31. re# 29 Brett ..and Israel has lived up to theirs???
Cali Cal ,   Los Angeles   (08.21.13)
According to the Oslo Accords this whole mess was supposed to be solved by 1995. Almost 20 years later and we are still dealing with this nonsense. You obviously prefer more bloodshed between the two groups while you lay in South Beach being rubbed down by Flavio.
32. Something big is coming for 2014-2015 for the Jews.
Rivkah   (08.21.13)
In the years 1492, 1948, 1967, and 2014-2015, there were four blood moons on Jewish Holy Days. 1492 was the year Christopher Columbus who was secretly Jewish discovered North America, a refuge for the Jews and for Christians suffering persecutions (Pilgrims, etc.). 1948 was the year Israel became a State, another refuge for the Jews suffering persecutions. 1967 was the year the Jews re-took Jerusalem to look forward to the Third Temple and Jerusalem as the new as well as the ancient capital of Israel. What will 2014 to 2015 bring? It will probably be a war and expanded territories for Israel. It is a banner time for the Jews when there are four blood moons in a year on Jewish Holy Days. Pastor John Hagee has written a book about the Four Blood Moons that is about to be released for purchase. It will be interesting to see what he has to say about this.
33. Re: #27 Calic
Dan Calic   (08.21.13)
You said- "If you had, you would know that in the last peace talks held between Olmert and Abbas, the Palestinians compromised on everything." Really? Olmert made Abbas an incredibly generous offer toward the end of his term. He offered virtually 100% of the heartland and a divided Jerusalem. Abbas never responded to it. As far as land, the Palestinians were conceding all the settlements that straddle the green line and all of the settlement's built around East Jerusalem. Abbas refused Ariel outright, that is one settlement block. As far as refugees, out of that 5-6 million you throw out there to scare people, the Palestinians ever since Camp David 2, have resigned themselves to the fact that no more than 100,000 to 200,000 total refugees over a 10 year period will be allowed back into Israel under the provision of family reunification. What proof of this do you have? Oh and I think it's more than fair that 400,000 Jews have to move, 1 million Palestinians moved in 1947. Those 1 million you speak of "moved' because they were promised the spoils of a destroyed Israel. They expected to collect war booty. However you fail to mention what happened to over 800,000 Jews that were living in Arab countries for centuries. They were all ethnically cleansed simply because Israel was about to become a nation, which by the way they had no role in bringing about, yet they were persecuted simply because they were Jews. As far as Jerusalem, even Israeli's have come to the conclusion that East Jerusalem will be the capitol of Palestine, with the only the Holy Basin internationalized. The issue is unclear and up for debate.
34. Re: #26 CAB
Dan Calic   (08.21.13)
You said- "My impression is that many Israelis have constructed their own version of reality. The narrative-adjusting over a period of 60 years has done a good job. "It would if your desire is to see Israel lose control of its holiest city" - really, most of the world knows this is a pure delusion. It was never your city, nor will it ever be, even if you continue demolishing houses, making life hell for Palestinans and throwing them out. Evil begets evil and it all comes round. " The amount of truth in your comment about Jerusalem is equal to how much oxygen there is in space- absolutely none. There is enough documented proof confirming how long ago Jerusalem was a Jewish city to fill a line of dump trucks stretching from San Francisco to Tokyo and back. Pity your blind hatred prevents you from accepting reality.
35. Out of curiosity ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.21.13)
.... How many wars must the ersatz "Palestinians" start and lose before they realize that they are launching themselves into oblivion? They totally missed the boat in 1947. History only occasionally repeats itself. Also true is that you never get a second chance to make a first impression. The ersatz "Palestinians" have missed the boat on quite a few occasions. They are not interested in sharing. They do not care that they have no historical right to a single centimeter of the State of Israel -- what with coming from the Hejaz in the Western Arabian desert -- as nomads and forced deportees. Israel, on the other hand, can claim historical right -- backed up with archaeological evidence -- to the land. I realize that all manner of people throughout the world are jumping upon the chance to prove their hatred of Jews -- but, really? Do you care to embark upon a plan to dismantle the United States, and restore it -- in parts -- to the native Americans that inhabited it before the European invasion? Think that one through. If you wish to dismantle a huge number of countries, well -- vote with your feet. The only country that will remain untouched is Israel. It has been restored to its rightful inhabitants. Go ahead -- prove me wrong. Produce a Canaanite or two, and I might listen. Otherwise -- good luck hunting. Heckuva lot easier proving rightful inhabitation in ... oh ... Europe. The United States. Canada. Australia. New Zealand. Latin America. Central America. Push your argument. See where it gets you.
