gays4Israel   (08.01.13)
may the event get stronger and stronger every year !
2. Disgusting.
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (08.01.13)
3. unholy
david ,   paris france   (08.01.13)
any city that allows sodomites and lesbians to parade through it can no longer call itself holy.
4. Israel must remain a Democracy
Twice Blessed   (08.01.13)
and that means inclusion of all people. I hope the parade will give hope to all those struggling with their identity issues.
5. End Israeli PinkWashing
QueersForPalestineHQ ,   San Francisco, CA   (08.02.13)
Notice to Israelis: We see what you are doing and Queers For Palestine HeadQuarters are demanding along with QUIT (Queers Undermining Israeli Terror) and Queers For Iran Organization that you end pinkwashing along with the occupation. Our campaign to stop this israeli advance in hijacking the queer movement and pointing a finger of homophobia towars islamic countries wont work. Our organizations are spreading rapidly accross america and countless states and counties along with Universitas. We wont stop until this Pinkwashing and Occupation ends!!!
6. I Took Part in it...
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (08.02.13)
I took part in this Jerusalem parade from Mamilla and all the way to the park opposite the Knesset... This is my fourth year of participating in the LGBT-Q Parade , proudly and overtly...
7. Gay pride in Ramallah will be news.
Mark ,   London, UK   (08.02.13)
I agree with Arthur, the behaviour of haredi is disgusting but no news there either. Sad to hear that the legislature is not so supportive, but be glad that the supreme court exists to challenge the government.
8. Gays can parade all day, they will never be accepted
Jake ,   USA   (08.02.13)
The media tries to equate the gay issue with the racial equality issue, but there is no comparison. Racism is disappearing because people realize that the color of a persons skin is no reason to shun them, however gays aren't and won't be accepted because of what they *do*, not because of what they are.
9. Why in Jerusalem? It's a political statement
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.02.13)
of power of the elite over the religious.
10. Palestinian Gay Men
Samir ,   Palestine   (08.02.13)
I am Palestinian and have been out for man years. I congratulate the community for putting on such a great parade. It's important to stand up for our rights and let th whole country know that we are here, standing up for our rights. We still have a long way to go facing daily persecution, beatings, being shunned socially and stigmatised as "that nasty guy that likes to play with other men's sausages" is not easy. I pray to the East and kneel to the God and wish for world piece.
11. Rich of Canada
Daniel ,   TLV   (08.02.13)
Actually Rich Pride parades are held in many world capitals as a political statement to law makers. Therefore you will find parades in London Washington, D.C. Ottawa, Canberra, and Jerusalem.
12. #11 Jerusalem is different
David ,   On this planet   (08.02.13)
It is connected to many religions who do not support the Gay community, stay out of trouble and out of that city . try to have your parade in the Vatican and see how that works for you
13. Left-Liberals and Apathetic, Non-Religious Mediocrity Won't
Robert Blum ,   New Abany, USA   (08.02.13)
Hear My Opinion, but even narrow-minded people should allow it to be voiced and to be read. Being anti-homosexual is NOT racist. Homosexuals are people, clearly it is not debatable. In homosexuals' great efforts to gain legitimacy in its standing in mainstream society, it has cut deeply into the fabric of that universal mainstream, by hammering into the heads of the mediocrity in particular, the veneer of reasons that legitimacy is the correct and only way to 'deal' with the demands of homosexuals, and to insist that the norm is abnormal for rejecting out-right, the inverse and stolen, hence perverse, social values adopted by homosexuals. There cannot possibly be a true and genetic succession arising from homosexuality. In and of itself, homosexuals are doomed socially, unless society agrees to allow them legitimacy in adopting children, whereby homosexual values can be drummed into those children's minds as an acceptable however alternate form of the norm, life-style. In this way, they gain a continuity of themselves and of the problem inherent to homosexuality. The veneer of homosexuality being a nice, normal but just 'another' choice in life-styles, is seen from the presentation of the beautiful rainbow as its symbol and in the widely used word, 'gay' as a substitute for the harshness of one with an affinity for homo-sex. Such self-serving symbols are deceitful. There is no universal beauty in such a life-style, except unto themselves. Their need to influence the mediocrity and their insistence that their sexual preferences are correct, good and should be acceptable, does not make it so! Undermining the millennia old institution of marriage, G-d's LAWS, and what is the norm are strivings toward achieving a social comfort which is self-serving, yet destructive to the greater and universal social norm. Yes they may argue that dogs and even penguins display homosexual behavior, but I think that there is no detriment to the society of dogs or of penguins. I am not asking homosexuals to live among penguins or dogs, but, and my view may be incorrect, if such people became homosexuals because of having been molested as children, then at least that segment of homosexuals is 'afflicted', and that segment may be treatable toward the objective of achieving the norm, so as to become genetically successful with children of their own, if this is in fact a desired individual goal. I do not offer a solution for homosexuality as a whole, and clearly many homosexuals do not believe that a solution is desirable. I can merely state that it is a threat to the greater, universal society, as I stated above, and may serve to allow those who seek acceptance eventually for other sexual deviations of the norm, such as for example, bestiality. After all, if the norm is undermined and shifted radically, then where does it end?
