1. Egypt's only hope now is the army
Cipora Julianna Kohn   (07.03.13)
the army needs to restore order and stability. it has to write a new constitution which guarantees the rights of all citizens. the economic situation must be improved if egypt is to survive as a nation. when the time is ripe, the army can appoint technocrats to run the country. the islamists are neither competent nor democratic. the majority of egyptians do not want to live under sharia law. egypt is a very ancient civilization which was crushed by the islamic conquest. the remnants of of that civilization do not want to live in the seventh century. they do not want to see their pyramids destroyed, nor do they want to wage jihad in far away lands.
2. Another milestone on Obamas Interference road in matters he
Alan ,   SA   (07.03.13)
never knew anything about. And after 5 years in the WH still knows nothing and never will! It is so sad to see what a mess he has brought the Middle East.-that Community Organiser from Chicago South Side! I say goodluck to Egyptian Military and correct thinking Egyptian people.
3. "Freedom more valuable than life"
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.03.13)
Good. Then the Moslem Brotherhood won't mind sacrificing theirs. What they have brought to Egypt scarcely qualifies as "freedom" in any event.
4. Go Army!
Cameron ,   USA   (07.03.13)
Your country is coming apart. Run those MB fools off & clear the streets. The MB has voided their right to rule.
5. Muslim Brotherhood or Nasserism choices
Peter L ,   Netherlands   (07.03.13)
Let me see, Egyptians can now choose then between a religious fascists society or a national socialist (Nasserism) fascist society, the latter doing those big demonstrations now. Can't say I admire them for their choices. They certainly love thugs.
6. My good wishes to all decent ordinary Egyptians.
Humanity   (07.03.13)
Good luck to all of you. Try to discard the many old myths injected into the public by the past dictators. Nurture the freedom, build a civil enlightened society. Live in happiness and peace. Equality, freedom, humanity!
7. Societies
Sagi   (07.03.13)
Run, owned and controlled by organized religion have their finger on the self destruct button, and that goes for Israel also.
8. Sounds like "Give me liberty or give me death"
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!! ,   United States   (07.03.13)
so, the muslim Brotherhood should take its own advice and commit suicide or, run like hell. Egypt cannot be free it's been a caliphate for too long to change. Most of its people are illiterate . Thank G-d Jews have a permanent home, Israel. KEEP BUILDING !!!!
9. Egyptian merry-go-round
Get Real ,   UK   (07.03.13)
Inevitable that it would require the Army to step in. Fine words and a new President may be elected in a year to begin a new era but how long will that last before the protests arise again ? Well the Army can always come back again.
10. Sagi wasteline..
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.03.13)
Sagi what is this anti religious obsession with you? You have saggy and predictable talkbacks.. Israel will maintain a religious Jewish identity whether you like it or not. The religious outnumber you. Most Sephardic and Mizrachi Jews identify with the religion and want Israel to be identified as Jewish without all of the barriers you would have put in the way to appease your new age atheistic friends in Europe.
11. To the Egyptian Army: Take Back Egypt!
President Obama ,   Hartford USA   (07.03.13)
It was a terrible mistake to allow Morsi and ilk to assume power. We apologize for ever saying anything positive about him. His is a liar and totally unqualified to lead the country. Remove every member of the MB from every government position. Hold new elections and only allow secular parties to run. Religion belongs in the mosque, not in the parliament. Restore sanity and civilized rule to your country and the USA will stand with you in your quest for democracy and freedom. (Again, I personally apologize for being such a twit in regards to my opinion of Morsi and the MB. You know, I'm still new to this job and I really don't know what I'm doing. I depended on Hillary and boy was that a mistake!)
12. # 10 Dror
Sagi   (07.03.13)
First of all I am not obsessed. Secondly, just as you are entitled to your opinion I am entitled to mine. I Happen to believe ardently in what I say, religion in general is the bane of Humanity and history has proven that time and time again. Religion is based on irrationality and is totally illogical and this is the reason why societies must not be controlled by organized religion. Societies must be controlled by laws which are based on common sense and common acceptance. I shall continue to voice my opinion, which by the way, is meant to be constuctive criticism, until my last breath. Religion is bad and evil, all religions are bad and evil, they poison people's minds with illogical nonsense which in turn leads to illogical behaviour.
13. #11 President Obama, you mean you are no longer enthralled
Harry Wright ,   UK   (07.03.13)
with the MB? Or are you, right now, desperately consulting with your MB advisers at the WH as to what to do next, to save Morsi from being kicked out? Anything else you can threaten the army with besides the financial aid? Did it slip your mind that you take your orders from Valerie Jarret and not Shrillary Clinton? You know, the Iranian/Chicago "Godmother" who occupies a wing at the WH to make sure you don't step out of line and foul up the agenda?
14. #12 Sagi
Malone ,   Hfx   (07.03.13)
100% agree with you.
15. No problem Sagi
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.03.13)
It is just sad that you chose to scream into the wind when not many in Israel want to hear what you have to say. This land is all about faith and religion. You cannot divorce this land from its' historical essence and spiritual essence. The last place atheists will ever win over is Israel. You have a better chance at turning the Muslims of Mecca atheists during Ramadan.
