4. Realistic Offers
Zechariah   (06.25.13)
Because of the instability in the world clashes. And weapons proliferation Tribal Armed Conflicts Israel will need a large Defense and Deterrant Capacity in the Jordan valley and surrounds. No Jihadi or Fatah -Ba'ath can be from the River to The Sea .Only Arabs from Palestine who are taught and educated to live in Peace with their Jewish Neighbours and Jews who Treat Peaceful Arabs with Equality have a Place in the Long Truce.
5. From the ridiculous to the sublime
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (06.25.13)
Kerry doesn't seem to get it. Neither side wants peace, and no matter how hard he tries to go down in history as a man to move two stubborn children into making peace it will not occur.
6. We must all support the 23-state-solution: 22 sovereign Arab
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.25.13)
states, accepting its right to exist and living in peace alongside the only sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel. Sadly, none of the Muslim-Arabs - no, it is not the case when it comes to the Christian-Arabs or the Druse-Arabs, mind you!! - accept this solution. Kerry ought to ask himself, finally, why don't they...??!!
7. Theresa has promised all a free sachet of ketchup
Benoa   (06.25.13)
Come to think of it, you can get that at McDonald's too, and you can get more accomplished there...
8. Kerry, world needs a Coptic 2-state in East Egypt.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (06.25.13)
Israel's borders must start at the Balfour Declaration, not any Obama '67 borders. Serial 2-state demands in the same tiny land = genocide.
9. End the sick, phony "peace talks with Palestinians".
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.25.13)
America, even under Obama, has too much sense to engage in "peace talks with Al Quaeda. Just as Churchill had too much sense to hold "peace talks" with Hitler. Nor should Israel hold phony "peace talks" with genocidal "Palestinians", who shout their genocidal intent to the very heavens. It is way past time to end these phony and incredibly dangerous talks with the terrorist P.A.
10. Meeting means nothing if Kerry doesn't change core positions
Sam ,   Canada   (06.25.13)
If Abbas and Netanyahu meet and Abbas is still demanding a right of return then nothing changes.Kerry has to focus on substance not just process or else he's wasting a lot of time.
11. #5 Two stubborn children? WTF?
frauss ,   Jerusalem   (06.25.13)
Your patronizing attitude combined with "neither side wants peace" shows how massively ignorant you are. If Israel's "peace" concessions to the Palestinians are suicidal, why should we even remotely consider them? Israel has wanted peace with the Arabs since 1948. The Arabs cannot accept us here and many Israelis have paid with their lives during the Arab war and terror campaigns. And you have the gall to call us stubborn children who don't want peace? It appears you are still suffering from "white man's burden".
12. Idiot ?.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (06.25.13)
In War if not bouth sides wants peace, peacetalks is futile. Why must the Peacefull Idiot Kerry, try to impose Peace-talks on the unwilling ? Because he is an Idiot ? Further - It was the sourounding Arab Nations that caused the Refugee crisis, so they must also hold/take the Responsibility for them. There can be no resturn. Arn.Sweden
13. #8 But seriously... have you READ the
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (06.25.13)
Balfour Declaration? It subjugates the creation of a Jewish "homeland" to protecting the rights of non_Jewish (Arab) communities. The Mandate extends that to protecting the "position" as well as rights. And read the Churchill White Paper, accepted by C. Wietzmann which informed the League of Nation's decision to approve the Mandate.
14. #9 Actually its time to find a muzzle
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (06.25.13)
big enough to cover your mouth. YOU are the one most obviously bent on genocide.
15. #10 That is a precondition!
Lynx ,   Palestine   (06.25.13)
Demanding that Palestinians give up their universally acknowledged Right of Return - before starting negotiations, is a PRECONDITION. However, Israel ceasing all settlement activitiy is a COMMITTMENT it made for the Road Map and countless other agreements and stipulations under international law. Yet once again, Palestinians as represented by our lousy leader Mr. Abbas are willing to once again offer peace a fair chance. What are YOU willing to give for peace?
16. Does Kerry ever get embarrassed
Devorah   (06.25.13)
about being such an unsuccessful stooge for Barry?
