1. Indeed, the Mideast needs peace, in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon,
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.24.13)
Yemen, Iraq, Libya and beyond. The Arab Israeli conflict will be resolved, if it is, when the Arabs: 1. Accept Israel's RIGHT to be, to exist as the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people 2. Accept a peace treaty as the END OF THE CONFLICT 3. Accept a peace treaty as the END OF ALL FUTURE DEMANDS To date, the Arabs - Muslim-Arabs to be precise, object, categorically, to Israel's RIGHT to exist on ANY parcel of land of the Jewish people's ancestral homeland, as the SOVEREIGN NATION-STATE OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE. This objection is expressed despite the fact that this RIGHT is grounded in the Jewish people's historic/natural, ethical and legal right to do so.
2. Fabius is just an ordinary Antisemite...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (08.24.13)
He loves his Muzzies...
3. Fabius is the French Kerry...I HATE both !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (08.24.13)
4. NOTHING worse than "successful" talks with P.A.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.24.13)
"Successful" talks with the P.A. means thousands of more Israelis maimed and murdered. It means Israel being reduced to an absolutely defenseless 9 mile wide concentration camp. NOTHING would be worse than "successful" talks with the P.A.
5. Another idiot
Mira ,   Vienna   (08.24.13)
who claims that the instability of the ME is due to Israel!
6.  French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius
Ibrahim el Awal ,   Dearborn, Michigan   (08.24.13)
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius gave another flatus. He is so ignorant that I want to cry.
7. Ynet's reporting is pro-Palestian
Vladimir ,   Yerushalayim   (08.24.13)
It seems that Ynet is an Arabic site. All quotes are those of the Palestian officials. This report creates a biased image and distorts the real picture, as if the Palestians wants peace and the Israelis sabotage it.
8. AU CONTRAIRE MON CHERI
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED CYNIC HOUSE   (08.24.13)
I pray for devastating war .la guerre ,in which all enemies of Israel and enemies of the jews will forever perish .
9. France: Mideast needs peace deal 'more than ever'
Rodney ,   C.T. SA.   (08.24.13)
What utter rubbish.
10. "France the Occupier"
Peter ,   Toronto   (08.24.13)
France occupies and has illegally settled part of the Basque Homeland. The Basque are a real people & the oldest in Europe. There has never been a state of "palestine", their is no state of "palestine" and there is no such thing as "palestinians", what does exist is islamo-progresives and islamists wanting to push the Jews into the sea.
11. Trying to please 12m Muslims squatting France...
Andy ,   Manchester, UK   (08.24.13)
well, who votes for the socialist party, apart from civil servants, the unemployed...and the 12m Muslims mostly on benefits ?... "Palestine" is irrelevant to the world problem which is Islam. Poor France, living through its 2nd occupation in less than a century...
12. Fabius: tell that to the Syrians, the Egyptians, the Turks,
EST ,   Miami USA   (08.25.13)
to Hezbollah, to Hamas, to the P.A., to the Lebanese, etc., etc. etc. Yes, the Middle East needs peace ... go after those who refuse to have peace in the region and only then come back and talk to Israel...
13. FM Fab, give those Arab-majrty neibrhoods in Paris AUTONOMY
(08.25.13)
14. #2 No he is not ordinary, unfortunately..
deavman ,   Acco, Israel   (08.25.13)
Both his parents were Jews who converted, thus placing him in a very uncomfortable position where he probably has to prove how not Jewish he really is.
15. Fatah's goal is the obliteration of Israel.
Zvi   (08.25.13)
Abbas has never been serious about peace, only about continuing to support terror while duping the west into thinking that he is pursuing peace.
16. talks
john ,   toronto   (08.25.13)
Sometimes less talks accomplishes a lot. They have been talking a lot without anything to show for it.
17. Jewish lands built by kings. Arabs are tenants treated super
Adi ,   Zurich   (08.25.13)
Jewish lands built by kings. Arabs are tenants treated superbly. The tenant wants to demand ownership. Its a lie repeated over n over but its origin does not change. Its a lie
18. #1
FRED ,   USA   (08.25.13)
So since the Celts use to own and occupy France they can come back and reclaim that country? The Celts were there over 2000 years ago and still have a presense in Brittany. Your logic escapes me but then religeous people seem to twist the truth to meet their agenda.
