31. Do not fret over Jerusalem
Erudite ,   Australia   (08.03.13)
In the not so distant future Europe,U.K,Canada and America will fight for their lives reclaiming their lands from Islamic take over resulting in ethnic cleansing the pagan moon worshippers. Israel will have a free hand to remove ALL the interlopers from ALL of Israel, Jerusalem,Judea and Samaria to "who gives a damn where" as by then no one will careless.
32. #24. We have to arouse the patriotic PASSION of Israelis.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.03.13)
It is possible and it is totally necessary. As you note, truth is completely on our side. We need to arouse the passions of Israelis to fight for our land. There is no cause justifying passion more than ours. After all, Israel was not reborn after 2,000 years to be endangered by a horrid pretender in the White House and a pack of genocidal "Palestinian" poseurs. Let us all get PASSIONATE about Israel, Judea, Samaria and our inalienable rights to our land!
33. Jerusalem on the table
Glenn ,   Santa Monica, CA   (08.03.13)
Great article. The Arabs can have the Shuffat RC in East Jerusalem...no more. How did 242 translate to post 67 = Arab land? The referendum will fix this. Not all Israelis have lost their way.
34. To no 15 You dont know what yr talking
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (08.03.13)
Jerusalem and Bethlehem were given Status Separatus, by de UN, the resolution of Partition is 1947 not in 48. When the First Settlers came in mids 1850 Palestine was a deserted Land. read chronics of the epoc like the one given by Marc Twain. Jews florished the desert and dried the swamps Bought the lands from the arab landloards.
35. Some corrections:
Robert ,   USA   (08.03.13)
1 Israel is NOT an ally of USA. USS Liberty, Lavon affair, Rachel Corrie, etc 2. Jerusalem was NOT the capital of Israel for thousands of years. The so called kingdom of alleged "david" lasted about 6 hundred years (if that). 3. Since 70 AD the jewish race has been absorbed into their host nations. The so called jews are Khazars & European lineage. 4. For the last 1400 years Jerusalem has been a Palestian city
36. Yosi #23
Austin ,   Canada   (08.03.13)
That guy #4 has been a pest on this newspaper for at least the past 5-7 years that I recall. Probably longer. It was obvious to me from the very first comment that he was more than a bit touched. But he keeps posting in his silly inane, cross-legged hookah-gurgling drek all the time. Now he's moved to Paris, and I'm afraid he might move nearer to me and contaminate the whole neighbourhood. You see, I regard him as a plague.
37. Zipi @ #25
Israeli 2   (08.03.13)
Of course you are right, but you are dealing with a very dangerous person here. He knows it all. He is a Goebel, an expert in propaganda.
38. #7: Dina
Israeli 2   (08.03.13)
1) We do not have Israel yet because 2) Our leaders are confused, leftists and not representing us and Israel as they should. 3) They have another vision of Eretz Yisrael - not the biblical vision or the Torah version. 4) All land must be annexed. 5) Jerusalem in its entirety and everything around it for miles into "Contemporary Jordan" is ours and must be annexed. . 6) They talk Zionism, intellectualism pragmatism and leftism. 7) They are NOT our representatives.
39. NEVER MIND....
les ,   canada   (08.03.13)
israel's "best friend" not recognizing jerusalem as israel's capital. never mind our "best enemy" the eu undermining israel at every turn. israel stands alone no matter how it tries to please the world. to survive israel must establish the borders from the river jordan to the sea, including all of the negev to the suez. if the arabs don't like it, will suffer the consequences. BOOM!
40. 15.
Birdi ,   Israel   (08.03.13)
Think as you may, that's your right. Try to influence people here with lies is not your right. You are wrong. Totally wrong.
41. To no 15- clueless
SAM ,   Youngstown, OH   (08.03.13)
In the 1948 Partition Plan Jerusalem. was to be an independent city administered by the UN. There has been a continuous Jewish presence in this area for thousands of years. The Arabs rejected the 1948 plan and started a war even though it gave them a state as well. Nothing has changed in the last 65 years and the Arabs will never accept a Jewish state even to their own detriment.
42. 35 Palestinr was an Arab invention
do the research   (08.03.13)
Even the Arabs said there was no such thing as Palestinian Arab. Before making these 'corrections' you might want to check facts instead of propaganda!
43. TO # 11 - ABOUT RABIN !
FO ,   Belgium   (08.03.13)
"In an interview to the Belgian TV, Yitzhak Rabin declared: (copied from the audio track) "... the so-called PLO will never be part of negotiations... We believe that the Palestinian issue can and should be solved in a context of peace that will be negotiated between Israel and Jordan...but it will never be through the so-called PLO, or through a third independent state. Because a third independent state between Jordan and Israel cannot solve the Palestinian issue, and will serve as a time bomb against Jordan as well as against Israel". Amazing isn't it? So what happened with him? Rabin was a man with vision, but unfortunately with a weak character. He was pushed in his back to sign what he absolutely didn't believe in, in the same way, as years before, when he was pushed in his back to take command of a Palmah unit for shooting and killing 16 Jews on board of the vessel "Altalena", who came to fight for the new born Jewish state and brought weapons and ammunition in quantity and quality that nobody had dreamed of.
