I am a microbiologist, let me try to explain. The FDA, and other such agencies around the globe, approve medicines and vaccines only for use in the US, or their respective nations. The fact that something from another nation has not been cleared by them, in no way means that it might be dangerous. It just means that it hasn't been tested by them. The live virus vaccine sounds scary, but it is actually an attenuated virus (one unable to do harm to a healthy, non-immuno compromised individual) It works better than the inactivated virus because it spreads to other people, thus "vaccinating" the surrounding population. Vaccination is a numbers game, the more people that are vaccinated the least likely an outbreak will occur. It is about protecting the community as a whole, not just about individuals.
