Better the devil you know, than the devil you don't know. Assad is no angel, however anybody that thinks the jihadi groups will stabilize Syria and become a western style democracy is in for a big surprise. Israel is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Let's hope they fight to the last man. You don't want Assad, Hezbollah, Iran to win, then again do we really want the Islamic fanatics to win?

No need to panic. The Israeli economy is growing (3.8% in 2013), tourism to Israel is stronger than ever, the IDF is ready for every scenario, including scenarios of anarchy in Syria and other states around Israel. European economy is in depression, the Arab world falls apart, but Israel is stronger than ever. To all the non-Israelis readers - newspapers always exaggerate the situation with bombastic headlines, because they have to sell.
4. Do not fool yourself Israeli @# 3
Israeli 2   (07.31.13)
Although everything you wrote may be and most likely is correct, Israel with its current leadership is not Israel but Washington DC. Do you get that concept? They are lapdogs of the Americans. They are Leftists. They are Bogies and Balonies and will not do a thing to defend itself unless they may. Trust me...I know....I am

Israel can easily neutralize large systems like SA-8 and SA-17. The only threat comes from SA16, 18 and 24. In the past these were hard to get, but thanks to Obama's destruction of Libya and the Syrian civil war, they are readily available to Middle East Jihadis. But even these are no real threat unless they were deployed in Samaria (the area of Nili) to threaten civilian airliners landing at Ben Gurion airport. That won't happen unless some Israeli leader is stupid enough to negotiate surrender of Samaria. Uh oh....
