1. Sagi is going to have a field day with this one
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.09.13)
Go for it Sagi.. We know exactly what is on your mind.
2. Same disease different religion
Benny   (07.09.13)
religious fundamentalism remains the primary source of bigotry, hatred and racism in the modern era and a threat to all peace loving democratic nations.
3. Ridiculous comparison
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.09.13)
Jewish values may sometimes be in conflict with democratic values , that does not mean we cannot have a democratic system of government, no matter how ugly and messy it looks. The more Jews become traditional and conservative in Israel the more it will be reflected in the government. There are many things we have in common with both conservative christians and muslims living in this country, for instance the sanctity of Jerusalem. The anti gay propoganda stance is also a common issue we share with christians and muslims. I applaud Putin on enacting the laws against gay propoganda in the education system. The more traditional Jews, Christians, and Muslims have a great deal more in common than the differences we shave amongst each other and with the new age atheists.
4. Don't spit in the well...
Miron ,   USA   (07.09.13)
Merkava tank, which saved Israel in Yom Kippur is designed by haredim. The more I listen to this talk from some Israelis the more it seems to me there is way too much marhuana sold these days between Beer - Sheva and Haifa.
5. reply to Dror, Haifa from Bin Dror from Luxor
Michael ,   Haifa   (07.09.13)
It is far from a ridiculous comparison. Quoting you in my context: "Islamic values may sometimes be in conflict with democratic values. That does not mean we cannot have a democratic system of government no matter how ugly and messy it looks. The more Muslims become traditional and conservative in Egypt, the more it will be reflected in the government" Ya Habibi, Dror from Haifa, I welcome you to the Brotherhood. Together we shall throw the secular infidels off the rooftops.
6. So basically Mr London
Sane   (07.09.13)
You believe in everyone's right to do whatever they want as long as it is exactly as you want.
7. Imagine the uproar if charedi media
Kalman   (07.09.13)
were to post such a racist anti semitic report like these "tolerant" seculars. I wish they do.
8. Democracy and Theocracy
Son Of Cyrus ,   UK   (07.09.13)
Theocracy will ultimately lead to a model of government like Islamic Republic of Iran where the Ayatollahs and Hojatolislams, etc... rule over every aspect of life and contradicts civil liberties of all humans regardless of their beliefs which we all know is despotic and corrupt to the core. The Jewish Nation and Israel are born from their beliefs in G-d, however, they have managed to create a liberal and tolerant society and are unique in the sense that not only it is a religion but also an ethnic group and nation unlike Muslims and Christians. As long as all elected representatives practice Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds all in Good Intent of course and respect the rights of others equally there will not be a problem. If they lie and use their position to take advantage of others for themselves and people who support them at the expense of others they should be subject to secular laws and punished according to their misdeeds.
9. The only fly in this ointment is the fact, that Mr.London is
tom ,   tel aviv   (07.09.13)
no Israeli patriot at all. He is a Hellenistic, fanatical left-winger, for whom Multiculturalism is of highest value. While he's quite right in principle, the thought of having to chose between his stance or the haredi one leads to the same conclusion: end of State of Israel as we know it. A tough one indeed. Problem lies in the fact, that almost all forms of right wing policy in Israel is "married" to religion, religion in turn, is "married" to darkest and most primitive of human fears.
10. Fools
Daniel Freedman ,   Nahariya   (07.09.13)
Once again Shame on Y-Net for being such self hating jews that they again throw their own under the bus with pure unforgivable lies. Please tell me when the last U. Orthodox family buried their daughter in sand to her neck and then stoned her to death? Please tell me the name of the last infidel that the U Orthodox beheaded? Please tell me the location of the last Mosque or Church that was burned or blown up by a U. Orthodox Jew? Please tell me the name of the last child a U. Orthodox Jew attached a bomb to, to blow up Arab Children....You can't you damb fool. enough of your goyisher hatred. pathetic fools that you are.
11. wow what pathetic self hatred
avi ,   beit shemesh   (07.09.13)
I am not a Chareidi ..however your comparison is stupid ..the stink of your hatred for the Chareidim comes through in this " article".Its time we stopped the self hatred and mutual hatred....take a time out and learn to love your nation with all the difference
12. taking orders
ben karan ,   usa /israel   (07.09.13)
and you lefties don't take orders from your representatives? come now- when i came to israel in 73 dayan, peres, golda, were demigods, they gave the socialist marching orders and the histadruth and others marched like lemmings-! your secular brain washing days are done- jews have been largely torah observant for 3,600 years and have done just fine-
13. Really!
Daniel Freedman ,   Israel, Nahariya   (07.09.13)
Are you friggen kidding me? No difference are you so much a self hatting Jew that you must lie like this. When was the last time you saw someone beheaded by the Haradi or temple burned or blown up or a child buried in sand and stoned to death....Shame on you, you Fool
14. Food for thought...
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.09.13)
Never doubt for a minute that fanatics are fanatics are fanatics - no matter what they are ideological about. Be it religion, politics or any given tribal belief a fanatic cannot be flexible. Such a person is dangerous to us all individually and to society as a whole.
