what does this have to do with edward snowden? snowden is an example of what happens when a real intelligence source speaks to the media without permission from his superiors - a "career-ending move", to say the least. by comparison, these anonymous sources in american intelligence, who brief cnn or the new york times, are doing so with the knowledge and approval of their bosses. this is not a "leak" (or journalism), but disinformation, released anonymously, and for political purposes.
