Can't comprehend the statement that the sphinx "either arrived around the beginning of the 2nd century BCE...or... in the 14th century BCE." Perhaps you meant "the beginning of the 2nd millennium BCE"???

neither the ancient egyptians nor the ancient canaanites were arabs. the egyptians depicted semitic peoples as foreigners with beards in tomb paintings over 3,000 years ago.

The know it all annoying Israeli/Jew bully. On behalf of many who are too intimidated to say it.
9. Another thought / idea: suppose Egyptian travelers
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (07.15.13)
for instance, peddlers, somehow carried this "piece" of a sphinx to the northern Israel area and left it for a Jewish rich collector. Now that would be a good explanation.

English must be a second language for you. The word "unique" may have gradations. Something CAN be more unique than something else and it is not forbidden to say it.
