4. #2. Thanks for that snippet
Tim ,   Brighton   (09.10.13)
Id would very much like to see a Museum in Israel dedicated to the Jewish Connection with China from ancient to modern times Artefacts, letters, photos, stories and films I like to see it opened by the Presidents of China and Israel Indeed the story of Todays Proud and International Shanghai is inextricably linked with the Jewish Trade Barons of the early 20th Century who turned Shanghai from facing inward to a Shanghai facing outward with confidence - a legacy that pervades Shanghai and Shanghainese.to this day
5. israel is super expensive for its own citizens
JL   (09.10.13)
6. im a chareidi who actually speaks chinese both dielects
Heshy ,   Brooklyn New York   (09.10.13)
As an American chareidi jewish businessman I speak mandarin as well as cantonese dialects of chinese. I have been dealing with chinese here in New york for over twenty years. My daughter who lives in Jerusalem who's husband learns in the yeshiva kollel speaks chinese as well as I had a private chinese tutor for her years ago. I'm fact I have at least six chassidic friends who also speak chinese. The largest chareidi community in the world known as Boro park has a population of 150 thousand chareidim with a surrounding population of almost 100 thousand chinese. Chinese are the least anti semitic of any other ethnic group living in New york. Some jews here suggested that Israel surround its borders with millions of chinese as a buffer zone between its enemies. I would love to move to israel one day but I am waiting for a more chareidi type religious government. I have a lot of know how in the business field and could help them in many ways. Whenever I travel and begin talking chinese to chinese people they flip because I wear a big black hat and long black coat and look really Jewish. Have a sweet year. Gong hei fai choy.
7. #6. Heshy - Im fascinated and impressed
Tim ,   Brighton   (09.10.13)
Can you write Cantonese or Chinese as well? But don't wait too long to go to Israel -you might miss some great opportunities (Im not!) Theres now developing a critical mass of intellectual, academic, entrepreneurial, infrastructure and human resource now available in Israel to drive further progress and prosperity not only in Israel but the region And with Water Supplies more assured we are also seeing the gradual opening up of the Negev and the Beersheba Ashkelon Ashdod Triangle to become the beating heart of Israel And by the way Gong Hei Fat Choi to you, to Israel and our many friends in China
8. I live in Little Asia here in Montreal
Al   (09.10.13)
The Asians are the cheapest buggers you will have ever met. You cant sell them a thing unless they really need it. They do love gambling esp the Chinese. Yeah you can call me a racist..big effin deal. However I do love everyone so long as they pay the goddamn rent.
9. Vastly amusing thought
Cameron ,   USA   (09.10.13)
Culture clash time & then some. Been hearing for some time that Chinese touristas rank as some of the most grasping & exceedingly cheap folk on the planet. Can only smile at the thought of Chinese & Israeli personalities interacting on the daily street level. Fate does have a grand and ironic sense of humor, yes it does. YNET, keep us updated on this process.
10. Pray Tell Us Why The Chinese Would Want To Holiday In Israel
World Citizen ,   the world   (09.10.13)
There are beaches in Bali, Malaysia and Thailand and Hawai'i, deserts in Australia and the USA , vibrant cities to visit in the Western Hemisphere like Vancouver, Seattle, Honolulu, and San Francisco. Truefully Israel has relatively little to offer.
11. #10. Obviously well travelled..
Tim ,   Brighton   (09.10.13)
but have you actually been to Israel? With beauty, history, culture, food, beaches, stunning desert, parks and gardens, weather and an amazing buzz....all rolled into one! There is just NOTHING like it anywhere Go for it!
12. #10 Jesus.
James McKinlay ,   Israel   (09.10.13)
We have the places where Jesus lived and died. You wont find that in the USA, Australia, or Bali the Chinese love that kind of thing. Christianity is lifting off in china . Oh and don't forget we have a wall that people love to stick little bits of paper into and pray to the stones ! how about that ?.
13. 10.
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.10.13)
Lovely one, you would'nt last 2 minutes on the Israeli streets, as we'd eat you for breakfast.
14. china has very few christians and jews
sean green ,   Pasadena, usa   (09.11.13)
growing Christians due to Korean missionaries but still.
15. @10 - Israel little to offer?
Raoul ,   Herzliya Israel   (09.11.13)
I would say Israel has everything on your list and more. Desert? Ever heard of the Dead Sea - lowest place on Earth and fascinating. Jerusalem! Does that not stir the imagination @10? Birthplace of three great religions. Sea of Galilee where Christ was reputed to walk on water, and more and more. And then there is always hectic Tel Aviv if you want a break from the Bible, and its with it beach front. Aw come on!! And this all UNIQUE to Israel.
16. No 10's vibrant cities!
Claude ,   London, GB   (09.11.13)
All North American I suggest that the beauty of Paris, Rome, the cultural diversity of London it's huge choice of restaurants are all far more vibrant than the soulless characteristics of most N American cities with their ersatz versions of the best European foods. At least Israel can compete with all the places mentioned and with all of N America for history, culture and diverse geography in such a small area. How. Naff to even consider the idea of a Bali or Hawaii beach, very passé
17. Dear #10.Chinese mesmerized by the Jews
mary_of_bethany ,   singapore   (09.12.13)
it's no secrets that the chinese are always mesmerized by the Jews and their intelligent, and how they build themselves up just less from smarmy malaria infested areas to First World, and they desired the secret of Jewish "Wealth accumulation" ) lol. not to mention there are more christians as government are opening up to be "attractive" to the world, christianity is GROWING there. trust me, chinese are flocking to Asia's Bible College to learn theology. and Chinese are rich, they are tired of endless Asia beautiful beach, and European castles, and... whatever beautiful sceneries that the world can offer, China has them all,... mountains to snow to beaches to ancient palace.... one thing China and the World can't offer.... SPIRITUALITY. ISRAEL sat upon the history of 3 main religions of the world (beside Buddhism) , it's religious charm is worth the air ticket, however expensive. because Chinese knows Israel is the most charming and Chinese-friendly place in M.E. toda, Ynet editors.
18. if Honolulu is "vibrant".....
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (09.12.13)
....then you must like Filipino food a lot. Really a lot.
19. Guaranteed to be fascinating
Cameron ,   USA   (09.12.13)
One group of self-absorbed prima donnas encountering & adapting to another set of self-absorbed prima donnas. Intriguing to imagine how they'll collectively size eachother up. I do believe I would pay good money for an opportunity to sit next to a Chinese group in Tel Aviv and observe their reaction to dining for the 1st time upon Israeli & Arab cuisine.
20. Chinese need special food
Dave ,   Santa Fe, USA   (09.13.13)
Just back from a trip to Switzerland. Every hotel has special foods at breakfast for the Chinese and Indian tourists. And Israel?
21. 20.
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.14.13)
No problem, every Tom Dick & Harry in Israel knows how to prepare a Chinese meal.
22. I doubt the China will Respect Israel
Tova ,   Canada   (09.17.13)
the chinese have a tendency to be very territorial. The don't respect other's cultures or values. They exploit other countries for their own selfish gains. China is a country on to itself wthout any consideration or thought of other nations. They believe the world is for the taking and have no regard for others.
