1. Truth be told ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.25.13)
.... I care about as much about the international reaction (including the ersatz "Palestinians") as I do about the weather in Singapore today. I was very young when it happened, but I know a great deal about how neglected, poor and abandoned East Jerusalem was until it was restored to Jewish control in 1967. So all international commentary rings hollow and hypocritical. No one paid attention to East Jerusalem -- including its Arab inhabitants -- until it came under Jewish control. The State of Israel and the Jewish people are the ones who lovingly restored Jerusalem to its glory. And now, the international community and the ersatz "Palestinians" would have everyone believe otherwise. Well, the truth is that East Jerusalem was a festering, suppurating wound under Arab control. That is why it will never be divided, and why it will never be under the control of ANYONE but the Jewish people. Get used to the idea, because it isn't going to change.
2. Wonderful news for Assad
Zionist forever   (08.25.13)
All the western war drums beating over the chemical weapons use will soon be silenced and they will be replaced by international condemnation over the building of homes in the capital. Lucky old Assad.
3. #1 You are partly right and completely wrong
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (08.25.13)
Ity is true that East Jerusalem was treated like a trash bin or worse under Jordanian rule. It is premature and perhaps overly optimistic to claim that we/Israel will retain control over an undivided Jerusalem. Best now to wait and see (and don't forget about collecting suitcases, etc. for returning settlers.)
4.  ISRAEL WILL BUILD ON ITS LAND
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED OBVIOUS HOUSE   (08.25.13)
And anyone who does not approve can kiss my hairy arse.
5. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.25.13)
Jerusalem is not negotiable. Have no fear, however. The ersatz "Palestinians" will find another excuse to torpedo the "negotiations." My guess would be "right of return."
6. To dear Sarah B., U.S.A./Israel, at no. 1.
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Our big planet Earth   (08.26.13)
Very well and correct thought and written down by you. Israel belongs, since 1948 to the Jewish/Israeli people. If the "sharia"/"jihad"/"islam"/Arab population thinks otherwise, there is a possibility to move/to emigrate, for example, to Jordan and to Makkah/Mecca and Medina,on a very special peninsula, via own payment. Health, security and peace, also to you and to your family. Salute, Sjoerd Ruurd.
7. There is no practical way to have 1 city as 2 capitals
Zionist forever   (08.25.13)
You have border issues, you want to control your borders you cannot have the Arabs going into Israel via Jerusalem or the other way around. You can physically divide the city as it was between 1948-1967. Do that you control the border but its going to make life a misery for the residents and visitors. You can divide based in neighborhoods which Olmert was talking about doing by how do you have border controls in different neighborhoods in an open city? Whats to stop a terrorist entering Jersalem from his side with a bomb, freely traveling into Israel's section and taking a bus tonTel Aviv with a bomb? With open borders how do you stop smuggling, spend billions on fences all you need to do is enter Israel via the Palestinian state unchallenged. You live in the Israeli section but your employment is in the Arab section so who do you pay tax to? I assume the Arabs will not want to continue using the shekel so traders will have to keep track on exchange rates so they can mark their goods in both currencies It's easy for politicians to TALK about having Jerusalem as captain of two states but you look at the practicalufy and affect it will have on ordinary people doesn't look so viable anymore
8. Jews, legally, have full right to dwell throughout "the...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.26.13)
...national home for the Jewish people", as the area between the Jordan River and the Med. Sea is referred by the international community. We ought to add, Jews have the full moral right to dwell throughout the Jewish people's ancestral homeland of western Eeretz Israel (Land of Israel), especially since we, Jews, are excluded to to do in eastern Eretz Israel, only because we are Jewish...
9. #7. Idea of ceding Jerusalem, Judea,Samaria is pure evil..
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.26.13)
#7. I found your post surprising. Claiming there is no practical way to have 1 city as 2 capitals is like investigating the feasibility of committing mass murder. The idea of ceding Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria is pure evil. Never mind the mechanics of the monstrous abomination.
10. Jerusalem is the Eternal & Undivided Capital of Israel!
Son of Cyrus ,   UK   (08.26.13)

What glory? They are not allowed to govern themselves, vote for their reps. don't have a street lights at night, functioning busing system and forced to use 2000 years old Roman sewage system ,... 95 out of 100 requests for home or any improvements are denied by IDF occupational forces, the remaining 5% is issued to Jewish squatters ,...
12. Legal truth re. Judea/Samaria 100% on Israel's side.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.26.13)
The legal truth about Judea and Samaria is 100% on Israel's side. So much so that the P.A. doesn't even want to debate Judea and Samaria, as MK Danny Ayalon challenged them to. It would be simple to bring in international law experts to address the U.N. and prove, to the satisfaction of every person of good will, that Israel owns Judea and Samaria. Would this convince Israel's enemies? Of course not. However, it would vastly strengthen Israel's position, encourage our friends, win Israel many new allies and expose our enemies for the racist pigs they are.
13. Not new
Neal ,   Minneapolis USA   (08.26.13)
"What's to stop a terrorist entering Jerusalem from his side with a bomb, freely traveling into Israel's section and taking a bus to Tel Aviv with a bomb?" -- So what's to stop him or her now?
14. #7 Heard of The Vatican?
Stan ,   Israel   (08.26.13)
15. Before 1948 there was never "arab" east Jerusalem
Yonatan Ben Avraham ,   Dishon, Israel   (08.26.13)
From 1948 to 1967 the capitol of east Jerusalem was Aman Jordan and all the arabs there had Jordanian ID's and passports. Before then they were conditional British protectorate ID's and before that Ottoman empire ID's. Ramallah makes a wonderful capitol for a fakastinian state.

23. To: No. 21
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.26.13)
Well, if the international river pushes too hard, there's always Israel's Samson Option. We WILL pull down the temple walls. The words NEVER AGAIN actually have some meaning to us. It's really rather simple: if we go, we're taking a lot of you with us, and leave whatever is left uninhabitable for the next one hundred thousand years. I don't think the international river is prepared to call our bluff. Because we are NOT bluffing. If we cannot live .... well, neither can you. It's called reciprocity. Big word for you, I know, but you're so quick to dispense advice about what to google, you can google that.
24. #23. Israel can do what John F. Kennedy did.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.26.13)
There were several nights, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, when people around the glove went to bed not knowing if the world would exist, as they knew it, in the morning. But John F. Kennedy meant business. He would not retreat. He DEMANDED Soviet missiles be removed from Cuba and made it clear he would use American nukes to back up his demand. Ultimately the Soviets complied. Kennedy will always be revered for his courage and fortitude. If push comes to shove, Israel can do what John F. Kennedy did.
