1. As a secular Israeli I have to say, that our citizens are
tom ,   tel aviv   (07.16.13)
poorly educated in our own history and it shows. Every one of us should claim the Temple Mount as a Jewish site, regardless of belief in the Friend upstairs. It is the backbone of our existence & our "claim to fame" if you wish. If we abandon that (just like we've abandoned Jericho, in itself an unfathomable act!) we are on our way to oblivion. Of course we are civilized enough to let everybody come & pray to their own Imaginary Friend and that includes Arab usurpers as well.
2. Rebuilding the temple...
robert ,   antwerp belgium   (07.16.13)
would not be without danger even if the muslims would have no objection. First of all because of the fate of the two first temples. They were destroyed because of infighting, disunity and our sins. Secondly, some Rabbis, like the Rambam, did not believe that sacrificing animals would come back. It is for the Messiah as a messenger to say what we will have to do. Finally, the prayer houses including the kotel and study of the Tora and Talmud are today a healthy way to live one's religiuous beliefs
3. Toss the poll and lump it because
Israeli 2   (07.16.13)
Israel, Jerusalem and the Beit Hamikdash are all connected as one entity. G-d has seen many polls throughout his creation. None of it matters to him. He has His ways.
4. Prophecies and God's promise regarding the Temple
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.16.13)
The Third House of God shall be rebuilt very soon. It will be brought about by the Hand of God. The world will fall silent and shall be powerless to stop the rebuilding. Of course both Christians and Muslims knew of these prophecies in the times when they were forming their replacement religions based on our Jewish texts. Hermeneutics will not help them when the day comes. Both of them know the rebuilding will occur and of-course both replacement religions have their stories to tell of a false Jewish Messiah that will be succeeded by the Christian Messiah for the Christians and a Muslim one for the Muslims... Rigggght... what a pathetic joke..
5. Statistical discrepancy
Oren   (07.16.13)
How does the response of 523 people represent the beliefs and desires of the nearly 12 million Jews in Israel and throughout the world?
6. What is freedom?
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (07.16.13)
Once Jews are 'free' on the Temple Mount they may unwittingly transgress grave Torah prohibitions, and this is why so many religious Jews seem to give strange answers in the survey. We look forward to building the Third Temple led not by a govt coalition, but by Moshiach, speedily and in our days!
7. Dror... What is pathetic is your comment

And you by extension...

Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (07.17.13)
There are places for all Abrahamic faiths into the Holy Land. Temple Mount belongs to Israel, but it is also important to Muslim people. We, Christians, would like to visit it, praying for peace with our Jewish and Islamic brothers. Someday in the future, that will be possible. In the same God we believe. But terrorism must be erased. Salam. Shalom.
11. It's not really a matter of opinion, though, is it.
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (07.17.13)
This isn't something that is exactly a mystery. Clearly the place of the Holy of Holies is far more sacred than an outside abutting wall for the Temple housing it. What this does show is how poorly educated some people are. Traditionally the Temple Mount is so sacred that ordinary Jews are not supposed to go there lest they tread where they should not. But the result is that many uneducated Jews ignore it entirely, and think that the wall -- which we are allowed to actually go to -- is somehow holier, because they have an experience of it. What are we to take from this?
12. Good one Judge @ #10
Israeli 2   (07.17.13)
You speak the truth. The Temple Mount belongs to Israel....everyone else is welcome to visit and worship. We want PEACE also Shalom and Salami to you too.

You Israeli Khazar were not converted to Judaism until the 8th Century after Mohhammad MPUH had seen God on Mt. Moriah. The Palestinians are Semitic from Abraham and Shem. The Twelve Tribes of Israel became the Muslims who still worship our Heavenly Father on the Dome of the Rock today. You Khazars have no historical claim or right to the Temple Mount. Will you be strong like Abraham and make a sacrifice on Mt. Moriah that will make God and the whole World love you?
17. Temple Mount
Debbyfay   (08.02.13)
Lets give it up why not, we are on a roll of being the dumbest and most cowardly people alive. WHo needs our historical religious monuments and shrines. Hell give them all of it and be done with it. What losers our leaders are
18.  Poll: Israel's Jews abandoning Temple
George Weiss ,   Teaneck, USA   (09.04.13)
The people of israel should learn some history. The Western Wall is a consolation prize resulting from the prohibition of jews to go to the Har habayit. the Wall is a place of despair and sadness and this is what the people of Israel want? Shame on them.
