31. Alexander...you're great!
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.06.13)
Just for the record...latest survey here ascertained 30% of Poles harbour anti-Semitic tendencies.
32. #26 Konrad, Please do not generalize in haste.
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.06.13)
Both Mr. Alexander in Tel Aviv and Mr. Immanuelson in the US are in the process of healing. The process is long and painful for both of them. Actually, they are both still victims of World War Two because they don't know how to forgive, how to love, how to coexist. I hope you will not match them in your anger. I have spent many recent years working with Polish engineering professionals and saw no signs of anti-Semitism. Many of us -- like me ex-Polish, thereafter Israelis and Americans -- have through life experiences shed negative load of the past which were laden with horrors. Really, we are looking forward with optimism to a brighter future. I hope you and Mr. Split are with us because you can bring yourselves to be above hating.

"Please don't play the Deir Yassin card..." I am not a card player. I just don't care for idiotically sweeping generalizations. "...it pales in comparison with the above". I have dificulty here. I don't seem to understand the concept of "paling", especially "in comparison".

"I hope you will not match them in your anger." ? Anger - on my side? Nothing of the sort. I just wonder at the intensity of pure hatred exhibited here, quite freely, whenever the name of my country is mentioned. Anyway, thank you Michael for your thoughtful comments.
35. #31 Mark, Glad to hear the survey results.
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.06.13)
Thirty percent is an acceptably low number. High enough, to be sure, for a heuristic concern, but we can work on lowering it through being positive. The Polish government certainly seems positive in its deeds. To me, curbing some of the unreasonable Orthodox Jewish requirements does not represent anti-Semitism. You wouldn't be teaching in Lodz if the 30 percent bothered you, would you?
36. Konrad ,
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.06.13)
The Deir Yassin tragedy you mentioned happened during a war , where Jews and arabs fought each other , were arabs murdered Jewish people who had not even attacked them [ a convoy of doctors and nurses on their way to the Univ hospital as an example ] . The Jews murdered by poles in Jebdanje [ sorry for error in the name ] or Kielce had never attacked any pole , nor murdered quantities of them . They were murdered because they were Jews , only for this . That's the big difference between those facts , no comparison possible .
37. Gravestones
Ben Avraham Avinu ,   Orlando   (08.07.13)
Is no one offended that he is using Jewish gravestones as an altar in his church?

"The Deir Yassin tragedy ..." A good example of semantic juggling: the massacre, after a bit of sanitizing, becomes "tragedy". No need to reflect on the propensity for violence as a universally human trait. No need, not anymore.
39. Konrad - get yourself a life. And stick to the subject
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.07.13)
What has Deir Yassin and your interest in defining Jewish identity/ethnicity to do with Polish anti-Semitism and Jewish-Polish relations? Are you saying that Poles have discriminated and massacred Jews for centuries because they "knew" that 1000 years later, Israelis would "massacre" Arabs in Deir Yassin? Catholic Poles sympathize with Moslem Arabs? Give me a break... Poles and Arabs are guilty of dozens if not hundreds of "Deir Yassins" against the Jewish people for centuries. For your information, it is an outright lie that the majority population of Deir Yassin consisted of innocent unarmed civilians. An outright lie and distortion of facts. Jews of Jedwabne and Kielce were unarmed innocent civilians butchered by primitive Jew haters such as yourself and you express no remorse - which makes you an anti-Semite. The Arabs of Deir Yassin were armed to their teeth. Ferocious fighting took place between Jewish Irgun and Arab terrorists. Many Arab terrorists were dressed up as women. Jewish Irgun evacuated many Arabs from Deir Yassin to Jerusalem and you usually don't evacuate a population you intend to massacre. The Arabs of Deir Yassin were recent invading foreigners undermining Israel's existence. Jews of Kielce and Jedwabne were unarmed innocent civilians that posed no threat to Poland. The Jews of Kielce and Jedwabne were butchered because of their Jewish ethnicity. So I agree with Charles: there is no comparison, and your interest in Israel is FAR BEYOND Jewish-Polish relations. You just prove again, like always, that it is Israel and the Jewish people that you hate. Obviously Deir Yassin has NOTHING to do with Poland. The reason you bring up this subject is again - in accordance with collective Polish behavior, to change the subject, blame the Jews, make the Jews collectively look like the "bad guys", deny Polish crimes and blame them on the Jews and if you can't hide the Polish crimes - change the subject and make Jews "look bad" and thus giving legitimacy to hatred of Jews - based on lies and false accusations against Jews. Since you yourself are a racist genocidal ideologist and you express no shame, no regret and no remorse of Polish crimes against Jews, it takes no genius to understand that you are a Jew hater. What is strtiking is that you are "surprised" that Poland is deeply disliked in Israel yet you are not surprised that Jews are deeply disliked in Poland - despite no Jewish crimes against the Polish people. As our King Solomon once said: "Nothing new under the sun".
40. Konrad
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.07.13)
A massacre is a tragedy too . But don't compare deir Yassin to the MURDER of Jews , who didn't attack Poles , who didn't murder poles, by your countrymen , during and AFTER the war . When you can't refute facts , you react on the words i used . Shows something .....

