1. Intent
Hakim ,   Palestine   (06.20.13)
Seems Israel is intent on maintaining a chaotic and hostile environment in order to avoid any peaceful settlement. Fortunately time is against them when Palestine will be majority in about 7-10 years.
2. Problem is that it is a take it or leave it proposal
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.20.13)
Mr. Peri seems to think that they are willing to use this as a negotiation piece, while in reality it was an all or nothing, take it or leave it offer. Give up all land liberated or captured in 1967 (including Golan and Jerusalem) accept "Palestinian refugees" inside Israel proper for "peace" with Arab world. Israel has seen what such peace means with Egypt and Jordan having weekly government calls to break their treaties and little or no normalization of ties or economic interaction.
3. Two-State Solution has already been implemented
Mark Bernadiner ,   Pearland, USA   (06.20.13)
In compliance with the 1920 League of Nations Resolution, two-state solution was implemented in 1922 when british administration of occupied Israel allocated more than 70% of Israel territory to palestinian arabs and created Transjordan (now Jordan) where today over 90 percent of the population identify themselves as Palestinian Arabs. Every party, including UN, EU, US, etc., must respect League of Nations Resolutions, adopted and accepted by UN in 1945. Therefore, all so called "palestinians" must be relocated there. Enough stealing Israel land. Britain and Jordan must compensate Israel for stolen land and natural resources. True History of Fake "palestinians" The highest ranking Soviet bloc defector, KGB Major General Ion Mihai Pacepa, in his documentary book "Red Horizons" rote: "The peace process is, and has from the outset, been nothing but a charade. It all started with the creation of a fictitious "Palestinian People" who allegedly demand political self determination. This collective noun was created by the Soviet disinformation masters in 1964 when they created the Palestinian Liberation Organization, the "PLO". The term "Palestinian People" as a descriptive of Arabs in Palestine appeared for the first time in the preamble of the 1964 PLO Charter, drafted in Moscow. The Charter was affirmed by the first 422 members of the Palestinian National Council, handpicked by the KGB. Article 24 of the 1964 PLO Charter addressed to UN stipulates: "Palestinian muslims do not exercise authority over West Bank (Judea and Samaria) and Gaza territories”
4. #1 How do you get this conclusion from his words?
Ed ,   Canada   (06.20.13)
Once again, Israel says clearly "we want Palestinians to have their own state". And here you go and say "hostile environment ". Admit it, you're just looking for excuses not to have your own state, because you probably don't really want it. You prefer doing nothing and complaining. It didn't get you anywhere in the last 60 years and it won't get you anywhere in the next 10 or 100 years. Grow up, stop complaining and start doing things for your future!

6. The only basis for talks has been and will continue to be
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.20.13)
UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967. But, the problem is not the talks; the predicament and the essence of the conflict is the categorical objection of the Arabs, local and regional alike, to accept Israel's very RIGHT to be, to exist as the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people on ANY parcel of land of the Jewish people's ancestral homeland. Until and unless the Arabs can accept Israel's right to exist as the independent nation-state of the Jewish people little can be expected of any talks, sadly.
7. #1. Actually "Palestinians" are a shrinking minority.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.20.13)
Both highly credibly American and Israeli studies prove "Palestinians" are a shrinking minority in Israel; including Judea and Samaria. But keep on sleeping in ignorance, Hakim of Fictional Palestine. In a few years, we will have more than a million Jews in Judea and Samaria. WIthin 20 years; more than two million. By than, most "Paletinians" will be long gone.
8. As long as Israel will have ..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.20.13)
some land left to give away, Arabs will agree to relaunch peace talks.
9. Who does he speak for?

