisticuffs". One who goes to a soccer game carrying an offensive weapon like fisticuffs is clearly up to no good. And this is not about Cypriot society as a whole, it is about a palestinian boy and his group of thugs. But like I said, do you have a reliable reference that contradicts this article? I'd like to see it.

some mistakes calls for correction in your post, if i may :) thre is not an occupied zone in cyprus but unresolved issues which includes land swaps secondly the loss land by yourside was due to your agressive behaviour towards turks on island which eventually led to the intervention so the term" occupied" doesnt not apply in any context thre are many turks residing on bothside, that cliam of yours is false as well lastly to my knowledge greeks in greece and greeks in cyprus(cypriots) was always pro arab in fact greece was one of the most hostile towards jews in ww2,so your wrong thre too antisemitism is alive and well both in greece and cyprus
41. Even at young age..
Beary White ,   Norway   (06.19.13)
...the islamic followers are revealed to be of violent breed. After joining the hamas summer camps for years, they are not educated to behave as normal people, just being brainwashed into kids filled with hatred to anyone who are not islamic followers, and supported by their hateful mum and daddy...
42. 7- Typical European
k ,   US   (06.19.13)
Europeans are known for their cowardice and beating on people when they are already down, more then anything I hope there is some long and overdue revenge on your continent one day

(06.19.13)
don't worry, the revenge has already started a decade ago. one just has to look at the amount of the unwashed islamic masses from the most backward countries residing in europe and terrorising the white population. this will only get worse until islamists become huge numbers in europe and inundate it with sharia law and terrorism. couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of idiots and jew killers. but then again, europeans are no different than the muslims they love. both seek jewish blood at any cost.
44. Israeli 2 - Israeli specialists
Norman ,   Boca Raton / USA   (06.20.13)
Who were you thinking of sending? The settlers' kids? They'd be good for that with all their Price Tag training!

If you can't find willing settler kids, send Ivan from South Africa at number 5, seems like he has hands on experience.

We can start by canceling all the secular weddings in Cyprus! Their economy will tank even further! Economic PRICE TAG!

Norman ,   Boca Raton / USA   (06.20.13)
I'm with you on that, seems to me that the diplomat boy is a crybaby. Israeli 2 should step in, apparently he has leadership and knows cojones well!
48. Laila, #36
Norman ,   Boca Raton / USA   (06.20.13)
Spare yourself some trouble, just list the non-anti-Semites, the anti-Semite list is too lengthy.
49. To Cypriot - you're confusing another incident!
TJ   (06.20.13)
Perhaps you're talking about the Israeli student from the University of Genoa in Italy who was attacked by several armed Palestinians? That article was published by Ynet about 2 1/2 years ago.
50. When I hear this, then I sympathize with the Turks!
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (06.20.13)
Maybe Cyprus should separate Jews from others and become an Apartheid State!
51. Cyprus must punish these gung.
Abu Yusuf ,   ME   (06.20.13)
Can someone provide the name of these boys that attacked him?
52. #39 , #40 , #49
Cypriot ,   Nicosia, Cyprus   (06.20.13)
#39 i agree, it is not an antisemitism incident from Cypriots, its just a fight between a palestinian boy and thugs. #49 No i am not confusing incidents. The above incident happened 1,5 years ago. The Embassy of Israel in Cyprus should take out a press statement for this. #40 i am sorry that i have to teach you here history because you are fully mistaken. Cyprus is occupied and it is mentioned everywhere the term occupation. Please read all the articles of United Nations regarding the illegal occupation and presence of turkish military forces in Cyprus since the invasion of 1974 and the massacre by the turks. For sure it is not unresolved issues. It is pretty resolved and it is called illegal occupation. Thats why the item called "north republic of north cyprus" is not recognized everywhere in the world, and only the country in E.U. Cyprus is recognized. Secondly greek cypriots where the 80% of the population of the island and 20% turk cypriots. If you take out some minor incidents, they were all living in peace. There are a few turk-cypriots (maybe 2%) that they live in the Republic of Cyprus. But at the time of the fight for sure all the people that where near ran to stop it. Now regarding your last statement. There were some relations between Greece, Cyprus and arabs, as every country that make politics. Now the relationship between Cyprus-Greece-Israel is more powerful than ever and that is what is turkey afraid of. In ww2 Germany after many fights conquered Greece and they captured the Jews that were living in Greece. It wasn't Greece fault. Antisemitism if not alive for sure in Cyprus not ever at 1% because Cypriots love Israel and Israeli people, and in Greece only the new-nazi group is against the Jews and they are only 8%. The rest of the people are fine and get along well with Israeli people and everyone sees that when they visit Greece and the islands. If someone really hates the Jews and is antisemitism this is your prime minister...
53. And why is school principal still walks?
Miron ,   USA   (06.23.13)
They are the ones responcible. Nobody stages public beatings, unless principal watches from around the corner, in case some over - zealous teacher wants to call in police.
54. Sorry but Cypriot people have nothing to do with the event
Petros ,   Nicosia Cyprus   (06.24.13)
In Cyprus there has been a huge amount of Palestinians and other Arabs and this is the case with the Palestinian boy that bullied the Israeli student. Cypriot people and the President has good relations with the Jews community of Cyprus even though small and there is an absolute acceptance of religious performance by all communities of the island if this is Armenian, Maronite, Muslim. Different cultures can co-exist in Cyprus and are a wealth of the country. Cypriot people are not pro-Palestinian and some were angry at them few months ago when an event was broadcasted by the Cypriot media when Palestinian refugees that enjoyed the welfare benefits of the Cypriot state for years and years, crossed the check-point to the occupied areas calling the Turks to give protect them against the "racism" of the Greek Cypriots, and asking for protection by the biggest friend of Palestinians "Recep Tayyip Erdogan". Cypriot people have various cultural similarities with the Israelis and it is ridiculous to say that the Cypriots would allow such an event to happen.
