2. Sensible threat to make, albeit empty
Hariri ,   Beirut   (08.27.13)
Best answer for Assad, is to agree to supervised destruction of chemical, biological weapons to start with, Then let the Kurds form with their Iraqi brethren, and split Syria into Alawite enclave and the rest being secular. Amnesty, 72 hours for Jihadists to leave or be shot on sight. Cut off Iran and Hezbulla, and get out of Lebanon
3. I didn't know...
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (08.27.13)
the Syrian army hired Baghdad Bob.
4. This may be the war of Gog and Magog.
Israeli 2   (08.27.13)
"Mehatzafon tipatach hara." Evil (calamity) comes from the North. Hezbolla will rain all they have got on Israel. Syria will rain all their scuds on Israel Russia is getting involved. Tel Aviv may very well be a target and a gonner. Pre empt now, Israel. Destroy Damascus and send Hezbolla to Kingdom Come.
5. Idiot senior Syrian officer
X'   (08.27.13)
Thus spoke the suicidal islamonazi criminal terrorist. Start practicing kissing your butt goodbye. Israel will get hurt but you, your country, Lebanon and Iran are going to get turned into lifeless radioactive parking lots

7. one things for sure
arne ,   chicago usa   (08.27.13)
if the u.s enters the conflict in Syria and Israel is attacted because of it, the u.s. must be prepared to act in israels behalf. Israel as I see it took no sides(at leased publicly)in this bull-shit civil war.it's the sunnis against the shia and allawites-israel doesn't give a hoot who wins this one, their both the same.
8. Family left Tel Aviv today
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (08.27.13)
flying to London via Moscow as there were no seats directly to London. Costing a fortune but glad to get them out. Good luck to those who remain, I think you are going to need it, especially in light of the statements coming from Syria this afternoon
9. #5 'x' the armchair warrior from Brooklyn Heights
Sara B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (08.27.13)
If Israel even looks like it is going to use nuclear weapons against Syria Russia will get involved If Syria becomes a radioactive parking lot then so will Israel. Which is how mutually assured destruction works, besides this time of year the radiation will be blown back into Israel from Syria
10. threats
real vision ,   usa   (08.27.13)
Amazing how even tho israel has taken to part in the syrian civil war and may not be part of the west striking syria, the syrians are making threats against israel. Israel would be to have all anti missile batteries ready in a few days
11. #2 you are right
(08.27.13)
But the problem is that Obama never offered Assad your compromise. If he did, many thousands of lives would have been saved
12. 8 & 9 you are a fake fool
Michael ,   Canada   (08.27.13)
and I actually pray that Syria does send a few missiles towards Israel. This way they will have a reason to flatten the country. Israel could destroy Syria in 1 afternoon.
13. P.S - number 9
Michael ,   Canada   (08.27.13)
I cant believe i am actually writing you back because you answers are so unintelligent but FYI - dont bank on Russia for anything. Their services go to the highest bidder and you will see when Syria is attacked they wont even get involved!
14. To no 8 your story makes no sense
Jay   (08.27.13)
Your family flew to London via Moscow? You are telling me that there was no flight to Athens, Brussels, Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rome, Paris, Marseille, Prague, Budapest, Sofia, Kiev, Warsaw, Bucharest, Vienna, Zurich, Geneva, Barcelona, and Madrid ? You are telling me that literally every flight to every single European destination is full? And at all these destinations it would be easy to catch a low cost or alternative connecting flight or even bus to London? Hell if you were Paris, you could ride the Eurostar. Your story makes no sense to me, unless you are trying to demoralize a concerned populace...
15. If Tel-Aviv is targetted
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.27.13)
Then so will Tehran. See which one goes away first
16. #14 Jay
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (08.27.13)
Believe what you like the only flights we could get from Ben Gurion today were to Moscow
17. Everyone forgets !
Ilan ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (08.27.13)
when it comes to country vs country combat! Israel is KING! it is our strength! Just because IDF wasn't allowed to stretch its legs in so long, everyone assumes we can't defend ourselves! its not hermetic, some rockets will get by, some will die! But BURN?HA! i think Syrians will be lucky if there are minimum Israeli casualties, that will be the only way the Americans will keep us out of the war! Israel has been prepping to go to war with IRAN, Syria is nothing!, especially since it will only be war with only HALF of Syria!