15. 1. What's the matter Dror,
Yochevet ,   TA   (07.09.13)
No crazy religious ranting about Moshiach on our doorsteps, EUROTRASH, or stupid American Jews?
16. UltraOrthodox to Muslim LIKE NeturaKarta to Secular Leftists
Kalman   (07.09.13)
Ultra Orthodox with their religious belief in G-d is similar to Muslim in their belief in the same G-d. They both worship the same G-d. Netura Karta with their antiZionism is exactly like the Secular Leftists with their anti Zionism. They both want to get rid of Israel. The author is from the latter group.
17. #15
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.09.13)
Patience... I am just warming up.. Give me a chance to rehearse, and you will get the full Concerto in High Octaves... La La La La La LA LA Chhh.
18. Self hatred of the Jew.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (07.09.13)
Sagi is correct. Democracy for London are those opinions that he likes. Being in Israel for many years, I realized over many years that the old zionist elites confuse the concept of democracy with their intent to impose their false anti-zionistic, anti- religious, self hatred on the israeli nation. This article truly represents the very worst in Israeli society,
19. Sagi to Dror
Sagi   (07.09.13)
Well, well, well. While reading this article, without having seen the TBs, I muttered to myself, Dror must be thinking about me and he already knows what I shall be writing. Then I scrolled down to the TBs and what do know, it was #1. Well done Dror, now i shall proceed to have my field day.
20. # 12 What you stated
Sagi   (07.09.13)
is essentially correct. Take Dayan out of that eqaution, he was never a socialist, this is from someone who knows, not someone who thinks.
21. Yaron London's Op-ed
Larry ,   Cape Town, S. Africa   (07.09.13)
Excellent, incisive analysis
22. More dross from the arch anti-semite Yaron London
Akiva   (07.09.13)
Where is the comparison between Jews and Muslims? Between halacha and sharia? Between Zionist, democratic parties that represent minority sector's rights (like Shas) and large groups like the Muslim Brotherhood who want total conquest, never mind their links to terrorism (Hamas etc) An absolutely absurd article from the mind of crown chief of loony lefty opinion writers on Ynet who has nothing better to do than tar as many religious Israeli Jews with as broad an anti-semitic brush as he can find.
23. Good and Evil.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (07.09.13)
London is a very good example of what is wrong with modern day israel. A media personality who is unable to distinguish between good and evil, Amalek. If things are so bad with the haredim, let London move to Cairo and live with Islamists, or join Islamic Jihad in Syria. London will be happier.
24. Mr Kalman, you have obviously never read .....
Bartley Kulp ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.09.13)
You have obviously never read a Hareidi newspaper or you would never make this comment. Scolding secular people is their fetish.
25. # 4 Miron
Sagi   (07.09.13)
The marihuana bit is correct, the Merkava bit is nonsense. It was not thought up, designed or created by Haredim and it did not save the day in 1973. The main battle tank in 1973 was the M60, second in line was the Centurion. I could give you a whole lecture on battles, numbers, losses, gains and most important the quantity of M60s made available to us on an immediate basis by none other than Mr."would you buy a used car from him" and his so called "Jew hater" Mr. K. the emminent professor. I know, not from hearsay, I was there and involved in more ways than I wish to expound on here.
26. everyday a new nut
David ,   On this planet   (07.09.13)
writes garbage.. NO there are no crazy Israelis.LOL
27. whats the obsession of the haredi draft on this site?
zionist forever   (07.09.13)
You wanted them in the military despite the fact that they are not even needed. Now having religious commanders in a religious unit .. WHY? NetzahYehudi is a religious unit which only religious serve in and so they have decided to replace the secular commanders with religious ones, why not? Its actually logical that a religious unit is run by religious commanders. Is a secular commander better qualified than a religious one? Are only secular commanders capable of winning wars? Having a secular state does not mean you have to confront the religious on every little insignificant issue. Better work with than against religious
28. !973, a total failure of the political and military elites.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (07.09.13)
Sagi, please let me correct you. In 1973 the front line tank on the Golan was the Centurion. The front line tank in Sinai the M48 and M60 Patton. In 1973 it was not the failure of the tanks it was the failure of the political and military elites. The elites totally ignored the Egyptian military build up on the canal and the Syrian buildup on the Golan. If there had been more israeli armor in Sinai and more Israeli armor on the Golan, correctly DEPLOYED, the war would have been over in one week with a massive arab defeat.
29. To make such a comparison; Taron is 1 sick dude!
Shadoil79 ,   Jerusalem   (07.09.13)
30. an absolutely disgusting article written by
Julie ,   Israel   (07.09.13)
a person who has no clue about the Muslim brotherhood. Mr. London,SIR, I suggest you read some facts from Robert Spencer, Nonie Darwish , Brigette Gabriel, Pamela Geller, Dr. Daniel Pipes, Ann Bayefsky, Douglas Murray, Walid Shoebatet al. YOu, Mr. London have no clue and are anti obswervant Jews as well. A pretty sorry excuse for an article
