32. When will Israel get fed up with paying for appeasement?
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.26.13)
Appeasement fosters aggression. That is why Churchill knew better than to appease the Nazis. Unfortunately, Israel's leaders lack the courage of their conviction. They give in to pressure to commit stupid, self destructive acts of appeasement. When will Israel get fed up with paying the price?

While ver you call your soldiers "children" you will still remain the laughing stock of the world. No Israeli was killed on the Mavi Mavara, so you exagerate. If the IDF had not boarded this ship in INTERNATIONAL WATERS, none of your "children" would have been hurt, and 9 innocent Turks would still be alive today.

For being clueless and or uninformed, you are most certainly ill-opinionated. Firstly, your lame arguement that IHH's provocation dinghy being in international waters has no legal foundation as their intend to challenge and or violate the legitimate Gaza blockade despite Israel's ample and timely warnings was established beyond reasonable doubt. Secondly the nine innocent terrorist Turks, armed with pipes, knives, chains, etc... not only had no intention of complying with the IDF's instructions but became fatally confrontational. The root cause of their justified absence from among us. Thirdly, for as long as you maintain this moronic outlook, you will in fact remain the champion of the "laughing stock" of the civilized world. And lastly, Israel's IDF are in fact the "children of Israel." Only a de-facto oxymoron would dispute and or have a problem with the latter. Regards
37. Obama Deal
Phil N ,   Wheeling, IL,US   (06.26.13)
The article fails to address the question of whether Obama had really brokered a deal or just wanted something to make his trip look like a success. Obama is a terrible liar who says what is in his interest regardless of the truth.

If you morons would have followed the news in the last 5 months even you would have noticed the belligerent behavior of the Turkish government. This is not just about money. It is about a fascist Islamic government which is punching almost every day Israel in the face. Read the Turkish and Israeli papers and follow the news. Take care of your due diligence before posting ignorant comments.
41. Erdogan is to blame
John ,   NY USA   (06.30.13)
People should be made to realize that Turkey allowed the Marmara to leave port, knowing that the intention of the crew and passengers, was a confrontation with Israel. This whole mess could have been avoided, if Erdogan was a principled leader, and not just a corrupt politician. Israel should pay the 24 million. The agreement should state that it is to be distributed to claimants in return for a release from any further legal actions. This stops Erdogan from accusing Israel of not keeping their word. Erdogan is an Islamic megalomaniac. I have listened to many interviews that he has held and he has said that he wants Turkey to be the bridge between Europe and Africa. With him in control, of course. He bashes Israel to win favor with the far right Turks that barely keep him in power. The EU won't publicly admit it, but Erdogan himself is the biggest obstacle to be overcome, before Turkey gains admittance to the EU. Erdogan's main reason for being against Assad, is that he wants to be the power broker for the Mid East. He sees the Syria/Iran alliance as a threat to his own power. As an American, I do not think of Turkey, with it's present rulers, as a trustworthy allied member of NATO.
42. Turkey & Israel
Get Real ,   UK   (06.30.13)
Israel's weakness in apologising, not standing up to Turkish demands, not pushing for Turkish reciprocation etc are all attributable to Obama's desire to keep Turkey onside over NATO, Syria, Iran etc. Something Israel has had to swallow and difficult to do rather than be herself and stand up to Turkey on this whole matter.
43. #25 Israel foreign policy dictated
Get Real ,   UK   (06.30.13)
by Washington? As it was Obama who forced Israel into apologising and acted as the 'honest broker' in this matter, and Turkey is not reciprocating to Israel's gestures, then why should the problem not be brought to the attention of Congress?
44. # 5 - Avi, long memory
Norman ,   Boca Raton / USA   (07.24.13)
"Those with long memory would remember relations with Turkey soured before the Marmara" Yeah, I think they really started to go under when Avigdor Lieberman treated the Turkish representative with complete disrespect.

Hey Dov ben David, tell BUILD BABY BUILD!!!! to STFU! The Turks may read his post, and yours, and decide to stop importing billions worth of usd by Israel. Also, the US may decide to cut billions in aid to Israel if our elected representatives manage to grow a pair of balls! So billions here and billions there, pretty soon you'll be talking some real money!