14. 13
Sal ,   Tel Aviv   (08.02.13)
You write like a real facist. Who cares that Gays live the lifestyle they do. Yes they are people and as annoying, scarey and outrageous or just completely normal and identifiable that they might be, no-one has the right to deprive them of the right to marry or openly express themselves in every aspect of their lives. Gay sex is no different to hetero it's touching, feeling and sensitive and thrilling! Good luck to gay people! I wish I was brave enough to try gay sex just to experience it one time. The truth is that children born to gay parents will grow up no differently to anyone else maybe better because they at last wont b homophobes like some people. Thank GOD for gays! I salute you all.
15. NO group should be permitted to flaunt sexual orientation!
R ,   Israel   (08.02.13)
Why in the world it is necessary to have a PARADE because of one's sexual preference is beyond me. Sex should be kept in a MODEST place! Because if these people are really legit., there should be no need to flaunt it!
16. David , 12 . The Vatican is NOT Israel's capital
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.02.13)
Their parade is to ask for their rights , not against others .
17. Robert , 13 . You said it by yourself
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.02.13)
You're a "narrow minded" person , who has the right to express himself . But by writing it , you ridiculised yourself . Let me tell you that you must not be a "leftist liberal" to agree that those people have RIGHTS too . They need the right to adopt children , who are then desired 100 % . They need the same rights as hetero couples in any field . They were oppressed in nazi germany , are condemned in religious totalitarian countries . Today more and more democratic countries give them the possibility to get married , that a basicall Human right
18. Thousands for Gay Pride. MILLIONS for Judea/Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.02.13)
If thousands of Israelis march for gay price; we should have MILLIONS march to surround the Knesset for patriotic love of Israel, Judea, Samaria and the total end of Fictional Palestine forever.
19. in Jerusalem?!
db   (08.02.13)
A desecration of immense proportions. The arabs will own us. 4 generations from 1948 and they r pissing away the country. We wont deserve the right to sovereignty.
20. David and the Vatican comment
Daniel ,   TLV   (08.02.13)
David While I respect your opinion that Jerusalem and the Vatican are similar. In fact they are quite different. Jerusalem is also the political capital of Israel. A nation that while a homeland for Jews is not supposed to be a theocracy. The Vatican is ONLY a theocratic country and not a part of Italy. In fact there is a gay pride parade in Rome. So if you want a democratic Israel you must allow gay parades in the capital. It is not as though they have paraded to the Kotel Al Asqa or the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. They parade in secular streets to the Knesset. I honestly believe you can't have it both ways. Either the capital is Jerusalem and we accept political marches there or it is some other city. Where would you have the capital of the Jewish State be? And if you would choose Jerusalem, why would you choose to discriminate against a group who are only demanding equal protection under the law?
21. I will also make a parade, coming along?
Ralph Haglund ,   Sweden   (08.03.13)
For everyone who is proud to have lived through 50 years of diabetes. Sickness as sickness. But maybe I am not proud of it, just reasonably satisfied. Why proud?
22. #21 Ralph Haglund of Sweden:
Daniel ,   TLV   (08.03.13)
Are you so rude that you equate being gay with being ill? Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I will assume you mean that you had no choice in having diabetes just as gay people have no choice as to the gender which attracts them. In which case yes you should have and hold such a parade if you feel people with diabetes are routinely discriminated against by fellow citizens, employers and in obtaining housing. If you feel that people with diabetes are not protected by the law. If you feel that in adopting children they are forbidden...by all means hold a political parade just as the gays around the world hold their Pride Parades. It is a Pride Parade because gays are routinely expected to be shamed and treated as less than human. It is a Pride Parade to remind everyone including gay people there is no reason to feel shame for being gay. To remind gay people that the right to be treated as equals is a right for all people
23. Another use of the 'h' word.....
Bikerwolf ,   London U.K.   (08.04.13)
And to you Ralf Haglund of Sweden #21.... The Christian Church celebrates Mardi Gras, a Christian religious festival whereby costumes and half- naked people celebrate their commitment to a pagan/Christian period of fasting by overindulgence, alcohol and sexual explicitness on the streets with women and children in tow. Your point about gay 'parades' is then?
24. #5 Pinkwashing
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (08.05.13)
Gays are human beings and we know here in Israel what Islamic countries do to gays. We don't pinkwash we just tell the truth. And just for the record Israel does not occupy Palestine its the Palestinians who want to occupy Israel.