17. Abbas' choice
Get Real ,   UK   (06.25.13)
So even if Abbas, to show co-operation, agrees to resume talks without pre-conditions what happens at the talks if he re-states those pre-conditions as essential for him to proceed? If he was really serious about peace negotiations he should state he has no pre-conditions and, like Bibi, say that everything is on the table for negotiation. And can he say he is speaking on behalf of the Hamas terror entity and that they will amend their Charter calling for the destruction of Israel?
18. #15
(06.25.13)
Copycats - this Palestinians right of return always seems to me as the return of Jesus Christ from heaven to earth and Jerusalem in all sense.
19. #15 US made Netanyahu commit to Palestinian+Jewish states
Sam ,   Canada   (06.25.13)
The US made Netanyahu publicly commit to Jewish and Palestinian states before talks. Otherwise, what is there to talk about? The US has not done the same to the Palestinians who seek to deny a Jewish state through a right of return into Israel. There is nothing to talk about if Palestinians reject a Jewish majority state. That is unacceptable to the vast majority of Jews. Most Jews seek to negotiate the core issues of borders, Jerusalem, refugees, security etc leading to Palestinian and Jewish states living in peace. Can Palestinians say the same? No, because they want no Jewish majority state, only Palestinian states. That is why peace talks will always go nowhere.
20. #14. No more Oslos. No more rubbish. This land is ours.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.25.13)
#14. Jump Off The Balcony. Leave it to you to seek to "muzzle" those who seek what is best for Israel. Oslo "peace talks" sent thousands of Israelis to cemeteries and put even more thousands in wheel chairs. No more Oslos. No more rubbish. This tiny land belongs to Israel. Period.
21. #15 "What are YOU willing to give for peace?"
A ,   Belgium   (06.25.13)
If it was my decision, I would gladly honor the fact that most "palestinians" hold Jordanian citizenship and that you would therefore be allowed to return peacefully and with all of your possessions to your homes in Jordan...or Egypt or Syria or wherever your predessors happened to wander into Israel from. All this with no preconditions and no return to Israel. Better take the offer, pussycat, you're not going to get anything better.
22. Kerry
shelly   (06.25.13)
Kerry, what dont you get? There will be no negotiation on BORDERS, RIGHT OF RETURN. JEWISH STATE. So what are you going to talk about????
23. #15. Give "Palestinians" assistance to relocate elsewhere.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.25.13)
The only thing Israel should give "Palestinian" poseurs for peace is assistance to relocate elsewhere.
24. Only way Kerry will get Abbas to the negotiating table
A ,   Belgium   (06.25.13)
will be by pulling him by the ear with one hand, and waving a big stack of $$'s under his nose with the other.
25. #20 Are you willing to PUSH me off
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (06.25.13)
the balcony, Chaim? Wheelchair and all if necessary? Let's assume that there WILL be a negotiated two state solution; that the settlement policy WILL end and some settlements along with much if not most of Judea and Samaria WILL be ceded to the State of Palestine. What will you do? Will you support Israel's decision or will you wage war on us? Frankly, I am more afraid of you and your cohort than Hamas, Jihad and even Iran. Their rhetoric merely threatens our lives --your rhetoric threatens our very soul.
26. Response to #11
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (06.25.13)
You need to wake up and realize that the world is tired of all the right wing rhetoric that you are throwing out. As a person who loves Israel and Judaism there is a point when fairness becomes important, and age old hatreds needs to stop. Both sides are guilty, and as a result people die. You and I are part of the solution, or we perpetuate this problem for the next 100 years. That is the burden everyone shares my friend!!!!
27. #25 "Palestinians" have the brutal monopoly on
A ,   Belgium   (06.26.13)
pushing people in wheelchairs,, especially elderly people, to their death. Remember Leon Klinghoffer?
28. #27 Some settlers and their supporters
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (06.27.13)
are ready to challenge our enemies former monopoly on terror. Have you forgotten those who planted bombs on five Arab buses with a goal of killing 250 Palestinian Arabs? Their very real plans to bomb the Dome of the Rock? The spate of recent attacks on Israeli-Arabs? Price tag attacks? We rightfully condemn hateful rhetoric against us because we know it leads to violence. Why do you think that your, Chaim or SarahB's rhetoric is any less dangerous?. Forget the idea of the compassionate humane Israeli - it is a casualty of the occupation and settlment policy. We are no less capable than our enemies when it comes to terrorist rhetoric... or actions. Yes, I well remember Klinghoffer z"l.