36. Reason with God
God'sway   (08.21.13)
Truth is Israel can't go back to egypt as God took the forefathers out and any opposition to settled where God wants them will lead to chaos in egypt and arab world so expect more arab spring with these peace talks.
37. Whether the Palestinians compromise or not is up to them
Shachar ,   Eilat   (08.21.13)
No compromise, no deal, simple as that. Negotiations are like a card game and the Palestinians have a bad hand. Like anyone with a bad hand they are trying to bluff their way to a better deal. Right of return is a bluff, Jerusalem is a bluff...in the end they will cave in or lose everything.
38. Re 32 Rebecca & Hagee: Dt. 13.1-6
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   netzarim.co.il   (08.21.13)
Believers in the Christian New Testament and Jesus -- by whatever name -- are false prophets EVEN IF IT COMES TRUE! Calling Jesus "Rabi Yeshua" (or Ribi Yehoshua) doesn't change Jesus from the Hellenist Roman man-god idol of the New Testament to the historical Torah Jew.
39. #37. Like WW II Allies "talking peace" with Nazis.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.21.13)
Israel should not be engaged in sick phony "peace talks" with the P.A. in the first place. The P.A. are mortal enemies like the Nazis. They need to be dealt with exactly as the WW II Allies dealt with the Nazis.
40. #30. One of the dumbest arguments ever.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.21.13)
#30. Cali, you appear to be saying that because someone may attack me for waving an Israeli flag means Palestine exists...You certainly win a prize for one of the dumbest arguments ever on Ynet. Terrorists exist. Palestine does not exist in Judea and Samaria and never will. The two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
41. #40 Chaim, the world disagrees with you
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (08.23.13)
The Palestinian people and the State of Palestine have been overwhelmingly recognized as a non-member state by the rest of the world. Only the U.S.'s security council veto power prevents Palestine from becoming a full member of the U.N. Israel is negotiating with the Palestinian people about borders and diplomatic recognition. Like it or not, you like me, will just have to wait for the outcome of those negotiations.
42. # 6 Aharon thanks for the clarification
Stan ,   Israel   (08.23.13)
" A Matter of Needs and Wants" I don't know if this is Calic's headline in any case it is stupid and meaningless. We are negotiating to achieve an agreement which both sides feel they can live with.
43. #7 Well said Sammy!
Stan ,   Israel   (08.23.13)
44. # 14 Sorry to contradict you Michael
Stan ,   Israel   (08.23.13)
I don't know on which planet Calic is living, because much of what he writes is simply not true. When he comes down to Earth he will find that the Pals are willing to compromise and allow blocks of settlements where the vast majority of the settlers live. (About 5% of Yosh) They are NOT demanding the return of refugees. ( Personally I believe that not one refugee should be allowed to return) Israel took in all the Jews from the Muslim states. and the Pals can solve their problem as they see fit. Quote "400,000 Jews would have to be relocated" ???? We know that the the vast majority of the Settlers live in the blocks which the Pals will agree to. Quote "Israel lost 85% of land ......promised to it " ??????? The British did not say that Palestine is the Jewish National Home. The Balfour Declaration states that " HM Govt. eyes with favour the establishment of a Jewish National Home In Palestine" It also says that this (Home) should not be detrimental to the existing ethnic groups in Palestine. At that time the Arabs owned the vast majority of the land between the Jordan and the sea. Calic the "fear monger" Quote " If Israel ....give up ....its heartland to people ... calling for its destruction" "enemy committed to Israel's destruction" I would remind Calic that Israel is stronger than all our neighbors combined. Mosquitos are a nuisance, but no more than that . They can cause personal tragedy, but not destroy a country. Bar Kochba took on the might of the Roman Empire and brought destruction and death to a million Jews. Todays equivalent is the threated boycott if Israel does not take these negotiations seriously.
