In the litany of dumb moves by this administration (like procuring military helicopters from Russia and planes from Brazil to give to Afghanistan) giving fighter jets to Egypt is among the most foolish. Are they just trying to buy favor with Egypt's military? Egypt is a failing state with a basket economy. The country needs some $20 billion annually just to help procure wheat and diesel fuel, both in desperate shortage. Farmers don't have enough diesel to run their tractors, exacerbating the food shortage. Of what good are advanced fighter jets, some 20 being delivered this year?

Reduce the military aid...F-16's don't fill up the stomach! Send Wheat, Sugar, Corn, Barley, Oats...Staples people can eat! The Military is doing fine, it's the people that are starving!

Even your own leaders are begging the US to keep the aid flowing to Egypt in spite of US laws that prohibit giving aid to governments that are formed as a result of a military coup, Oh by the way you are welcome for the 3 billion we send you every year that our own military can use. That aid we send Egypt keeps the Sinai stable which benefits Israel. I personally say cut all aid and give it to our own military. Israel can afford to pay and it doesn't have a problem with taxing the hell out of it's citizens.

I'm against bribing this gentile nation. Supporting unstable governments with expensive high maintenance equipment is dishonorable. Obama's paying a bribe for Egypt's cooperation in the area. As long as the military is fed, it's business as usual, but power is up for grabs everyday.
