7. Parents Israeli
A Shvitzer ,   Israel   (08.22.13)
It looks as though some of these Olim have parents one or both who are Yordim. So its good their children come back to serve in IDF. Whether they will stay in Israel after the army is another question.
8. to #3 lol Snowden the amerikan spy, he is chritian

9. I came to build and to be built
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat   (08.22.13)
I came to live and build our land. Serving in the IDF was one of my obligations. I have a hard time understanding why someone would come just for the purpose of serving in the army. Why should someone be ready to die for something that they don't live for?
10. @2 and your ilk want to find the B'L office for
Al   (08.22.13)
their next welfare cheque. Move on schnorrer boy we all know who you pine for. Its kids like these who are ready to sacrifice all that keep your chevra schnorrers safe at night from an enemy that kills its own. You don't fool me in the least. I grew up with your ilk. They still send schnorrer letters to my late dad who has been dead for 7 years. That's all they are all about ..schnorreshe shtick nothing more nothing less.
11. serving in the IDF
golani ,   Vineland, USA,Israel   (08.22.13)
I am a proud American and chose to be one Israeli. I served way back in the IDF in an active combat unit proudly and never felt an internal conflict or issues with loyalty. I would do it again and again. Today I work for the interests of both nations in combating terrorism. Lol ha kavod to these proud and motivates American Israelis.

With all due respect, if i am to die in battle, i rather die defending my fellow Jews than defending Muslims that hate me!!!
15. #3 You don't know history
David ,   Los Angeles, USA   (08.22.13)
Americans went to Spain to fight against fascism in 1939 and they went to Britain and volunteered to fight against the nazis before the US declared war against Germany. Israel is the only ally in the Middle East the US can really trust. Maybe you should go to Iraq or Afghanistan and risk your life for Haliburton, the defense contractors or the oil companies. Someone as patriotic as you should have gone to Vietnam, now there was a good cause. Or maybe the first Gulf War for the Oil Companies, my all American patriotic friend.
16. Glad They're ...
Christy ,   Boston, US   (08.22.13)
going to serve in the armed forces of America's best ally in that area! It's good for the US & Israel, both, to have these young people serve there.
17. Some older Olim would sign up as well
Daniel Premack ,   Tel Aviv   (08.22.13)
While it is true that war is a younger man's game, many older Olim including myself would be happy to volunteer to be a part of the IDF. We too made Aliyah for love of Israel and would like to play a part in serving our nation. Many if us have degrees and experience that may not be good for the front lines but very effective elsewhere such as laboratories medical units offices law and many other areas. It is understandable that people in their forties and above may not want to be conscripted. However the IDF should find a place for these valuable assets they ignore due to ageism

Whose welfare cheque am I collecting? I do have my own money and I pay taxes so who am I schnorring off genius and who do I pine for? I also did 2 years in the IDF was not anything quite as glamorous as Syeret Matkal or paratroopers but I did my bit. Come on genius why don't you tell me all about myself? Here are a few tit bits to get you started. Male, born in the UK, moved to Israel in 2001 and right now dating a great girl named Yael. so why don't you take it from here and fill in the blanks.

aren't they wonderful youth? i admire them. rather than doing drugs and drinking to death as your kids do, these youngsters do something useful with their lives. they love america but they also love israel and being jewish feel they are connected to both countries. each one has a choice in life to volunteer. would you say that jews going to volunteer in africa to build hospitals, to build infirmaries and help with the agricultural needs of the third world population is a statement of them not being loyal to the usa? no! yes, they could stay here in the usa and help those needy. but they choose freely to go and help others around the world. this is their choice. same with military volunteers. it's a choice that has nothing to with one's patriotism or with the accusation of disloyalty or stabbing the usa in the back. and much to your disappointment, all these beautiful jews will come back home to the usa after a very emotional experience. take that to the bank! polski
20. They should fit in
Bob Cassidy   (08.22.13)
They look very jewish.....
21. #19, Seconding your message and hope some of them will stay.
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.22.13)
An additional benefit from this aliya is the positive outlook on life and happiness those olim bring with them from the U.S. and Canada. No depression and sadness from many years of living under a protracted conflict, no hatred of the world after being brainwashed that the world is "anti-Semitic." This inflow of positive attitude is very healthy to Israel and I hope more of it can happen..
22. Zionist forever..I got your goat,,,good
Al   (08.22.13)
It takes awhile to get a rise out of a Brit. Good to know that 'kick ass' attitude has finally kicked the 'limey' to the wayside. I wish you well kid!
23. #20 Bob Cassidy--A Bit Bigoted
Daniel ,   Washington, DC   (08.22.13)
To say someone looks Jewish is a rather bigoted statement. Jews come from all over the world and look different. What you can say is they resemble other Ashkenazim. But to be honest Ashkenazim look nothing like Yemenite Jews, Ethiopian Jews, Italian Jews Chinese Jews or Jews from a myriad of other countries. As a Mizrachi Jew living in DC I think you are at the very least uneducated and distasteful in your comment. Learn something about a culture before making such statements or perhaps just refrain from saying anything at all.
24. Looking Jewish #20
Harold F ,   Signal Hill USA   (08.23.13)
Get some photos of Mila Kunis and Bar Refaeli. Study them thoroughly and tell us all how very Jewish they look.