18. Yes #14 Moscow!
Ilan ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.27.13)
i flew from Israel to Canada through Moscow, and not over the Pacific either. over Europe and the Atlantic. why don't you research yourself and see what is available now, before you talk!
19. Israel can wipe out Syria, Lebanon and Iran in one shot.
Robert ,   Belgium   (08.28.13)
20. #8 Your story reminds me of a Pink Floyd song called
A ,   Belgium   (08.28.13)
"Run Like Hell". And before you make any dipshit remarks, I have 3 children in Israel. They won't run.
21. Half of syria?
yal ,   bh   (08.28.13)
maybe 1% of syria supports this assad butcher
22. Get out of Israel if you can.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.28.13)
There is no positive future for the country. Our great leaders can only lead us down the path of destruction.
23. To 16 and 18
Jay   (08.28.13)
@Sarah, Doing a simple Google search there were 7 flights to Moscow today and well over 30 flights just looking at a few of the cities I mentioned on the previous post. This still makes absolutely no sense. You could have traveled even to Turkey, which generally haven't had full flights due to the cold relations between the countries. @Ilan, Are you really going to compare a shot haul flight from Israel to Europe versus a trans-Atlantic flight? Well I guess its time to do a basic geography lesson. Due to the Earth being spherical it is a shorter flight to go from Toronto over the North pole to Moscow. Even if flying over continental Europe the shortest distance would be to go over the north Atlantic. Simply put that makes sense to fly Canada-Russia-Israel. In the case of Sarah, her family apparently has flown to the completely opposite direction, just to head to London. While there are literally well over 30 flights just today to multiple (closer) destination better connected to London not only by air but also by train and coach, makes that post highly suspect.
24. Sarah #8
SJ ,   UK   (08.28.13)
Unfortunately Sarah I think you've been ripped-off. Two colleagues of mine managed to get direct flights from Tel Aviv to London today (Tuesday). You clearly haven't done your homework. And I'll be returning with them on Sunday.
25. the press
bruce ,   north/israel   (08.28.13)
Good thing Assad isn't able to access the internet and read the details of the American strike plan. Oh, wait...
26. I'm picking up relatives at Ben Gurion like crazy: they come
tom ,   tel aviv   (08.28.13)
as usual for the hagim...What is this babbling about folks leaving because another Arab maniac has another fit of depression?!
27. To all those responding to "Sarah B, Tel Aviv/London"
Tahl   (08.28.13)
She is not a real person (at least not who she claims to be), and the senseless post in #8 demonstrates it well. Nothing she ever writes is positive, she is just a troll who routinely posts here demoralizing anti-Israel comments. She probably decided to adopt this name in order to annoy the real Sarah B (from Israel/USA), who is one of the more outstanding defenders of Israel in this forum.
28. If Tel-Aviv attacked
Simon ,   Burbank, USA   (08.28.13)
Before the U.S. attacks Syria, the U.S. must make known, that if "Syria" retaliates against Israel, then not only Damascus, but TEHERAN will fall too.
29. News flash!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.28.13)
If Israel is hit by a single Syrian missile, Syria and Lebanon will cease to exist. And Israel will increase in size. That's just the facts, Jack. Go ahead. Test us. We WILL make you pay, and pay dearly. And no room for Lebanese or Syrians in Greater Israel. Get it? Got it? Good.
30. Syrian bullcrap
Murray of Montreal   (08.28.13)
I recall in 1967 the Syrian Foreign Minister mentioning at the UN that the Syrian Army was at the gates of Tel Aviv, when the Israeli army was within artillery range of Damascus. The Syrians like dying for their country and the Israelis like to live for theirs. May they both have their wishes!
