At the moment, there are two parallel instances of racist behavior in the headlines: Paula Deen and Alice Walker. There's Celebrity Chef and writer Paula Deen who is being lambasted for having admitted to used the "N" word in the past. Then there is Alice Walker who is aggressively promoting anti Semitic propaganda. The former is unashamed, whereas the latter has apologized, the latter is completely unrepentant. I had a quick look through the content of her book. The essays on Palestine are just one part of it. I have just purchased a hard back copy on Amazon and am looking forward to reading Alice Walker's views on a whole raft of subjects. I have read some of her work and she is a powerful author. Have any of you Talkbackers here read the book or are you just sheepishly repeating ADL's rant without you having even read one chapter? I am going to read this book with an open mind. I don't need the ADL to tell me what is right and what is wrong.
