1. "no smoking gun that directly links assad" bla bla
CJK   (08.29.13)
trial attorneys look for circumstantial evidence. only clueless people look for a smoking gun, like in the movies. obama is making a fool of himself regardless of what he does.
2. #1 Obama
(08.29.13)
Obama made a fool himself and guaranteed the deaths of tens of thousands when he lied to Putin about Libya. Obama made a fool himself and guaranteed of hundreds of thousands when he refused to find a negotiated solution to the Syrian war.
3. Humpy Dumpty...
Raoul ,   Israel   (08.29.13)
sat on the wall. Obama is sitting on the fence...well we know the rest.
4. A preview of how the world will react to nuclear weapons
rube vogel ,   jerusalem   (08.29.13)
1) we should condemn it 2) consider sanctions 3) where's the proof 4) the Jews are responsible
5. American polls...
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.29.13)
Obama is backing down because the American polls show that the vast majority of Americans do not want another war in the mid east. They are against an attack in Syria and Obama is after all the quintessential politician... Don't even dream of any American aid like in '76.
6. Iran and Syria have had years of practice hiding involvement
Brett L ,   JHB South Africa   (08.29.13)
in terrorist activities, this, especially that it happened in their own backyard, this is a singe to carry out. Bottom line, chemical weapons were used in a country which is widely known to have huge stockpiles of the stuff, so blaming the rebels is simply not good enough. It would be easy for the syrian authorities to have set this up. Even if it isnt the Syrian government, which we all know it is, action must be taken to discourage anyone else (iran) from doing this again!!!
7. So the hackers of new york times got their way?
yona ,   tlv   (08.29.13)
I know nytimes is a bunch of israel hates, but to say assad wasnt behind the slaughter is ridiculous

9. I've said this before ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.29.13)
.... and I will say it again. I do not think that Assad was responsible for the recent chemical attack on Syrian civilians. I am reasonably certain that chemical weapons have fallen into the hands of Syrian insurgent groups. One or another of that motley crew are responsible. The last thing on earth that Assad wants is to involve the West. The best thing on earth that the insurgent groups can hope for is to involve the West. Do the math. Perhaps the best thing is simply to level Syria, and create something new and better, just as was done following World War II with respect to both Germany and Japan. I make no distinction between Assad and the insurgents. Both are highly lethal, both are unprincipled and amoral. We should send both on their way.

'You've said it once and you'll say it again...' and who are you exactly to make such adamant statements? Unless you're part of the Al-Qaeda rebel brigade or related to Assad yourself, you really have no clue and your repetitive rhetorics are worthless.
