1. Those SURRENDER talks will FAIL !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (07.25.13)
2. You're asking the Israeli people to
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (07.25.13)
decide their fate when you see who they've voted into office? Why bother to elect leaders if the public eliminates them, even by the 'leaders' request to be excepted from service over israel's most urgent needs? Pardon me but, some of the decisions you've made to date have been nearly fatal to the State, her people, and those who've died by the hands of the pals. Why would ANY ONE compound the past errors to the present? If any Israeli votes to allow their enemy within their gates, cede Israel's land, they will live to regret it. You would have signed your own death warrant. My G-d, my G-d. I pray you intervene for those who cannot think properly and would die for it.
3. talks ?!
yosef, phd ,   usa -israel   (07.25.13)
What a hypocritical, indeed by criminal waste of time - just to please the "shnobel peace price" aspirants in the white house.... how repulsive
4. Righteous, wise patriots of Israel. DEMAND end of sick talks
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.25.13)
Let every good Jew, every Israeli patriot, every true friend of Israel all rise up as one to DEMAND the immediate, permanent end of all sick evil talks with the genocidal P.A. This land is ours. We must not speak to genocidal poseurs who seek to mass murder us and steal our sole tiny Homeland. For an excellent article on how Israel should respond to the racist E.U. boycott, google Italian journalist Giulio Meotti.
5. Judea & Shomron
KK   (07.25.13)
It said:The bill that was drafted does not specify Judea and Samaria; however Likud members explained that a referendum will be carried out also in cases of transfers in these areas.? The Gov' better think thrice if they decide to give away Judea and Shomron. We have thousands Jewish residents who live in there . it was, IS ours not be brought into the negotiations if EVER the Arabs persists Meantime, the US is pushing Israel thinking Kerry has accomplished ,but the consequences says NOT .
6. Referendum
RH ,   Ireland   (07.25.13)
A referendum will HAVE to be at the same time that the Palestinians hold a referendum! As both peoples will have to agree for there to be a workable a solution! This is what happened in Northern Ireland, the terrorists had to come on board for the peoples voice to be heard! If one side rejects the referendum, it is over! Israel can not be forced to abide by their own concessions if the Palestinians waiting in the background with rockets and rpg's! The Palestinian freedom fighters/terrorists have to agree! If not, don't even bother with these corrupt people! When will Abbas and his ilk get a democratic mandate from "his" people???? Elections overdue by many, many years!
7. Livni is the official voice of Obama
(07.25.13)
8. "under the Cloak of secerecy"
Rabb ,   EternalCity   (07.25.13)
It ain't no secrete nor a joke, I'm getting ready to Quake you peoples and this region.
9. Selling the country
KK   (07.25.13)
To think Israel won 10 Nobel Laureates in the past 65+ years while its politicians are ready to diminish the country by giving in to the likes of BHO & minions like Kerry ( fat head) And the fakes to please the world. by giving away Jehuda & Shomron ours never to be countenanced.
10. # 1, 2, 3 You are all disgusting
Stan ,   Israel   (07.25.13)
1 and 2 If Israel is so important to you, why aren't you here with us? If God really influenced what happens here, we would not need a referendum.
11. ANY BETS AS TO HOW LONG THESE TALKS WILL LAST?
stude ham   (07.25.13)
given that the ever popular cessionist livni will propose giving away Israel....
12. Referendumlll
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.25.13)
Who wants it and why? Seemingly it is the most democratic form of decision, giving the vote to the people... but Bibi wants it so that he cannot be blamed by anyone for making the decision alone - a very poor example of a leader Lieberman doesn't want it because he doesn't believe in a government 'by the people and for the people'. Bennet wants it because he believes - rightly or wrongly - that the 'settlers' and their sympathizers out number those against the settlements. Livni wants it because she can't see far enough ahead to take possible consequences into consideration. Do 'the people' want it? I think the answer is yes - it gives us, all of us, a say in the final decision and so it should be. It will depend however on who can get out the most votes. So friends, if and when the day comes - GET OUT AND VOTE!
13. number 3 "talks"
KK   (07.25.13)
Or They are all tripping over themselves trying too hard to appease the man at the white house. And in doing so are not advancing an inch. With the exception of Lieberman who's plans and calm thought processes were they to acknowledge it would solve BB's predicament. Netanyahu is acting Indecisively, almost like a lost soul... Shame
14. May the talks fail miserabley, Amen
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.25.13)
I hope they end quickly. Who needs these damn talks? By winter time the world will be totally upside down. These talks will be meaningless..
15. #12 - correction, Livni is voting against it
the mad zionist ,   san francisco   (07.25.13)
not for the referendum. and the reason she's voting against it is because she feels she knows what's better for Israelis then the Israelis know what's better for themselves, just like Obama said after his election win. that he knows what's better for Israelis then Israelis. livni would want to take any deal at all just so she can get credit and become relevant again so she can become prime minister. a referendum is the fairest thing possible. only problem is that thePalestinian people are fed so much propaganda that they will reject almost anything. because everything Abbas says to the west, he says completely opposite to his own people in Arabic. and it just happens to be that he always says they can never give up their fight to getting ALL of the land of Israel. so why would they agree to something they would see as traitorous.