44. #30. We must revive the gutsy proud spirit of Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.03.13)
#30 Amos. You make a great point. Israel in 1948 was, of course, far poorer and weaker than Israel today. But Israel in 1948 was a gutsy state. As you note, it did not take orders from anyone. We must revive the gutsy proud spirit of Israel. We must repair the damage done by leftist fools.
45. #44 Chaim - Something else is going on
Tracy   (08.03.13)
There is a possibility that your grassroots leaders have been 'pressured' to divert Jews' energies into activities that are not any threat to the ruling elite. For example: - political parties (that routinely betray voters once in power) - Meaningless protest activities such as price tag. - Keep-busy activities such as planting trees and building shacks on hilltops that give the illusion of Zionism. All the while there is reluctance to unify the settlements under one single advocacy organization. What I'm trying to say is that in order to understand apparent passivity, the focus should be on the grassroots leadership. Is the government influencing them, or intimidating them into inaction or meaningless activities? What happens to those who want to seriously organize the settlers? Settlers care about their land. Something else has been going on.

Lazerbenabba ,   London, England   (08.04.13)
No argument!
49. #45. Do not let the evil operate in the dark!!
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.04.13)
#45 Tracy. Whatever threats are being made against Israeli patriots, to pressure them to knuckle under to leftists, should be made public. This applies on every level. Bibi should tell all of Israel what threats the Obama regime has made against Israel. Let us deal with them as a strong, unified nation. This is INFINITELY better than hiding the threats and submitting to them! Let us establish a patriotic snitch line. All threats made against Judea and Samaria leaders and all other Jewish patriots, must be made public. We will deal with them as a strong united people. Do not let the evil operate in the dark!!
50. To no 35- DELUSIONAL
Riley ,   New Haven,CT USA   (08.04.13)
You can not be serious Your revisionist history is laughable Besides all the other lies in your pathetic comment the one about Jerusalem being a Palestinian city for 1400 years is the most remarkable. You remind me of the Arab guide I had at the temple mount spinning a completely distorted history. For all intents and purposes the term Palestinian for Arabs did not even come into use until after the 1967 war when it became politically convenient to do so
51. In Interim
Zechariah   (08.04.13)
In The Interim The Defense Shield and Deterrant Capacity of Israel needs concentration not only for now but for centuries Forward. At the Moment the Temple Mount is too divisive and Provocative .
52. TO LAZERBENABBA # 48 !
FO ,   Belgium   (08.04.13)
No argument? Really? You are kidding, I hope. Destroying the vessel "Altalena" was Ben Gurion's answer to Begin's request to transfer 20% of the weapons on board to East Jerusalem, where some Irgun units, short of weapons and ammunition, desperately tried to contain the Jordanian Legion. Should Ben Gurion's answer have been a yes, then the whole of Jerusalem and most of the West Bank would have been incorporated in the so-called green line, and Mrs. Shoula Romano Horing would not have written an article called "Jerusalem on the table" but perhaps one about the flora and the wildlife, let say in the Negev.
53. Jerusalem is your...

eternal Capital. That issue is a sacred truth. But Arab dwellers, since respecting Israeli sovereignty, may have autonomy in their quarters. As a friend, I don't see any problem if it is done.
54. # 22
Grey Lion ,   Chatt, Tn   (08.05.13)
The UN created the modern Israel. It can and has make borders. Israel was notified in 1967 that any actions in occupied land can be lost. Time for making amends has past. It's time for some painful returns. If Palestine becomes a country and no peace agreement is signed the 1967 Green line will be the borders.
55. Which Jerusalem?
David ,   Seattle   (08.05.13)
This debate always makes my head spin. Are we talking about Jerusalem as it was prior to the War of Independence, as it was in 1967 on the eve of the Six Day War, or as it is today? In every case you will be looking at a different map with different municipal boundaries for the Holy city. The Arab villages that were annexed after 1967 weren't originally a part of the city. They have simply grown up and been integrated into modern Jerusalem, but they were separate historically. Insofar as we keep the Holy Basin, Mount of Olives, Mount Scopus, and the predominantly Jewish neighborhoods, who cares if the traditionally Arab villages are parceled back out? Let the PA make its Capitol in Shuafat - and let them call it Jerusalem, which it never was.
56. Converts Don't Count
chester ,   miami   (08.05.13)
The promises of God were not made to Ashkenazis or other converts.
57. Dont forget that Israelis will vote in a referendum
Brett L ,   JHB RSA   (08.06.13)
As to whether they agree that any settlement can be approved before it goes into effect. Maybe the government isn't so stupid after all. Lets just pay there are more people that don't want to divide our inalienable capital!
58. 'Things' on the table.
Lee ,   Londonderry   (08.06.13)
A very good and TRUE article. Had successive governments followed Golda's attitude to peace i.e. 'if you do not like our country then leave' there would not be the present problems! Once things are 'put on the table' their full legitimacy are automatically put in doubt and you then need brilliant negotiators alas, need I say more.
