1. Both the PA and Hamas are illegitimate criminals
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (08.21.13)
but don't expect any further enlightenment from the UN, they only see with one blinked eye. KEEP BUILDING !!!!
2. Muslim-Arab apologists continue to think that mass murdering
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.21.13)
of civilian Jews by Islamic Jihad, Hamas and Fatah is an act of "resistance", or "national liberation", of "heroism". And, sadder yet, some political, educational, community and religious leaders worldwide, including those in position at the UN and its various agency. This is the face of the world in which we live...

bulding is hard, ruuning is quite easy, build baby build....
4. get your facts straight
bill ,   ted   (08.21.13)
Actually, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has a long track record - all publicly available - of criticizing Hamas. This includes press releases, reports to the Human Rights Council and even briefings to the Security Council going back several years.
5. And this will help??? Until the UN stop
benjy   (08.21.13)
kissing Islamic butt, the Hamas and PLO and all these evil entities will do as they please. They will cry "look what nasty Israel isd doing to us" while they slaughter each other and continue THEIR disregard for human life.
6. double stanard
johnns ,   Nanjing China   (08.21.13)
Look, the idea of calling everyone a problem : Obama is too weak, the UN and the EU are anti Semitic, Russia and China have obsolete armaments and could be Nuked by Israel, make people here look like crazy. people. Israel is becoming a joke. The belief that only Israel is wise and understands the ME does not sell. No one is listening. Iran will get the bomb because the The US , the EU, the UN , Russia and China no longer think Israel is important, The time of Israel in the ME is passed, The US is leaving, Look at Syria and Egypt - more important that Israel. You are to expensive, What you should do now is look to your own future, You live among 400,000 Arabs. Get along. You are alone- only Israel lives on its passed glories and this alone could destroy it.
7. #2 Jehudah: Of course you are right!
David ,   The Galilee, Israel   (08.21.13)
The fact is that the Arabs have bought the world. They own ports, shipping lines, airlines, Emirates Stadium, ICC Umpires wear "Fly Emirates" on their white jackets, the 4th Ashes Test was payed at Emirates Durham Cricket Ground, Arsenal Football Team's home is Emirates Stadium Qatar bought the World Cup and London's new Cable Car System is sponsored by Emirates Airlines which demanded that NO Israeli technology was used in the system! As for Navi Pillay, while she is not a Muslim, she is a South African Tamil, hates Jews and Israel, as most Indian, Colored and Black South Africans do. Their excuse is that there were strong ties between Israel and the Apartheid Government. While is is true they have even cut of ties to Ben Gurion University which was helping them to sort out their water problem. Hatred seems to conquer thirst! Indeed, this is the world we live in!
8. The world would be far better off without the U.N.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.21.13)
If you balanced the tiny amount of good the U.N. occasionally does against the enormous amount of evil it often does; the scales would not even be close. The U.N. does FAR more harm than good. On top of it all, many U.N. bureaucrats have delusions of power. They dream of running the world and interfere incessantly in the affairs of sovereign nations especially the U.S. and Israel. The world would be far better off without the U.N.
9. How many people have died because of this evil fire her!
Dina ,   USA   (08.21.13)
10. "Something appears to be very rotten in the UN"
Carl ,   USA   (08.21.13)
Well that's certainly the understatement of the day!! Obviously this group only considers it a war crime when perpetrated against fellow Muslims. Killing Jews who are guilty of no crime without even their minimal show trial is perfectly fine to the UN. But Ban Moon has now conclusively established that there is no double standard in how his organization treats Israel - it is a model of fairness and impartiality! LOL!!!
11. #6 Seems you are quite confused
Tahl   (08.21.13)
Clearly you know nothing about the Middle East. It is not Israel that you need to tell to "get along" with its neighbors, but the other way around. Israel tries to make peace with all its neighbors - but it is Israel's neighbors which do not recognize Israel and constantly try and destroy it. It is like saying to a sparrow to get along with the snakes that are attacking its nest.
12. Ben-Gurian
Aisha2 ,   Memphis, USA   (08.21.13)
Where are leaders like Ben-Gurian today? He is what Israel needs. He is what the world needs.
13. hamas' greatest violation of human rights
bobk ,   Orlando US   (08.21.13)
is their targeting of Israeli civilians with suicide bombs, drive-by shootings and since 2001 the firing of over 20,000 rockets and mortars into Israeli cities, towns and villages which UN Sec - Gen Ban condemned as 'war crimes and crimes against humanity' This HR spokeswoman Pilay should emulate Ban in this regard.;.

15. double standart comissioner

16. johnns # 6- What ? ?
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (08.21.13)
You say the US , EU, Russia, and China do not think Israel is important. Look at the trade between Israel and them. Trade has grown non-stop with each and every country / group from 2000 till today. Before you shoot off your mouth you should use your brain and check out the FACTS.
17. # 4 And your point is?
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (08.22.13)
The UN has absolutely no power...
18. #16
Ilan ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.22.13)
i think #6 meant politically. trade is business, not political! business is about opportunity! of course trade is up, why wouldn't it be? people in those countries don't like making money? you should take your own advise about that brain thing!
19. The only reason Pillay mentions this now...
William ,   Israel   (08.22.13)
is that Hamas' crimes are so overwhelming the UNHRC cannot continue to ignore them without scrutiny by the global community about their inherent bias against Israel.... so they chose a benign issue to call Hamas out on to give the appearance of a "balanced body", Though Pillay was absent when Hamas STOLE a fleet of UN ambulances and admitted to it publicly despite UNWRA's Gunness' rush to claim otherwise.
20. #4 - get YOUR facts straight
William ,   Israel   (08.22.13)
Those criticism of Hamas by UNHRC are few and far between. Despite the continued Hamas crimes, UNHRC didn't utter a word prior to 2010 when criticism grew against Navi Pillay and her crew for being biased against Israel. At the same time, ICRC and Amnesty Intl also issued their own criticisms of Hamas, a bit more than UNHRC did. Very telling is how her office ignored MANY crimes which violated Intl Law. That's very telling since their focus was solely on Israel to a ratio of 25-to-1.
21. #6
Beer ,   Germany   (08.23.13)
"You live among 400,000 Arabs" you say? Should I expose more of your stupidity? If Israel is not important, stop spending your time on israeli newspapers.
22. besides being ugly, do you know how much we pay