16. The key to the talks - interests inside ´48
Nir ,   Ramat Hasharon   (07.25.13)
The palestinians must care for their interests inside Israel of ´48 borders. They will have a nation state in ´67 borders anyway (west bank and Gaza), but in these peace talks they must emphasize their interests inside Israel by the following issues : 1. A right of return to a limited amount of Palestinians with humanitarian needs. 2. A strong Palestinian arab minority inside Israel with equal rights guaranteed by the US and EU. 3. Working permits for non Israeli Palestinians in Israel. 4. A right of free passage and transport without delays between the west bank and Gaza.
17. Talk peace, please. But, when you do so, please do it within
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.25.13)
the context of the fundamental elements of international law related to the Arab Israeli conflict: 1) San Remo conference decisions, 1920 2) League of Nations decisions, 1922 3) UN Charter, Article 80, 1945 And, the implementation of the above ought to be strictly based on UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967
18. Words of advice to anyone dealing
17   (07.25.13)
with Israeli "kol nideri" During Yum Kippur this declaration is made three times before the congregation, that all vows, pledges, promises made during the upcomming year are null & void.
19. Jehuda "Talk peace, but when they accept
KK   (07.25.13)
Accept what you have written which is the nub of the matter. A short reminder on the rights of the Jews in Israel ( will never call it palestine ) “In Palestine as of Right and Not on Sufferance ...” “When it is asked what is meant by the development of the Jewish National Home in Palestine, it may be answered that it is not the imposition of a Jewish nationality upon the inhabitants of Palestine as a whole, but the further development of the existing Jewish community, with the assistance of Jews in other parts of the world, in order that it may become a centre in which the Jewish people as a whole may take, on grounds of religion and race, an interest and a pride. But in order that this community should have the best prospect of free development and provide a full opportunity for the Jewish people to display its capacities, it is essential that it should know that it is in Palestine as of right and not on sufferance.” Winston Churchill British Secretary of State for the Colonies
20. let's be honest;
arne ,   chicag usa   (07.25.13)
Israel does not want a state nor does the Pals.Reason being quite simple; We know why Israel doesn't but the reason the Pals don't is also simple.A state will require a democraticform of government which they won't give their people and they will have to perform well enough to sustain themselves economically which they will not be able to. they are better off being a "ward of the state". In the meantime they will make demands of Israel that they know will be unacceptable, but the world will look upon Israel as the one to blame. The Pals leadership only has to look around the Arab world to see the rioting, killings and instability caused by the thought of democracy and they don't want that--It would cost them not only their jobs ,but possibly their lives.
21. Allow them talk
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (07.25.13)
Let them talk just as long as shots aren't being fired into Israel, first bullet of rocket, end of discussion
22. To no 16 You ask too much .
KK   (07.25.13)
I already read at Haaretz that BB has almost giving in as a promise to the pals going back PRE 67 Lines. If he does that I hope the population throws him OUT OF OFFICE . As for your list : I fear you are dreaming Israel will never consider taking such a foolish step. Additionaly this is as though while we have been murdered fighting the enemy within to survive and for what? For naught. step

24. The fate of Israel is sealed
Sagi   (07.25.13)
With or without a peaceful conclusion to the long standing conflict, the fate of this land is sealed. It will become a country dominated, in demographic terms, by ultra orthodox Jews and indigenous Arabs. The sooner the secular population, that's me and all the other offspring of the founding fathers of Zionism, realize this the better for them. If the two groups mentioned are demographically dominant then it follows that they will also be politically dominant, in other words and put into simple terms, the whole Zionist project is on it's way down the tube, or into the dustbin of history. Nothing at this stage will convince me otherwise. Whether I like it or not we live in a world where people have a right to express themselves in terms of nationality and numbers in the end count.
25. Talks to nowhere!
Sam Sweiry ,   Eastbourne - UK   (07.25.13)
I predict the end result - we have met - we agree to disagree - end of talk
26. Sagi, I hate to contradict you but,
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.25.13)
The majority population will be Jewish and they will be from all of the streams not just ultra orthodox. By winter time the situation around the world will turn the lives and existence of those Jews that are sitting on the fence into an unbareable one . It is not the anti semitism, it is the absolute devastation that will be heaped upon the markets and the financial institutions. You need to read up on the crack up that is already under way. Top economistss and even former US Secretaries of the Treasury are convinced it is coming within the next few months. Wait and watch Sagi. The kabesa, if it is still working , will process all of the truth and you will be able to clearly see what you can't see yet.

28. 10. # GIVE IT TO THEM STAN !!!!
Norman ,   Boca Raton / USA   (07.25.13)
You're right! Tell these idiots to shut up unless they move to Israel! All these armchair warriors and chicken hawks are really brave so far from the fray! When they have their OWN skin in the game then they can say something!
29. 17 I certainly second your demand. Thanks.
Deb J. Goldfarb ,   Washington, DC USA   (07.25.13)
30. What happened to 'no preconditions??'
David ,   Hartford USA   (07.25.13)
How can 'everything' be on the table if Abbas has weaseled terrorists out of prison prior to the talks? Nothing should be done prior to the conclusion of talks. If the talks amount to nothing, at least psychopathic murderers won't be on the streets of Israel. Lastly, I hope Mr. Kerry has the balls to ask Abbas about PA TV shows that demonize Israel and promote jihad and martyrdom. Maybe Abbas can show Israel a 'goodwill gesture' and have that bilge removed from PA TV. (But I doubt he will. Only Israel is forced into these meaningless gestures that result in Israeli deaths.)
