We're talking about the armistice lines of 1949 -- where the two sides' armies stood when the fighting stopped in a war, BTW, that was instigated by the very Arabs who could have had a state of their own from May, 1948. The armistice deliberately included language stating that those lines were not intended to prejudice the creation of borders to be determined by talks between the signs. (You can look up all of this stuff if you don't believe me.) The talks never occurred. Decisions about where to draw borders are to be made by Israelis and Arabs, not by us in the USA, so I'm not arguing for or against any particular agreement. But getting people to understand correctly requires framing the matter factually. Yes, even a single word matters.