"..., you react on the words i used . Shows something". Agreed, it shows something. The ability to see what you attempt to hide - retreating behind a verbal screen.

Matthew VII, 1-2: 1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. Yes, nihil novi sub sole. Ecclesiastes I, 9: "...and there is no new thing under the sun". A good subject for a bit of quiet meditation. According to some it helps liberating people from compulsive logorrhea.
43. #35 Michael...I'm secular..so no beanie
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.07.13)
...hard-core Zionist, mind.
44. 41 TRY # 3
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.07.13)
When you can't say ANYTHING serious , you react on the words i used . Shows your poor ability to give some serious responses . And citing your christian sayings to a Jew , is of the same LOW level . Poor Konrad ....But nothing about the poles who murdered INNOCENT unarmed Jews . You are a reason why there are Jews who dislike your country , you may be proud of this .
45. #43, Good for you!

"Anger - on my side? Nothing of the sort." Of course not. Your talkbacks reveal pure altruistic Christian loving kindness for all human beings and complete honesty in your heart. Jesus Christ would be so proud of how you treat his fellow Jews. "I just wonder at the intensity of pure hatred exhibited here," What is a Polack doing in here Konrad? This an ISRAELI newspaper. If you don't like it - stay out. "whenever the name of my country is mentioned." 1) Read the article again. This hatred represents your country. 2) Jedwabne 3) Kielce 4) 90% of Polish Jews were killed in the Holocaust 5) many Poles cooperated with the Nazis against the Jews 6) Poles still Harbor anti-Semitic feelings 7) you haven't compensated Jews for stolen property 8) you haven't apologized to the Jewish people 9) you express no remorse. 10) you avoid the subject. You don't understand why Poland is hated? Could it be because of how you have treated and still treat the Jews? Why do you Poles hate Jews so much?
47. God-delusional insanity
L.R. ,   NY   (08.14.13)
If Lemansky had learned true history, he would know that the Holy See hasn't changed in 2013 years. How the Rabbi, the Priest and the imam can sit next to each other and smile, is the greatest hypocrisy on earth. The Rabbinate was the weakest link pre-WWII when the world knew what was going on. The Rabbinate, again, stands witness of unchanged Vatican strategy. How much evidence does a mule need to hit the same stone? Religions are man-made misery to divide people while a corrupt priesthood thrives on the back of poverty, ignorance and the exploitation of human emotions; how low can low be? Hiding incompetence behind god-delusional insanity?
48. Dismissal of priest in Poland
H. Bart Vincelette ,   Vancouver, Canada   (08.28.13)
'Holy Mother Church' is not by any means, homogenous throughout the world. In Poland, for example, the church will speak generically in opposition to anti-Semitism, & violence directed at anyone based on sexual orientation , race, or religion. But when incidents do happen (& they do frequently) there's never a protest from Polish hierarchy.