Boarders Got Handed Over to lebanon The Land south of the litani river which occupied by the terrorist entity hizbullah, east of the jordan river and north in what is now syria and of coarse the land east of jordan river which east Mannasah, Gad and Ruben? How did this land end up with the heshemites? Please reply. Shalom
12. Impossible Hope
Zechariah   (06.21.13)
A Palestinuan Arab State with seven million Palestinian Arabs in Judae Samariah on the West Bank of the Jordan will want Much more Eventually .Jihadi and Fatah Ba'athCriminal Sadists will Climb up the Greasy Pole and Make Trouble and create Mayhem.
13. Israel no two states available
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!! ,   United States   (06.21.13)
try stealing parts of Syria, I hear squatters will be tolerated, for a while.... KEEP BUILDING!!!
14. The core issues have to be negotiated,There are no shortcuts
Sam ,   Canada   (06.21.13)
The Arabs are not going to dictate the plan. Dictating the plan may work in Arab countries, it's not going to work with Israel. The core issues of Jerusalem, refugees, borders, security etc will have to be negotiated whatever you want to call the plan. Either negotiations lead to Jewish and Palestinian majority states or nothing happens.
15. Two State Final Solution would lead to another holocaust.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.21.13)
Any literate child, capable of reading a map, can see that Israel would become a defenseless concentration camp if we allow the monstrous Two State Final Solution. Loony Perri, and any other Israeli who endorses this abomination, is endorsing another holocaust.
16. #10 - So that's 2 people. Impressive
Rachel ,   US   (06.21.13)
17. #1 hakim - you're right!
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.21.13)
However, as usual, you are speaking of the "Palestinians" who are doing everything they can to avoid any agreement whatsoever.
18. there are options other than the "1 state or 2 state"
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (06.21.13)
A 2 state solution is not viable because as with Gaza, the territory will ultimately be used for terrorist attacks & we have the right to our historic land. A one state solution will lead to the demographic takeover of Arabs. There are other options such as autonomy which works in many other places in the world such as for N. Ireland, Basque Country, the Kurds in Iraq & others. One thing is certain, Abbas does not want peace with Israel.
19. #15 More fear mongering by cookie boy?
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (06.21.13)
Chaim, the security barrier, Iron Dome, and IDF and Shin Bet are not gong anywhere. MK Peri advocates a two state solution based on the 1967 borders; as a former head of Shin Bet, surely he knows more about our security needs than you do. You remind me of the little boy with his hand stuck in the cookie jar and screaming because he can't get it out without dropping a few cookies. Consider going on a diet and accepting a nine-mile waist.) p.s. Chaim, when are you going to explain why Article 7 of the Mandate refers to "Palestinian citizenship."?
20. The true face of Lapids gang of fools
Al   (06.21.13)
and an other example of the very poor leadership in Israel. With supposed leaders like this the Jews of Israel are cooked.
21. right-wingers are being total idiots on this
Jeff ,   USA   (06.21.13)
Whether you agree with any manner of peaceful compromise with the Palestinians or not, it is absolutely critical for Israel (for PR purposes at the very least) that you're at least perceived as TRYING... personally, I don't believe for a second that Netanyahu has any intention whatsoever of ever pulling out of the West Bank, but he's wisely going through the motions of at least claiming that the possibility is open provided the Palestinians become willing to legitimately end the conflict with Israel (which conveniently for right-wingers, they're probably not)... When the right-wing blowhards (Danon, Bennett et al) announce point-blank that "we will never accept a Palestinian state under any circumstances," all they're effectively doing is giving the Palestinians ammunition to deflect the blame for the lack of peace on Israel... Just put a sock in it and let the Palestinians keep shooting themselves in the foot.
22. there is only one prime minister
CJK   (06.21.13)
all these other politicos are speaking only for themselves.
23. #1. Hakim....We need fresh thinking and new approach
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (06.21.13)
This is where Abbas needs to completely rethink his approach We know that the old ways have NOT worked...The old Ashrawi style has had its day and we have to TAKE THE NEGOTIATING INITIATIVE to put US in the driving seat toward Statehood As for preconditions on either side its ridiculous..It just paints both sides into a corner when we all know that ultimately even those preconditions can change at a Final Agreement Stage as can the status of the Settlements But more than that Hakim..we have to understand that it is in OUR interests to forge close and open ties with Israel and Israelis whatever outside interests say - who all want to cynically use our cause to further their own agendas PROUD to be Palestinian
24. 2nd State
Aharon ,   Jerusalem   (06.21.13)
Palestinians (whoever they may be since 1990's Oslo) have a state already...Transjordan. Go! PLEASE and leave us alone in OUR state for over 3000 years. You may leave or live with us in peace in the Jewish state, but we will never give back what we took back that was taken from us. Ours since the beginning, ours again...OURS FOREVER B"H.
25. 2nd State

26. Why don't people like Peri let us in on their secret of a
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.21.13)
Parallel Universe that they occupy? This guy should be removed from the government and MY country, in THIS Universe.
27. Yacov Peri
WadiAra ,   Israel   (06.21.13)
Well, well - politician who seems to be a man of his word. Despite his strange decision to join Yesh Atid, he's not given up!! Kol Hakavod..
28. #19 on - calling someone names doesn't change facts
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.21.13)
Chaim is right. You are wrong. If you would read history, which we are supposed to learn from, a small country the size of New Jersey has to be ultra-careful when surrounded by countries who want it to disappear, and have started wars and have never kept their word. One small Jewish country against the arab world. You remind me of a little boy who can’t stand what is happening around him and closes his eyes wishing he were somewhere else. Presidents and generals have been wrong throughout the ages. So is MK Peri. So are you.
29. #28 Solly, don't sully yourself with silliness!
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (06.21.13)
Name calling? Chaim, SarahB and cohort spew venomous racist propaganda and specialize in smearing anyone who disagrees with them with insults. "Cookie boy" is simply amusing. Time and time again I have provided clear refutations of Chaim and Sarah'Bs "factual" assertions which they simply ignore. For example, It is a fact that the ICC can exercise jurisdiction over Israeli settlements in the occupied territory even though Israel is not a signatory. And I am still waiting for Chaim to explain why we should ignore the Mandate provisions protecting the "rights and position" of the Palestinian Arabs or why Art.7 of the Mandate affords "Palestinian Citizenship" to Jewish immigrants. etc. etc. All six of the living former heads of the Shin Bet support a withdrawal and peace negotiations; one of them compares our behavior on the West Bank to that of the Nazi occupation of Europe. Has it ever occurred to any of you that YOU are wrong?
30. #29 on
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.22.13)
While I disagree with your 'facts', I should point out that you have not responded to anything in my post. Again, Israel learns from history,, unlike many who ignore it. And again, Presidents and generals have been wrong throughout the ages. So is MK Peri. So are you.
