Israel on the UNSC would have to take positions on a standing for or against all kinds of things, like Gadhafi or Mubarak or Assad. Globally, not just in the neighborhood. Even border issues between Arab countries and African countries.

all of obama's appointees are strongly anti-israel. samantha power has said some of the most anti-israel statements ever uttered by a public figure. she is also amazingly ignorant and incompetent. she wanted to invade a nuclear power. power was also the instigator of the lybian war which handed the country to members of al qaeda.

That was also my first reaction when I saw this story. Ms. Power has obviously learned how to play the game a little better from her boss. The only question is what is the endgame? A much truncated Israel, or it's eventual dismemberment?

Power is being coached. Regarding Israel, she knows that she's got to sing a different tune than her previous 'invade Israel' and her smirk remark about American Jews. At least until she officially assumes the position.

I hope Israel can join the UNSC. It is good for the country, it is good for the international community. Arab countries should be the first to endorse the Israeli request. Israel is a country as any other and has the right to be in the highest positions in any international organization. Besides, we have a lot to learn with Israelis.

Israel would behave like any other country, making all attempts to further her national interests and whenever possible the interests of her allies. that means that israel will usually vote with the united states. on other occasions, israel might abstain, as do all other countries.

In the Arab world most of the people would like to see Arab Embassies in Jerusalem some day and enjoy all the wonderful things your country has to offer. We have our fanatical who are against the peace, like you have yours, the settlers and the extreme right. We are against the occupation. Recede your lines to the Green Line and 56 countries would automatically recognize Israel and live in peace, including Iran. Just imagine how wonderful would be for us and you to travel freely in the region. Israel would be seen as a vitrine of the Middle East and we could spend our money in your hotels, beaches and malls.
