speak like a coward. Let them attack, the chance for Israel to annihilate them once and for all. We have no time for this crap. We need to move on in technology and the future.
2. America Betrays Democracy
Rudy Haugeneder ,   Victoria, BC, Canada   (08.14.13)
American military hardware again in action against people who elected a democratic government that was overthrown by a US-supported and trained military. Clinton, Bush, Obama -- all anti-democratic bad guys who target for destruction elected governments in Palestine to Central and South America to Egypt. Gives the worlds Ugly American significance when it refers to American presidents. The words should also apply in the United States where presidents want the NSA and other domestic police and intelligence agencies to spy on Americans and destroy them if their thoughts wander from what they are told to think. Are you listening? Dare you talk or write now that you know the facts? Speak up!

tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.15.13)
there is no democracy in the arab world, and to pretend that hamas or fatah or the moslem brotherhood give a flying fig for your "democracy" just shows your gullibility and ignorance. democracy, rule by men, is not compatible with the rule of allah, and is something for true moslems to overcome, not support. your misguided left-wing drivel is just SO offbase...
5. Street battles in Cairo
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (08.15.13)
1. Ron Ben Ishai is past his sell by date. Boring and dull 2. Islam and democracy are mutually exclusive. Sisi did the expected to safeguard Egypt 3, Obama playing anarchistic divisive games . That is the only consistency to be found in his policy
6. to 4
suha ,   jerusalem   (08.15.13)
yes you are right -democracy is not god order -it is not in islam it is from the start when god told moses and ahron to go to farroah and his army who were the wrong and moses was the right .. it is about right and wrong if all th people are wrong i must not accept them as right it is the god rule --- alas that the brotherhood hold the democracy as their right not that their right is the right
7. #2 Rudy - Do you know what democracy is?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.15.13)
You ignorant comment proves that you do not understand the concept. Democracy is not having an election then allowing the winner to impose whatever they want on the population. That is the impression that you give of your understanding of the definition. The Arabs have a saying, 1 person, 1 vote, 1 time - just like Germany in the 1930s. Democracy is a far more complex and delicate organization where the rights of the minorities are protected. Sharia does not allow for that and that is what Mursi attempted to impose.
8. Yes, Obama ambivalence...
Raoul ,   Herzliya Israel   (08.17.13)
and the non-Moslem Brotherhood electorate realization that many of them voted wrongly for Morsi are largely what this mess is all about.
9. Egypt
Etienne Prinsloo ,   Nova Scotia Canada   (08.17.13)
The liberals in the white house and in the EU will only rest once a hardline Brotherhood government rules Egypt again. After all Hussain O sang the Brotherhood's praises long before they took power. Instead of good governance they occupied themselves with religious zealotry. What Egypt needs is a responsible government that will improve the life of the man in the street. Syria has gone back decades in time in terms of the economy and infrastructure. Egypt is fast heading in that very direction. The West pushes democracy as long as it fits in with their liberal agendas and preconceived outcomes. Whether the man in the street benefits is of no consequence. What does the world want in Egypt, another protracted civil war? What Egypt needs now is constructive and supportive involvement. Sadly America has squandered the last bit of goodwill they had left in Egypt. After Benghazi and Syria this comes as no surprise.
10. LOL @ Rudy
Koose E Mack ,   NY US Caliphate   (08.18.13)
Rudy...this rhetoric has been used for many years...It's so old I remember it from my college days. Oh yes, conspiracies exist and the US has made some bad choices...but we are still the beacon of hope for les miserables around the world. Incidentally, Morsi's Brotherhood was not Democratically Elected and neither was Hamas in Palestinian Gaza. Since you love your conspiracy theories, why not ask some anti Morsi Egyptians how the last elections were run? Oh Rudy, I hear that in BC the women are either Hockey Players or Hookers. I hear your mom is not a Hockey Player!
