The US lost Iraq after ten years to Iran. In 2014 they will retreat from Afghanistan losing it to the Taliban. I think we can all agree that the US is far more powerrful than Israel, but even it can be defeated by a low level war. There is no reason Israel cannot be defeated in the same way. I believe that it has been in the past when it was driven out of South Lebannon, and when it lost the 2006 war with Hezbohlla.

Sarah, you are spot on in many respects although the solution which you suggest to the Palestinian problem should have been implemented between 1967 & 1970. Jordan will never offer any of its land to accomodate part of a newly formed PAL state EVEN THOUGH JORDAN ACCOUNTS FOR 77% of MANDATED PALESTINE AND over 70% of its current population is comprised of current & 1st generation Palestinians.