19. Pals need West because Arab armies killing each other
Sam ,   Canada   (08.25.13)
Palestinians are sucking up to the West because they need it to boycott and sanction Israel to death. They would prefer the Arab countries just go to war with Israel but the Arabs are busy killing each other. So, Palestinians will make a show of talking to please Europe and then wait for the terror fearful EU to order Israel around.
20. Tooth Fairy
Ron ,   oc us   (08.25.13)
It depends where the Pals marry. If they turn east towards Jordan and the Gaza strip turns towards Egypt there may be a shot at peace. No refugees on Jewish soil, demilitarized state, a small division of Jerusalem and Israel recognized as a Jewish state and I might be inclined towards an agreement. Most settlements stay and become a recognized part of Israel. Anything else is just another war in the making.
21. Peace in one house doesn't save the neighborhood
R ,   Israel   (08.25.13)
I hate to be cynical, but do not believe that peace between the parties in this tiny strip of land would stop the civil war raging in Syria, the chaos in Egypt and Iraq, and the multitude of conflicts playing out in the region within and between the Muslim countries. They have nothing to do with us and manage to not get along just fine without us.
22. the french need to get their heads examined
zionist forever   (08.25.13)
We have Assad using chemical weapons and a civil war going on in Syria thats left 100,000 dead. Egypt is on the verge of civil war after a military coup. Iran is getting closer to a nuke everyday Hezbollah have been once again firing rockets int Israel from Lebanon increasing the tensions in the north which may eventually result in another war in Lebanon. France though they think the most important issue in the whole region is the palestinian one. Rather than worry about arabs massacring each other the idiot French are worried about settlements.
23. Fabius the inciter
CJK   (08.25.13)
since everything is the fault of the jews, the jews are disposable.
24. throw the jews under the bus....
meyer ,   israel   (08.25.13)
and we'll have real peace. didn't the french do that in ww2. did it work then? ah the french.. such lovers of jews.
25. 2 Chriss
CJK   (08.25.13)
fabius is repeating the party line agreed upon by the trilaterals and bilderbergers. in other words, the luminaries of the west, have decided that the conflict between israel and the arabs is at the root of all the problems of the middle east and therefore of the world. it is so easy to blame the jews, very few in numbers, rather than the genocidal muslims so large in numbers.
26. Really?
Haim ,   TA   (08.25.13)
27. I've been following news very closely for the last week and
leo ,   usa   (08.25.13)
I have not heard of any agency even mentioning Arab-Israeli peace negotiations. Looks like nobody cares. However, I heard a lot of talk about Egypt and Syria. -- Mr. Fabius, let's not fool ourselves, you do not care about Arab-Israeli peace either, but you hope that you can fix results of your own dirty legacy at Jewish expense ... again. -- I have much better idea, just cut off chunk of France and designate it as new state of Palestine, have Arabs of WB and Gaza move there and enjoy that peace you seek.
28. to #18 celts is disruption of the name cathalanian
lili   (08.25.13)
the anglo saxon can not pronounce cathalanian they changed it to celts and yes barthelona wants independence. anyway, as for my opnion for this article, Israel is the sane island in the region, Asad is a mass murderer, Egypt brought back Mubarak. so many bloodshed and it has nothing to do with Israel.
29. 15
Zionist forever   (08.25.13)
Abbas problem is he is planning to retire IF AND WHEN he ever decides to hold the elections which are 3 years late already. He knows he is never going to reach a negotiated settlement with issues like the sacred right of return which he cannot abandon but Israel will never agree to so instead he wants to go down the UN route. He sells the western world an image of a man who went all out for peace but Israel made peace impossible so he will probably go on 2 fronts First is the UN gain enough support in the General Assembly get the west to give up on a negotiated solution get them to vote in favour of an Arab state 100% on his terms. The second is play up to Israel's left try get them to be more open minded to the idea of a single state. Already we have some of the more far right member of the right wing in Likud like Miri Regev and a growing number of settlers in favour of a single state because of their obsession with keeping Judea and Samaria for ideological reasons. If Abbas can get enough political support in mainstream Israeli politics that's going to be his plan because s what Fatah always wanted.
30. 18 The Hebrew/Israeli/Jewish people has maintained its both
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.25.13)
affinity to Eretz Israel (Land of Israel) and constant presence in it for the past 4,000 years. Its historic/natural, ethical and legal rights is directly derived from this reality. This reality was recognized by the international community and etched into international law. The only question that remains at this point is: to what extent, if any, the Arabs are willing to abide the law, international law in this case?
